another 7 quarts of peas canned and 6-1/2 quarts in the freezer. also shelled about 4 gallons today and prepped a dishpan full of bell pepper. we also have 2---5 gallon buckets of tomatos to do plus celery. i am so thankful the Lord blessed us with this bounty this year.

yes , but hubby would eat peas and cornbread every day if we cooked them for him. and besides we are putting up all we can get this year because we haven't had any fresh ones for 2 years.
@timmie Do you have a large family? That's a lot of peas!!!
Did 7 more jars of diced stewed tomatoes and seven more sauce. Began cleaning choke cherries.

One thing I just discovered last night when I opened a jar of my raw packed beef stew was because I put my raw meat in the bottom of the jar and veggies on top that the meat made a hellish mess of the bottom of the jar.
It's really difficult to get the scrubber down the bottom of a small mouthed pint jar to get it completely clean.
I will have to try packing g my jars with the meat either in the middle or the top of the jars.
