We're on the way home. The GPS got lost between Chick-Fil-A and the Doc's office so we were 3 minutes late. Doc went over all the issues and is scheduling some 16hr fasting blood work. Tested the kids A1c (was 5.0) and wants her to write down everything she eats and drinks and what times. She also wants us to check her blood 3 times a day +when she isn't feeling well. If that doesn't show anything she wants to schedule a 72hr inpatient glucose test.

Had lunch with Terri and family and Chic Fil A.

Hopefully next time I can keep hubby out of home depot so we have more time to eat and visit. The kid is happy to finally have a bedroom door though....

Woot! Woot! @Spikedriver :D
Jim, glad you are getting bored - means you're doing well. As for the appetite, maybe you just need a candycane:)
@Amish Heart sorry about the birds, and I've had that same bathroom door in the past
@Terri9630 rather jealous of you and AH getting to have lunch - hope you had a good visit. Also, hope they get something figured out for the kiddo.

We got to Chick-Fil-A and hubby asked what her name was. Ummm.... Amish Heart. It never dawned on me to ask before hand!

I didn't do much of anything today, a few loads of laundry... I put on the knobs I bought for the drawer on dad's old gun rack. I vacuumed a bit and rolled the garbage container down to the highway for pickup.

@Amish Heart I've used the foodsaver mason jar sealer for several years. Actually I have 2, one for wide mouth jars and one for regular mouth jars. I have no complaints at all. They meet my needs. I find myself using a lot of 1/2 pint jars now. Say I order a pound of ceylon cinnamon... I'll separate it into 5 or 6 piles then put them into the 1/2 pint jars. A year out the last jars are still fresh.

I do this with a lot of herbs I grow for cooking etc. Just dry them and seal them up... fresh as can be.

@Amish Heart I love your last name . If we all met up, that could be dangerous. The world would have no problems left to complain about
Oh yea, and like @Peanut I have both sizes of vacuuming lid attachments. They are great. We don't eat a lot of chips, but I like to have some corn chips for taco soup so can them in quart jars. They stay nice and fresh. Also dried fruit and nuts.

@MoBookworm1957 , I am sure hoping and praying that your second knee surgery goes as good as my second one.:dancing:

PT just left , and she can't believe the progress,
Wednesday will be 2 weeks, I have no pain at all, I'm walking around the house totally unassisted. I ln ready to go out to eat ..wife is not thrilled about that idea.. getting in and out of car may be a little problem.

Still havent got my full appetite back yet either.

Like I said, Mobook, hope yours is as smooth .

Jim
Me too Jim. Me too.
But exercises, walking, strength training should help.

good. i'm planning on getting on jump on some of our garden. we didn't get very much pepper this year gonna plant some seed in the greenhouse. hopefully we will have a mild winter and i can grow them outside but whatever we can get growing i will be a happy camper.

I have both the regular and wide mouth foodsaver adapters. I have to use 2 lids with the regular one because its just slightly to big. The "second" lid is a used lid.
Weird - I wonder if a new gasket would help. (Or I guess if adding a second lid just to seal - save the $). Just intriguing.

The jar sealer worked real well. I ordered the wide mouth, and then was hunting for all the empty wide mouth empties. Think I'll order the regular mouth one, too. I do a lot of dry canning, but always used oxygen absorbers, so this is an easy way to save on them. I'll still use them for mylar packing. So I sealed up some dried pineapple, coconut, and cranberries. Ran out of time, had to take the granddaughter to American Heritage Girls meeting, but that's a great idea, Peanut to do my spices. Have a bunch of dried potato flakes and scalloped potatoes dried to do. Been expecting potato prices to go through the roof after the holidays with the Midwest flooding.
Starts with an A, Terri? Don't know what that would be, but it's Darling.

Yesterday was the monthly Walmart run and grocery sales shopping.

Today is laundry day and clean baths. Also a little decorating and go get a haircut, then sit with a friend who just had a hip replacement. Pretty full day!

Towards the end of the week, we have a friend coming to stay for awhile--2 or 3 months this time. Always an interesting adjustment, as this is only a 2 bedroom house and DH and I usually have our own rooms because I don't sleep well or deeply. Oh well, this too, shall pass! And DH will have good company for awhile!

Listened to mom rant about ordering laundry service for her. First she thanked me. Then I told her it wasn't a gift, she was paying for it. I suspect she thinks she could hang up and tell them to cancel the weekly service. But she can't.
Cleaning house today, going to the post office, getting out some Christmas decorations, dealing with the animals, and the twins have dentist appts when they get off school.

I believe Walmart has Ensure 20g , vanilla and strawberry, these are really good. I drank 4 a day most days. They supply the proper amino acids and vitamins necessary for healing.

I'm slowing down on them now.

When my ex was dying from ALS, this was what he had for the last period of his life. I believe he was fed through a G tube.

Such a tough way to go for someone who was not yet 40. His mother took care of him the last year of his life. No parent should have to go through that, but she did everything she could for him.

Wife went to WM to grab some supplies.
I probably could have went with...but I hate WM , I'm not sure my strength is restored enough for that trip.
So I'll sit and wait for a surprise lunch.

I can tell y'all , that I found out last night , that Tramadol sure is not strong enough for me yet. Took 2 tabs at 10 pm , prior to beddie bye, woke up at 3 am in lots of pain, that I didn't even know existed. I was hoping to step down from Oxycodone...wow... too early.
Maybe next week.

So at 3 am , I took 2 oxycodone tabs (10mg ea ) woohoo..now that will slap the snot out of ya.

So today will be a lazy one.

Y'all keep me busy seeing how busy yall are.

Jim

I consider Tramadol baby aspirin. It does nothing for me. Even though its not good for my kidneys, when I can't take the arthritis pain anymore I take one Aleve. Works great but I try not to take it that often
