Walked this morning, afternoon and evening.
Been drinkings lots and lots of water for blood work tomorrow.
If I'm lucky it will be 4 tubes.
If I'm unlucky it will be 15 tubes.
Strawberry is sacked out on her chair sleep already.
Still cross stitching and crocheting on Christmas blankets and quilts.
Finally slept last night more than 4 hours.
Slept 4.5 hours YEAH!
Might hit 5 hours tonight.
Charlie horse in my left ankle finally worked itself out.
Ankle finally popped too.
Felt good.
Wasn't as stiff this morning.

Had the twins bday party today. Luncheon with a taco bar, and they each invited 2 friends each. So 6 fifteen year olds, and they were so excited to see each other. No one has seen anybody except on zoom for 3 months. Little granddaughter said they were playing truth or dare and she was mad she couldn't play. Oh well. They all behaved and had a great time. Granddaughter got a call from her mom, hadn't talked to her for months, and the last time didn't go well. Her 19 yr old sis is pregnant. The mom and the sis are living in a motel. Told granddaughter they couldn't get jobs because they lost their I.D.'s. Same old story. Granddaughter sees right through it now. Drugs, poverty, and a new little baby going to be brought into the same life granddaughter had. She was sad about it, but knows that they won't change.

Pretty much a normal working Friday for me. This afternoon I am going to take the younger kids to a brand new playground that opened up at a nearby park. It has both standard playground equipment and a new water based section with a variety of sprinkler and misting devices. So that should be fun. Then home to make dinner and hang out on the patio. Wife invited the neighbor woman who's husband is still on deployment to come over for dinner and she has two kids as well. My youngest just told me last night that he wants to learn everything about hunting. So we are also going to sit down and start talking about al things hunting. When I asked him what he wanted to learn how to hunt he replied "Mostly deer and chickens". 🙂

Sounds like  you have great plan for today.

@phideaux Jim at first glance, I thought it said Bossy Day 😂 Had to re-read it.
@Sentry18 Can you please share the proper attire for hunting chicken? I'm kinda curious :) I don't know if you do or not, but I wrote down some of the funny things my kids said - those can put a smile on my face even now, years later.
@snappy1 Hubby love J-poppers. He grew one pepper plant quite well last year so this year planted about a dozen. If they all produce, he'll be one hot pepper-popper
@Amish Heart That is sad, but at least good that little GD can see it. Happy B-day to twins 🎈

I cleaned up in the kitchen & changed the HVAC filters. I need to clean the grille for the filter that goes in my brother's room (we have two intakes for the AC that take 20"x20" filters- 1 in the hallway & 1 in my brother's room). He won't clean it so I'll have to do it. He keeps complaining about how awful the house is but has zero self-awareness that maybe if he actually cleaned up after himself and helped take care of things it wouldn't be bad. His solution is to move out but he can't afford to do that. If he moved out he wouldn't just have rent- he'd have to pay for his utilities, food, internet, etc. He doesn't even make enough for rent much less the other expenses.

I also decided to turn off two of the ceiling fans that I realized were spinning the wrong way. Once they stopped I flipped the switch to make them spin the correct way.

I'm relaxing and window shopping now (literally shopping for windows- replacement vinyl ones). Told my friend he can have the old windows. They are metal & not energy efficient, but he has wooden ones that are rotting. As soon as I mentioned it, my friend said he could replace his kitchen window.

Snappy, carrot cake jam sounds delicious. Depends on the type of squash. We used to bake butternut squash and mix it with butter & it was sort of like sweet potatoes. Other types of squash can be baked too I suppose. I want to know how Outback cooks their veggies because they have very good ones. I normally don't like squash that much, but they have the cooking & seasoning just right. Plus I love their bread. Steak is only so so though. Wish I could get veggies & bread from Outback & steak & bread from Texas Roadhouse (well, I *could* if I wanted, but it's not cheap).
I've only eaten at Outback once, many years ago, and have no memory of their veggies. I wonder how this copycat recipe would work? How to Steam Vegetables Like the Outback | Livestrong.com

Do people pheasant hunt in your area?

I will let you know I figure it out. ;)

Yes, we keep a running word document of crazy things that come out of their mouths. It's fun to go through them. When my 14 year old was 3 she asked me where the Holy Ghost was. I said he was in my heart. She put her head on my chest, looked up at me excitedly and said "I hear Him! He's knocking to get out!".

They do but you have to go East or West to get to better Ringneck production area. I grew up hunting mostly ducks, geese, and deer.

My oldest son funny: He had a scotch tape obsession. Could never find my tape, always in his room for something. We were homeschooling and he was pretty young. Studying the human body for science, and he had pictures of the skeleton, muscles, nerves, etc. And I said, "And God made us all!". And he said, "He must of used a lot of tape!"

Cleaning house again today, especially after the twins bday. House showing schedule for late afternoon, so we'll have to skedaddle for awhile.

Spent most of day cleaning and shining the truck.
Figured out how to display flags in back, for cruising and church Sunday for Flag Day.

Did a little mowing.

Getting ready to go pickup grandson and girlfriend to go out for a good meal, and good time.

Was gonna put Confederate flag on one side...wife was against that right now. Uggggh.

I was unlucky today.
It was 15 tubes of blood.
Been interesting day.
Got call from oldest son, he locked the keys in truck.
Could I go pick up Grand daughter.
Okay, where am I supposed to deliver her too?
Keep her for while okay?
We eat watermelon, raspberry and popsicles while we wait on her daddy.
Got another call can I bring her to his house.
Okay?
Keys are still locked in truck.
I have been in and out 5 time today.
I'm hot tired,getting cranky.
Grand daughter pipes up says "Granny needs nap daddy".
She promptly falls asleep in car seat for a nap.
Strawberry is already asleep for the night.
I finally got to eat about noon.

Having my blood drained out of my body makes me not feel so great. I hope you can get the rest and recovery you need, @MoBookworm1957
Blood donation from me maybe 3 times in my life, probably never again; used to have blood work ups done, never any problems with that, but 15 little tubes is a bit. Sounds like they're sneaking a replenishment out of the deal too.

It's okay Patchouli,
They're checking all sorts of things.
It only happens every 6 months, about the time I need to refill medicine.
I used to donate blood regularly.
But can't now for various reasons.
The big thing they're checking is iron count if the count falls below 6.
Then I have to have transfusions, I just as soon not do that if I don't have too.

I had a decent day at work, the whole week actually was decent. Tonight got the drip system finished with my raised beds. Also got all my parts measured and cut up for the cukes, okra, maters, & peppers. I'm gonna till in the morning then install the rest of the system.

Last 2 nights I've been woke up between 3-5 am with something on our deck in the bird feeders. Pretty sure it's a coon. Broke out 2 traps tonight and set them on the deck. Hope it comes back tonight and get nosy.

This is my prepping thing. Daughter often operates with one set of keys and periodically misplaces them. Son should have two extra sets of keys made. One extra set that he can access and then another set that he gives to you. I used to keep a key hidden outside until someone found it and used it. I do not do that anymore.

MoBook sorry you have to go through that many tubes.i had it every two hours in hospital for 5 days and night. My hands and arms were almost solid black. My viens are still not the same. Take care and ask questions.
