Walking Taco Casserole - Don't LOSE this recipe
Ingredients:
1 1⁄2 pounds Ground Beef
1⁄3 large Onion, chopped
1 can Green Chilies, small can

This looked like it would be good for dinner to me. 😛

Not sure if there is a Thread already about this. If there is, Mods can remove or move, if they want to. 🙂
I will be cooking a version of this today. Burger is thawing.

Bet that's gonna be delicious, Weedy. :)

Maybe take a picture for us to see. 👍
I browned my burger, added taco seasoning and water, cooked it down. Put some in a bowl, put grated cheese on top. Put some salsa on it, and then chopped up lettuce. I bought an avocado, but it is still too hard. I ate it with corn chips. There is about one more serving. I forgot I had sour cream, so next time I will put some of that on. I do have onion and considered adding some of that, but didn't. I also have some black olives that I considered adding, but didn't. I do have more burger in the freezer, so I may make a different version of this again soon. I did not want to bake anything in the oven today. It is 95 degrees and I have my swamp cooler running to keep the house cool.

I would add what you like to it and don't blame for not heating up place, with it being so hot too.

This might seem exotic, but it is a quick and easy meal. We would use rice noodles, easy for us to find in our grocery stores. We can get curry pastes in our grocery stores as well. Lemon grass can be had as well, but I have actually never used it. I could see making this with or without the lemon grass. Coconut milk has a good shelf life. We love Thai food!

Bet it would be rich in flavor too. I like chicken all kinds a ways too, but haven't had that way yet. :)

We made our first egg roll wrappers following her recipe and using her recipe on them, they turned out great. But not easy:fun fun: so I bought the store brand next time we made egg rolls.
I've made egg rolls many times in my life, but never once made the wrappers. I suppose it is a good thing to know how to do, but we know it is more work.

Getting the dough thin without teraing it up is an ordeal.
Since egg roll wrappers are made with wheat flour, daughter cannot eat them. I tried making egg rolls with rice wrappers, used in Vietnamese cooking for spring rolls. That did not turn out well. They kept puffing up in the oil, and then breaking open, spilling all the contents out. That was an ordeal as well!

LOL I had same roblem with them. I don't do that complicated well. We ate the suckers with a fork!

There are many Asian recipes or Asian style dishes that are made from many shelf stable ingredients and are not hard to make. Almost all of the recipes include something more exotic, such as the lemon grass or curry powder in the noodle recipe I shared above. Many of these seasonings are fairly easily found. Sometimes they need to be ordered online.

I have made red lentil dal, but do not have a specific recipe for it that I use each time. I recently found a recipe that called for Indian, or Bengal 5 spice. I looked in many stores, but no luck. I finally ordered it online.

Bean sprouts are commonly found in Asian food, including egg rolls. I bought mung beans to grow my own sprouts, if needed, even though we can find bean sprouts in our stores.
