Today I started my exercise program at 9am. I did not want to ' get up off that thing and dance ' or walk[ 60s song:lil guy:] ".
But I did make myself walk to mailbox which is about city block distance and backso 2 blocks. And after dr appt will do a little weight lifting.

So I'm not using garden for exercise now but w:thumbs:alking, dance and use weight bar and few small weights we found we didn't give way.
 
Walked twice distance this am. Started weight training with bar only.Did stretches, then 5 reps of curle upper body.
After dr appt realized if I'm going to get help it up to me. I'm looking for new dr.s.
They know they caused me the stroke by sending me hoem to lower my BP too fast instead of lowering it there slowly.
One told me it is very dangerous to lower BP too fast can kill you. So guess I'm lucky they gave me a stoke.:eek: Went down over 100 points.

Anyway I'll listen to some music and dance around some too for the anxiety.

Do whatever you do, Meer. So long as it gets you moving, it's all good and I support you doing it.

See y'all tomorrow after walk and lower body workout. Hubby will help me figure out which way to do that and of course any suggestions here are welcome.
 
Just got bak from walk, hubby said no weight training today, just do the walk.

Day three and so far fell little better. :lil guy:

I think the cardio is probably far more important for you. My Pops had a heart attack at age 47. He started doing cardio afterward, but little to no weights. Around age 60 he added very light (3, 5, and 10 pounds) dumbbells to his exercise, and he always does stretches. He turns 85 next month and is still standing straight with full mobility, and still walks 4-5 times a week.

If you haven't already, I'd talk to the doc about weight training so soon after a stroke. I'm not an expert though, and you know your own body better than anyone else, including the doc. You sound like you're on the right track to me...

Thats what hubby says too Spike. He said walking is enough and h always goes with the me.And I do stretches too off and on all day. A little dancing too that helps me feel better emotionally plus a little movement.:Thankyou:.
 
Slacked off for a couple days...:(

Today: tricep extension x2
Preacher curls x3
Farmer's carry x3

30 minutes cardio
Tweaked my hamstring a little bit again. The damn thing just won't heal...:mad:

Approximately 375 calories burned
 
Stickingwith it , just a little late today because of phone calls. But still got it done.:thumbs:

:woo hoo: I'm right here. Been at work. Been lazy about taking walks, but still get a workout at my job some days. My weight fluctuates between 5-6 pounds, I'm good with that. I haven't been this light since before kids. Yay, go me.

When I told my cardiologist about my job activity, diet, and weight loss, he was very satisfied with that and didn't fuss at me like he used to. Lol. We are the same age.
 
Walked twice as far today did stretches. Still going so thats good ,also did some balance exercises. Been doing balance exercises for awhile [ before the walking] and the difference is really amazing. I can now stand on one forot lots longer than I could when I started.
 
After a chat on the Walking Thread I got busy walking, walked for 30 minutes pulled some vines ' its an obcession of mine' a few weeds and now I feel better not quilty.

BlueZ and I are same age I think. I shocked some co-workers the other day when I told them how old I am. They thought I was much younger. Bacpacker and I are a couple few months apart.
