@Peanut never done wood carving but would like to but do paint a bit. Wow you must have been very sick but they are nice pleasant dreams to have none the less :) . Glad you found the passengers of the train.

@MoBookworm1957 rest up and get better sounds like you are not doing too well either.

@Bacpacker how are you tracking at the moment with the medications they have given you ?.

So far we are both well but I have a bit of hay fever at the moment with all the rain with pollen in the air I think so might take some allergy medication to fix that.

@Sewingcreations15 Hallelujah for full and overflowing tanks. That is certainly something to celebrate.
@Peanut Hallelujah for fever dropping. It’s going in the right direction.
@Amish Heart Hallelujah for being rid of mean roosters! They really are better in the pot than in the yard.
@Spikedriver Glad you’re someplace enjoyable for a change.
We are heading up to go skiing for the first time this year.

I'm some better. Head has mostly cleared finally, cough is better, and I am breathing easier. I think I'll live. Thanks for asking

Liquid pineapple for cough syrup?

I first started using it by drinking the liquid from a can of pineapple. When I home can the ones I just bought, I will simmer the chunks in the light syrup before canning, so there will be pineapple in the syrup and usually some left over.

I thought I would attempt to cook today.
So I put several 1 pound packages of pulled pork in crock pot.
It was simmering along nicely.
Had added BBQ sauce and grape jelly into the crock pot.
Was anticipating BBQ pulled pork on tortilla.
Oldest son, his lady, and their four kids came to visit.
Son and his lady are in kitchen.
They washed every pot and pan that was sitting on top of my stove.
I'm sitting in my recliner, with knee elevated talking to the grand daughter and the bonus grand children.
My son throws out my dinner.
That recipe came out of my online cooking class book.
The whole purpose of the online cooking classes is to improve my cooking recipes.
To give me more variety.
Had baked potatoes, sweet potato slices topped with center cut pork chops baking in oven.
In the last ten minutes of baking topped pork chops with provolone cheese.
Dinner for another day.
In between each of the meals rested, with knee elevated, iced.
Slept in again this morning.

Mo, I think you need to remind your eldest and his "lady" that the house is yours and the food you fix is yours.
I can't tell you how disrespectful that would be to me. It might even be one of the few, very few times I would come uncorked.
You are much more patient with them than I would be.

I am going to go say a prayer that they get a clue and then one to lower my blood pressure. Bless you Lady Mo!

It's all good.
My oldest son has been coming over, checking on me everyday since surgery.
And they did the dishes, which is harder for me with the walker.
My son just let me know, he's bringing me dinner for tomorrow night too.
My son already apologized about the crock pot pulled pork dinner.
My problem is how to make suggestions to his lady about her cooking skills.
Already gave her several very basic cookbooks to help with her cooking skills.
But she had asked my son if I had a basic cookbook she could borrow.
I have a collection of over 200 old world style cookbooks.
Gave her 6 basic and I mean very basic cookbooks.

It is beyond me why anyone would dump out someone's crockpot dinner. Sure they didn't eat it while they were in the kitchen? How weird.
Finished chicken butchering. Ten of them are in the fridge chilling till I cook them tomorrow or the next day.
Twins did the plucking, but decided to use my folding table to cut the neck and feet. With an axe. Without a cutting board.
I now have a folding table that's been hacked with an axe, and has huge holes in it. It had to go to the garbage pile. Husband was trying to get them motivated this morning and promised to pay them $2 a bird. Just for the killing and plucking. The table was $35 that they ruined. I told them for $55, I could have bought them at the store and saved a lot of time. It was decided they get nothing. Since when do we pay them for motivation? I was not happy.

Well, I love you (as well as is possible without really knowing you), and I'm glad your son asked forgiveness. As for his "lady" perhaps telling her to read the cookbooks would help? ;)
You seem to have more comfort in the situation than I - you could tell those kids that there is a man who would like to have a chat with them - and I have a paddle for kids that step over the line.
You do seem to have a better handle on it than I do. You're a big girl (a woman who is mature -not old but responsibly mature) and can probably take care of yourself (ex-military and all) and you don't need some internet old man to rescue you. I trust your judgement - I just wish they did too.
Anyway, Luv ya Lady!

My rear brake is so far out of adjustment it can't get close to the snow unless I am laying in it. Your brake must be in better condition than mine! :)

It's all good.
But thank you for your concern.

Skis have brakes?

That would have been good to know 30 years ago before I decided I had crashed enough and gave up skiing...

When I was learning to ski that rear brake was the best! It kept me from going for a swim in the creek once. I just had to squat down until my rear dragged in the snow and I would come to a stop. Then I learned how to turn and then I learned how to stop by skiing sideways. It was a lot more fun than using the rear brakes. I also learned at least ten ways to fall.

I invented new ways to fall. Usually in front of cute girls...

I was too young to notice cute girls. I usually fell when there was no one around.

Yea, I can see the problem in that. How far into your teens were you?

Yea, I wasn't even ten when I learned. Not place in my head for girls then. I was lucky I guess.

The day started with no fever... a low grade one but I grabbed a few groceries anyway. I really wanted to see dad since I was so close. I call and get a report from his nurse twice a day. He always asks where I'm at. They have to tell him I'm sick along with mom and everyone else while strangers care for him. They designed a new back brace for him, said it really helps him. He hasn't needed a shot of Dilaudid in a couple of days.

I have got to shake this fever and get down there. :(

Grand daughter was upset yesterday when she was here yesterday.
She went through my place looking for Strawberry.
She sobbed big tears when she couldn't find her.
Granny told her Strawberry would be home as soon as Granny could take care of her properly.
Granny, I want Strawberry.
I know honey so do I.
So Granny hugged her close, gave her kisses, few tickles till I finally got a smile.
Just sitting around in pj's sipping coffee watching it snow.
Yea haw!
Come to find out it was oldest son's lady who chucked my pulled pork.
This is a woman who can't cook, feeds her kids Ramen noodles all the time.
Those kids didn't know there was other fruits and vegetables besides oranges and bananas.
Because their mom doesn't buy those things.
I do,so my grand daughter gets what she needs at Granny's house.
My oldest son does because he wants his daughter healthy.
Her mother feeds her fast food all the time.
She doesn't know how to cook either.
Thankfully my son saved my pork chops, with au gratin potatoes, green bean casserole from the trash.
Think I will watch another cooking class on line today.
Check to see if I have ingredients for another dish or two.
In between recipes will rest, with knee elevated iced.
Oh, by the way.
Did you know you can kill ice bag with gel stuff in it.
Guess I did Saturday morning.
What a mess, but bed linens are done back up.
Bed remade, so all is good with the world.
Just short one ice pack, which I'll replace on Wednesday.
