Damn Mike, that’s yet ANOTHER reason you’re my hero! Where do you find this stuff? I LOVE IT!!!
I love how the last guy comes out, rescues his 'wife' and totes her off:lol:.
I always thought that was a myth used to denigrate people in the middle-east.
Evidently, I was wrong; either that or she wanted it, ba-a-a-a-d:D.

Who's the other guy...the sheep's pimp !?

.

The guy I heard said, "Now 30, now 30. Give me 40. If no one responds, they'll do 35. Sometimes they start high....Gimmee 100...(no response), now 50 (no response) gimme 35....
And they throw in jokes and other words. I had to listen to a few auctioneers before I could tell what number they are actually on, so I don't bid up on my last bid.

Thanks. That was awesome. I don’t think I could ever do that.
When my daughter was younger, she would speak so rapidly that we couldn't understand her. Many many times I told her "I can't hear that fast." She learned to slow down a little when we began teasing her about becoming an auctioneer when she grew up.

Our granddaughter does that...drives us nuts. It's a teen thing right now. When they had zoom classes for school, I'd catch grandson speeding up the lecture. I couldn't understand how he could absorb the material that fast. (turned out he couldn't)
I saw my son doing that and it just blew my mind. What really impressed me was that he could tell you what they were saying and what they were trying to convey....

"Where your fear is, there your task is."

Constant, constant reminder. I need this tattooed in my brain.

It's starting. Just learned that our president said that if we pretty much want to go back to normal life we have to get the....thing.

I don't like it. It worries me.

True... there's that.
But it's a small country. Only a couple of million people? That may make things easier to control. But I suppose we'll see.

I'm thinking of getting a sewing machine. Frankly, I'm torn between getting newer models or older ones. Older ones seem to be more sturdy. From what I've seen, newer machines may be cheaper (not necessarily sewing machines) but can be so flimsy that if there's a problem you might as well but a new one. Which I don't want to do. Older ones can have parts replaced or fixed but finding those parts is another dilemma.

So yeah. Torn.

If you can find an older one, get it. I have my Mother’s old Singer that folds down into a cabinet. I also have two newer portable ones. My Mom’s Singer needed to be cleaned and fixed. The man who fixed it said my machine was the last one model made with metal gears. The down side, it weighs a ton. The up side, it will last forever. Almost all machines since the mud 70’s have plastic gears that eventually wear out. I imagine you can get a new machine with metal gears but I’ll bet they are very pricey. I prefer sewing in my Mom’s machine because it feels so solid and doesn’t have much vibration when seeing. My two newer ones just seem too light. In the other hand they all see pretty well. It’s up to you. To you want a big heavy one that is a permanent fixture, piece of furniture in your home or do you want a very functional machine that may not last forever but you can put it in its case and move it easily. A friend and I sometimes see together and we carry out portable machines to each other’s homes. There are videos to show you how to keep your machine oiled, functioning properly and clean.
My most lightweight, portable machine is just from WalMart. I think I paid about $130. I had to buy the case separately. That was maybe $15-20.
Happy sewing machine hunting.
