Welcome to HCL. You really ought to stay calm though. Some of the discussions here get kinda . . . well, energized, and make it hard to get to sleep if they're in the evening. There was one awhile back about coyotes jumping 4 foot fences that went to 6 foot fences and then to Malinois and I don't remember what all. Near as I could tell, I jumped out of my bed twice that night.

Welcome to HCL :welcome:

I am also in TN, upper Cumberland Plateau where we get frost/freeze warnings in mid May these days! Good mix of folks here and a lot of info in here, if you got something on your mind just say it. If your having a problem someones prolly already had it and plenty here willing to help!

Again welcome!

I found one plant yesterday with my Google Lens app. I'm sure there are more. I used to pick it with my dad as a kid but as an adult I had no idea what it looked like until yesterday using that app.

Welcome from the free state of Arizona!

Please share a little about yourself to help us get to know you.

Is your interest in herbs associated with prepping?
Are you a former or current axe murderer?
Have you ever been in space?
Were you ever a member of Seal Team Six?
Do you like fast cars?
Do you know how I can keep my bread from falling?
Do you think acorns taste good?
Is it hard to bake with dried and ground cattail roots?
I can think of thousands of questions for you.
This site is as close to family as you can get on the internet. We have all types of people here. A hired gun, a princess, hermits, gun nuts, we are all different and yet we all get along fine.

Ok well. I'm interested in herbs for culinary, beauty and medicinal benefits. I've grown them for years but never reaped the benefits other than their beauty.
I've never had acorns or cattails but I do want to try cattail on the cob.
We live on 33 wooded acres so I thought I may as well homestead as much as I can. I have 5 hens, 2 Nigerian dwarf goat does, 2 bearded dragons, 2 cats and a humungous Kangal dog along with an 8 yo old boy and 27 yo as well.
Since I have a spring share in a CSA, planted my own vegetable garden and love farmers markets I've decided to learn how to ferment veggies, haven't made my first batch yet, and to can of which I have made honeysuckle and white clover jellies so far.
I'm basically a city girl turned country girl wanna be. I've been working from home for several years and since we moved onto this property I work less and less at work and more and more at tryong to build a homestead.
I am a child of God, a wife, a mother and that about sums me up.

I think you will fit in here very well, even though you never answered the question about whether you are an axe murderer ;)
Now, welcome to the family!
