Location
right here right now maybe later over there
I live very rural and only go to town 1 time a month
Are there others that do this?
We buy groceries only once a month.
Pick up what ever is needed at the hardware store or any other store
People who go shopping every day just boggle my mind

Yea I don't get the every day thing either

We're considered rural but I go to the grocery store once a week for fresh foods like milk and oj since the fridge isn't that big to have enough for a month in there and to hit any sales to keep the pantry topped off and rotating out. Its sorta close so its no problem getting there
I buy bulk paper products
I hit the local farm markets and orchards when things are in season that I don't/can't grow
My favorite hardware store had a fire and isn't opened yet so I had to go to the other one on the other side of the large town I live 30 mins away from. Nice enough but not "mine" ya know? lol

Since we've moved here 35 years ago 4 housing developments have been built in the area and the small town we live near has had so much growth and building that it may not be considered "small" anymore.
When we moved here the town had a caution light at the main intersection lol Now there are 3 traffic lights. And townhouse developments are springing up like mushrooms. There used to be a wonderful apple orchard right along the main road. Now its been torn out and apparently 400 townhouses are going in!!!!!
I am not looking forward to that!

We live in what I suppose would be called a metropolitan area with fast access to rural areas. We have our groceries delivered to our home once a week and tend to do any other shopping we want to do online or one the weekends. We are normally too busy during the week to do much shopping, sans going to gun stores. I can do that every day, maybe twice a day.

I am looking for a deal on another AMT backup in 45 caliber. If you see a deal let me know

We live in a metropolitan area yet only ten minutes or so from the edge of the wilderness. The wife used to go shopping a couple times a week. Now she shops about every month or so and I shop a couple times a month. She says, all it takes to get me to go grocery shopping is a global pandemic.

For her shopping used to be a social event. They'd go shopping and meet up for lunch. That is done as is bingo, or plays, or just dropping in for coffee. For me it is much less of a change.

We tend to go grocery shopping every 2 weeks. I have to take my brother to dialysis 3 days a week and Walmart is about 1/2 mile from there so if we need something we just go then. If we lived farther away we would not shop as often.
Sometimes it's faster and easier for me to just go buy something than it is to remember where I put the thing I need. Why spend 2 hours looking for an item I know I have when I can buy a couple of new ones in half an hour and put the extras I buy with the one I couldn't find? :)
I have several tubes of lube for my fishing reels. So many in fact I can now remember where they are.

I admit I make trips far more than I need to. That's been cut back since the virus started. I used to have a grocery store next door, literally less than 1 minute to walk from my door to their door, and I would decide what to eat, then go buy it. And I was guilty of going to Walmart for small needs, it's only 10 minutes away in the next town.

Now, it's groceries once a week. I go whenever I get home from my work trips and again the day before I leave, to get supplies for the trip. I used to go when I got to the town we were working in but now I avoid it.

I do miss going to the farm store or sporting goods store and just browsing around. I could kill an afternoon doing that. It's probably better this way...

Growing up, Dad got paid once a month, thats when we did shopping. Now we go every 2-3-4 weeks for whatever we are out of. There is a whiteboard on the fridge with the shopping list. For location, 20 minutes one way is farms with horses, chickens, alpacas. 20 Minutes another direction and a prudent man would go armed.

WIfe was going shopping for usually every week or two. We cut back to 3 weeks when the CV got started and mainly for perishables, milk, produce, etc. In the last 3 weeks, we've started ordering on line and picking up every week. Using this time as a possible opportunity to load down some stores right now in case farmers end up in a bad, bad situation, meat producers shut down, produce transportation hampered, etc. My garden won't be producing much for the next couple months, and I don't have animals right now.

BacP no hens ?

I still work every day and get the stop by the store on your way home every couple weeks. My wife goes about Twice a month. If I am doing any sort of plumbing twice a day.
Are You a plumber?
I am also a licensed Master plumber
thumbs up fellow Brother Plumber.
I started in the trade when I got out of the service in 1979..
In my town..Caterpillar and plumbing were the only trades I could use my GI benefits on SO Plumbing was 10 cents more an hour than caterpillar mechanic . LOL
yesterday I could not spell plummer and today i are one

We have lots of hens. Come get some.
Used to do Sams Club once a month, and grocery sales once a week. Now, no grocery store buying, but husband orders from Sams and they get it ready, and I mask and glove up and pick it up. My big score was a restaurant supply store a month ago. I'm using some of our food storage, especially the heavy cans because I don't want to move it all. Realized I don't have a whole lot of pasta stored here, and the stores have limits if they have any at all. Plenty stored at the farm, though. I was feeling kind of lost...always shopping sales, always keeping food storage in mind. Now with moving, and no more sales, I'm adjusting.

No I suck at plumbing in spite of getting what I need and might need I always seem to have to go back. At our old place the ladies at the hardware store would chuckle and say see you in a an hour or so. I started using and old dresser for my extra parts. It's a pretty good system.

We go shopping a lot more than I'd like. Before they closed CSI (College of Southern Idaho) down, we'd go shopping after (or maybe before classes), which could be M W F or T Th. Nowadays we only go shopping for big items like meat and bulk stuff or Costco stuff once every ten days. Everything else is no more than one a week, but if I'm in the middle of projects, I could hit Home Depot or the local Farm Store -- D&B Supply -- nearly every other day.

On another subject: What's interesting is watching people wear masks. Costco is 100%, the farm store about 50% and the grocery stores too. Wal-Mart, on the other hand has very few masks among the customers; sometimes we're the only ones wearing them.

Now some of you may know that I have never owned a firearm and never will, but just last week, a very good friend of mine went to the local D&B to pick up some 150-gr JSP in .30-'06 SPG and a couple o boxes of #4 buck (hideously overpriced, he said). He said no one there was wearing a mask.

I wonder if anyone has done a study attempting to correlate who wears masks and who doesn't with various socio-economic or political/educational classes of folks here....

Here, we have Tractor Supply which is a farm store
50/50 on mask usage
Walmart. Same 50/50
Out of the 50% that do wear a mask less than half wear it correctly

Curious tho. Do you live in the City or rural ?
I am asking because Rural folk usually own a gun for critter control, and safety, Food
city folk do not . They are under the misconception the police will protect them.
