It's 97*-98* at the moment, supposed to get to 102* before the day's out. I just went and got 5 large milkshakes and treated them to a mandatory milkshake break 😁
LadyLocust, who was treated to such a nice break?
My good things happening: went into the city today, did not use GPS, or maps, or written instructions. Had never been to this location but looked it up last night and REMEMBERED. Be happy for me, that's a pretty big deal. Didn't get lost, made it back home a different way too. See, it's in the city I usually get lost.
@joel I hope your friend's son is blessed with awesome employment.

We have a metal fabrication shop so our guys are in a big metal shop leaning over grinders and hot torches so the milkshakes were for the guys. Obviously my brain was melted.

To whomever gifted me “supporter” status- a hardy thank you! This will sound like a “yea right” but I was hoping to donate this next week. As stated over in the frugal living thread, I was anticipating having our emergency fund at 97% this week. After reviewing numbers, found we will be able to hit the 100% mark. I have been in the counting out change to make bills situation a time or two in my life and have a pretty good fear of not being able to afford house, electric etc. Your gift today is a good lesson. You are a great group of folks and I’ve been to focused on my own circumstances. Friends are important whether next door or sprinkled across the lands. Thank you for this reminder 🙏. I will now have to figure out how to “gift” through here so I can do my part to keep the goodness going.
Blessings to each and everyone of you ✨ (there is no cross emoji but there is a pile of poop! Who designs these computers?)

@phideaux here is the thread you were asking about, one I best participate in before the jackboots come haul me off for venting or going crazy over news

Something positive ,ok lets see what I can find.Antone else

My house is painted! It is bright blue with white trim and my wife loves it.

I worked for a custom furniture shop in 2000 & we would go to a seafood place sometime, that was near the shop.
The shop moved & I near when back to the sea food place, until last night.
That 20 years, place looks the same, has the same menu & food is still great.
This place has been open for 30 years.

I'll be taking college courses online.
Church is allowing up to 100 in the building at a time now, masks and distancing required.
One of my sisters called me today.
I'm so glad you're able to take a trip, @Meerkat

Thanks Patch so am I . Hubby not so much, but he will be glad once on the road, I hope. He will just have to pretend he is enjoying it. He is a homebody.

My friend visited today , we talked a good while,
Then my grandson brought my truck home, we talked a good while.
He's so big,
We have always told each other how much we love each other and are best friends in whole wide world.

Jim

Great glad you had company. I love my old freind too been close almost 60 years.

My oldest son and I are talking about buying a house together.
One that has upstairs area for him and his daughter.
And one that has finished basement for Strawberry and me.
But we both agree the fenced yard is for Strawberry and grand daughter.
And that grand daughter, Strawberry, and I can garden our hearts content.
So far we are just talking.
Later after I'm gone,
Both of my sons and their families will live in the house.

The women on here will understand this.

On a whim I tried on a pair of Lee Rider Lady's jeans I had in the closet one size smaller than I usually wear.

They fit! 😮 Even have 1/2 inch extra in the waist band.👍

Speaking of cats.

I have for the first time ever....made friends with our tom cat , he's only about 8 months old, but he's big , gray and white , long hair. He follows me everywhere , always near me.

Likes for me to rub his ears and belly.

Guess I got a new friend to hangout with outside.

Oh , he catches bullfrogs too.

Jim

There is a pickup with a hi-lo camper parked along the road near work. It has a broken windshield, at least one of the camper windows is missing, camper doesn’t go all the way up on one side, etc. From what we’ve seen, there is a couple with a dog who are living in it. There is no garbage and we haven’t seen any smoking or signs of other “stuff.” Tomorrow I will be leaving a bag of fruit and small bag of dog food on their door. (Please don’t let me forget.)
