On the phone with the family circus, all city slickers in a town without pity, nice song:peace:. Daughter wants to send 15 yo to camp cheapest one is $`1800.00 a month, one is $4500.00 month, $ 45,000.00A YEAR!:ghostly:. I told her that is insane to even consider, buy a small place turn it into a ranch farm and make th kid super of it horses, chickens orgnic gardenign, etc, etc, etc,,Horse would be for enjoyment. The kid likes to box an just put his friend in a coma a coupel months ago child is still having seizers,so now worried about him, They were using gloves but kid hit his head on floor door casing.
They found a gun in the room locked in fingerprint safe,he picked the safe! got gun out. Thrwatend to kill himself.
What a messed up soceity we live in today, He hates the high school bunch of thugs try to control him. And this is living in a million dollar homes n- hood! But now kids with decent parents who have jobs and work hard are sent to school in ghettos.:devil::barf:.
I told her get the hell out of th city but then the kid would still be bussed to ghetto school there too ,so what the hell do you do? Homeschool the mixed up kid again,he was homeschooled most of his life.

Between Mr.Truck, my illness and society going to hell in a hand basket not much work for garden happened this past 10 months.
Vines are taking over the fence 'again'. We need to get up at 5am to do anything in the yard with this heat aand humifity. And that hasn't happened yet.

It looks to me like you got a heck of a deal!

Me and my big mouth.

I said that vanity cabinet would look much better if it was white.

Now she has got to buy some white cabinet paint.

Take doors off , pull all the drawers ,empty them and paint everything

You understand , this is MY. bathroom.

Oh crap , now all new door and drawer knobs.

Jim :confused2:

It will look better painted white and the new knobs will probably look better.

I've done a lot of updating in my home, but it desperately needed it. Kitchen was last redone in 1948 when I bought the place. Kitchen could use a remodeling again. The projects never end.

Nice work. It looks really good

The guy is a friend , in his 30s , exmilitary, 101st airborne, great guy.
He brought his 8 year old son , he caught some nice 2 lb bass outta the pond .

He would only take a hundred,
But I made him take $200.

I can use him on some other projects.

Jim
I just felt better , that way.

@Bacpacker taxes...so I figured out that I know how to do it all by myself as long as everybody else that lives here does their taxes the way that will be of the most benefit to all of us.
Finally used a tax prep place and got that straightened out, but one person has to file an amendment and I have to file an extension (which I have never done). The lesson learned is that an adult friend who helped one of the offspring and says she knows how to do taxes actually does not know how to do taxes. (As we saw last year and it was confirmed this year). LOL
Looks great, @phideaux Sadly, I agree that the vanity cabinet should be painted because of the faux wood flooring (conflict of wood patterns). I think gray would be better than white.
@Meerkat :huggs:

Thanks Patch,so sweet. I worry about the kid,he is the youngest of the grands and a late life baby.He is mad they moved from house since childhood. But his dad couldn't handle the 2 hours in Atlanta traffic any longer. I hope they find a solution very soon, daughter is looking 'tired'.

@phideaux , your new bathroom looks great and you have found someone you can trust to work. That is all a great deal!

Went for about 2/3 of my walk this morning. Hip still feels ok!

Peeled and cut the last 15 mangoes. 48 done altogether! Also made rice for the pups.
Got 20 quarts of dog food yesterday canned yesterday. About the normal amount.

It's my Birthday, but just stayed home today. Might do something tomorrow but we are having lots of rain, so no big plans. About to go watch tv with DH. Have a Happy Fourth of July!

After about 12 years I finally ordered a flag pole that came in today. So I hurried up......well not hurry with my health problems but as fast as I could handle it ;).....and dug the hole and put the sleeve and concrete in. Hopefully by tomorrow it's cured enough that I can put the pole up and show my Patriotism for this great Country by letting the ole flag blow in the wind on our Independence Day. :clapping:🇺🇸:lil guy:

I had took ours down while getting some painting and power washing done. Gonna put it back up tomorrow. Just in time.

Getting up earlier everyday till I can get up at 5am. Have to get greenhouse ready so its out of the way for late fall crops. Need to get vines, tree limbs off fence before the forest moves into the yard. Clean out fridge and exercise.Plan beach trip next few weeks. Don't like crowds in good times much less now so we never go on weekends.

I did some weeding while hubby weed whacked around the containers and house early this morning ( read before 7am lol)
Made breakfast
Did hubby's laundry
Cut up a watermelon ( yum)
Did some reading
Now I'm watching Independence Day on AMC ( online ;) ) its a marathon apparently lol

You might be right Jim. Something about the humidity is involved. Even back in the winter when I was sick, humid days were worse the low humidity. even as far as being in the shower. Now the summer humidity is back I can still feel the difference in my lungs. Not near as much in May as now.
Stay safe

I've found that humid air is harder to breathe with my asthma. Which is why we live in the desert.

Humidity causes the air to be less dense. The water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen. That replaces an equal volume of air that is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% Argon and less than 1/2% carbon dioxide with a host of other gases. The higher the temperature the less dense the air becomes and the more water it can hold. That affects airplanes, all combustion engines and people.

Today, I made me a portable stand for my J-Pole antenna. It's a take-down antenna for traveling, but most of the time it gets used when I want to join a net from inside my house with my handheld - I sit at my kitchen table, run a short antenna feedline out the doggy door, and connect to my J-Pole on the back porch. I have found that both transmission and reception can sometimes be spotty from inside my house (I think my insulation has that metal outside layer on it). But everything is always max signal from my back deck. When it's rainy or snowy I don't want to sit out on the back deck though.

FWIW, the PVC is standard 1" schedule 40, the 3-way tee has a 5/8" hole drilled in it (to match the copper tubing the antenna is made of), and each leg is cut to 18". It is very stable. The legs are not glued in, just press fitted, so the stand is take-down too. The holes I drilled in the tee are tight enough that the antenna is held in place with a very good friction fit. It doesn't move around or slide one iota. The whole thing makes a nice compact portable package with the take-down 2m antenna.

This week have been working the fireworks stand.
We might actually sell out completely.
Wahoo!
My feet and legs are still swollen.
They are now elevated with ice pack on them.
Still trying to get my steps counts up, just hobble through until I can't.
It's hotter than a popcorn fart and just as humid.
Have had grand daughter several days really early.
0630-1630, few days in a row.
Her daddy has her this weekend.
Still not hungry, drinking lots of water.
Tuesday having blood work done again.
Got new medicine this week 5000 mg of basically vitamin C.
Have no clue why.
Everybody have a safe 4th of July, 2020.
Today is my oldest son's 37th birthday.
Jim, I like lemon water with lemon twist in it too.

I painted 3 outbuildings. The pole barn my tractor is in, my garden shed, and storage shed. Use almost 5 gallons of paint.
My winter squash is looking wilted so I put up shade cloth to keep the sun off it. We have some pretty intense sun and with the black ground cover I used to keep the weeds out I think it's just too hot in the garden. I might have to shade more stuff later.

Playing loud Star Wars sound track, etc. Dog has decided to hide under the narrow table and partly under my bed. She's being a goof.
I mowed the tiny front and back yards this a.m. Grass burs all over the front yard (darn it) but at least it has grass this year. No consolation.
Cleaned the kitchen, straightened up the pantry and actually seeing a depletion of supplies and a few things that need to be thrown away (expired canned milk).
Took a catnap.
We're hearing a good barrage of fireworks even though there was not supposed to be the public display this time. We'll have it next year, right? RIGHT??
Try to post pupper pic in next post.
