Let's hope that is as far as it goes.
If not, beware.

What say ye, gun owners ?

It exempts family transfers.
"(B) a transfer that is a loan or bona fide gift between spouses, between domestic partners, between parents and their children, between siblings, between aunts or uncles and their nieces or nephews, or between grandparents and their grandchildren"
We all do this already on everything but local F-F Craig's list sales (which is a great way to get robbed).
Almost all "gun-show" sales already involve an FFL and instant background check.
Reminds me of the big sting operation by the FBI to prove how easy it was to buy guns off the 'internet' without a background check.
Number of guns successfully bought without an FFL transfer = zero.
They did managed to get swindled out of their money when they hinted that they couldn't pass a background check.
The unscrupulous sellers kept their money because they knew they wouldn't go to the cops if they couldn't pass one.
The only "illegal" purchase they managed was an UZI that had been converted to F/A and not sold as a MG.
I have the official report somewhere...

Much ado about nothing:rolleyes:.
If it will make the left happy passing a law that we already follow, great.

Passed House because of Liberal control...

Won't pass in Republican Controlled Senate...

Yet another "feel good" waste of time by the Liberal Gun Grabbers.

No, not great. If it passes, which it has about as much chance as a snowball in hell, it will only affect law abiding citizens.

ANY law that only targets law abiding citizens is a complete non starter for me and I will vehemently oppose such.

I won't be able to loan a shotgun to a friend for hunting if one of them came to Michigan from another state. I won't be able to sell a rifle to a friend that I know well without added expense and more hassle (think universal background check).

BTW, I have a great idea. How about we leave the law abiding alone, and in such circumstance they violate the law, use the laws currently on the books.
