Yesterday I took my first month's substitute check and bought ten 2"x6"x8' pressure treated boards, the same number of 2x6x10 footers, 16 2' x 8' polycarbonate panels and stored them in the CONEX. Next week (inshallah) I'll get about 12 60-pound bags of sakrete and start on the footers. As long as I can get afternoon temperatures above 45° F, I won't have to worry about the concrete curing (I hope).

I've never done work with the polycarbonate panels or digging and pouring a footing. This ought to be ... interesting.

I hate drama! And have had more of it in the last 2 months with our "company" than in my 30 years of marriage. It's exhausting and overwhelming. Not sure if we are near the end or not, but she sent him to jail and we went out and rescued his service dog before she sent him to the pound. She is leaving for parts unknown tomorrow. Don't know what's next but he is the same age as us and has to take care of himself. I know I'm just venting--well entertainment anyway.

Had to pick up a small order at Walmart this morning and hit the liquor store. No wait, that's not what I meant. LOL Was supposed to return the live trap and go to the bread store, but she texted saying she was going to call animal control --on a service dog. So I came home and we went on the rescue mission.
I am washing covers and sheets this afternoon. Guess we will see what happens when he gets out of jail.
I mean what the heck! We are in our 60's and have never acted like these folks! People!

My new chest freezer is in the State now, so hoping it will arrive on target, Tuesday!
Hooray for you, Snappy!
Dawn and I went to Home Depot yesterday to get some stuff for the greenhouse, and I asked the home appliance sales boss when I could at least start looking for a chest freezer. He said he had one for four days (!) before it was sold. He took my phone number and said he'd put me on his "we got one in" list; after that, it's first-come, first-served.

We've had endless drama, too, Snappy, so I sympathize. What on earth did she send him to jail for?
I got a phone call a little while ago, a local number I didn't know. It was little granddaughter's crazy, insane mom from California. She is in Wichita at a Dollar General. Borrowed someone's phone to tell me that. Said she's moving here to be close to her daughter. I told her to hole up for two weeks and quarantine. I don't want her around. Get a burner phone. Get a place to stay. Get a job. Don't bug me. I won't help at all. Raising her child at our total expense should be enough. I told her that it isn't normal for her to drive here without telling us. She is that crazy.

Just put my uniform away until next time it is needed.
Just getting home.
Tired, weepy, but glad to be home.
Sipping coffee, Strawberry is sleeping beside me in the recliner.
Hope I will get some sleep tonight.
Running on 4.5 hours since Thanksgiving night.
Have a nice day.
Put your uniform away? Tired and weepy? What's up?
I have been on the run since last week so must have missed something, but last I saw, you made a rockin' turkey:)

Mine says "delayed" now. Still hopeful!

She says he attacked her and he says he only defended himself. Who knows. Not sure the truth is in either one of them.

K got the tree up and decorated yesterday when I ran to Target. While I was out I grabbed some things from Target and picked up my online order. On my way home I almost got through the valley and back into town when the road was blocked by a sheriff. There was a very bad accident up ahead and they couldn't let anyone pass. The valley has a small road that winds through it. One lane in each direction. Since the land on either side of the road is pasture land for local ranchers and herds of beef cattle there was no way to go around the accident. I had to turn around and go all the way back out of the valley to go around the valley to get home. Since this put me very far out of my way I tried to get back as soon as I could. I did stop at the farmers market when I passed it to get lemons and ginger for more cough/throat syrup. They had seeds so I got a bunch to add to my new stash.

Today Roo went back to school after the holiday which meant I had to get up to get her up and get her in the school room on time. While she did her work I set up my new folding desk and chair in the school room. Now I have a space to sew or work on my laptop in the school room to keep an eye on Roo while she works.

I made an appointment for Sunday for the girls to see Santa at Bass Pro. When I saw the video about how they are doing the meet and greet I cried. They get to see Santa with a piece of glass between them and he is wearing a face shield.

Left late Thanksgiving night.
Just got home this morning.
Military Funeral out of state.
Forgive my spelling, my eyes are tired.
And I don't want to put my glasses on right now.

Ah! Well, if your part is as I’ve seen, you are greatly appreciated. Hearing taps play is a pretty somber experience. Bless you!

He wouldn't let you order one? We ordered a 15cf chest freezer at HD and got it in 2 weeks. Of course my neighbor ordered the same freezer at the same time I did and his won't be in until Dec 20th.

Finished a week long house-dog-cat sitting job early afternoon.

I drove to a local nursery to look at their end of season seeds. It is a big place that does all kinds of plant stuff. I got a very small Christmas cactus. The large ones were $29.99. In a couple years, this one will be large enough. In my research, the pink Thanksgiving cactus is often called a Christmas cactus. They had several varieties of these cactus, white, orange, pink and red, and they had them all labeled as Christmas cactus. The red one is technically the Christmas cactus. I wonder how they get them all to bloom at the same time? My Thanksgiving cactus are about finished blooming now.

I asked an employee if they had seeds, which they usually do even at this time of year. They are putting together their displays of seeds for next year, Seed Savers and Peppers of the World. Found Moon & Stars Watermelon seeds, one of the best watermelon's I've ever had. I also found Hatch green chili's in mild, medium and hot. I decided not to get hot seeds. Heat gives me the hiccups. I also bought a package of Shishito pepper seeds, all the rage this year, 10 seeds for $2.49.

I tried to ask you in a joking thread whats up and why your ignoring me but that went over like a lead balloon:ghostly:. How about next time I do something to tell me about it so I can say I'm sorry if I'm wrong which is possible. :dunno::huggs:

It seemed more threatening and not a joke to me. I have never been one to be center stage, never will be. I run from that kind of stuff. I need a break and time.

Strawberry and I are up.
She's been outside.
Let me tell you what when the bitter cold wind hits her in the behind.
She don't waste anytime taking care of business.
Woke up here it's a whopping 19*.
Got ham and navy beans going in crock pot for something hot later.
My pipes didn't freeze last night, left water dripping.
Strawberry wants to cuddle, she's still cold.
I'm sipping coffee, reading forums,crocheting.
Next year's crocheting adventure will be trying to make me a sweater.
Nothing fancy, just something I can slip on when I get chilled.
Probably walked a mile or two last night n the apartment trying to get tired enough to sleep.
Didn't work. Got a couple of hours of sleep.
Going to try to teach some one to sew over the phone.
Or at least try to figure out what's wrong with there sewing machine.
They adjusted everything instead of leaving it alone.
After the last time I fixed it.
I dislike idiots a whole lot.
I'm trying to finish up my Christmas gifts.

Was up early today, wow it's cold, fed them darn cats, got ready , fasting labs this morning in big town at 8:00am, and it's a 45 minute drive. Got that done , sitting in WM parking lot , wife needed some skanks

I ran thru McDonald's , got a sausage biscuit with egg....not bad.
Now we gotta kill some time, wife has appointment with RA doctor at noon. That's 3 hours.

Oh well, I'm sure she won't have any problem shopping.
Ain't it cool , she's finally able to get out and about.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day. :candycane:

That is wonderful that she feels well enough to go shopping. I hope she doesn't over do it!
Those biscuits at Mickey Dees are one of the few things I get from there, a couple times a year. I prefer the biscuit to the English muffin they serve.

I went to pulmonary Dr yesterday. He said I sounded good. But still says I have asthma. Never had any signs or symptoms of it before. Don't now. Just was so bad last winter. Wants me to keep taking steroid inhaler. I want to stop. Trying to decide what to do.
Interesting. I had a cold close to two years ago. I finally went to dr. and was told I had the cold. I think she said two month cold, but I don't remember. I still cough from that, never lost the cough, two years later. Daughter comments about it. Not good in the COVID times to be always coughing. I have wondered what could this be that is still lingering two years.

I wonder if there are some things that affect some of us more or differently, like the asthmatic symptoms your doctor mentioned? I wonder if there might be an herbal remedy for you?

I ordered a 24cf chest freezer from Home Depot and got it in 3 days!

Did he take an xray? I use my steroid inhailer maybe once ever few months, just happend to use it yesterday though. They told me 10 years ago to use when needed. I seldom need it. This one is out of date since 2014, only 4 sprays used so far in over 6 yr.s.. Thye cost too much to throw away.
I did hear that steroids may be good to avoid Covid.:dunno:

Well, I'm attempting to clean the potentiometers on my Fisher amp, and installed a new belt on my turntable. Hopefully I can spin some vinyl.

In the RA trial clinic my wife was in , the research people do genetic studies to determine how the drug affects different people in different ways . Then they will be able to know how different people will react to the drug.

Not good in the COVID times to be always coughing

My sinuses have been draining for months. Sigh

I got 9 and a half hours sleep last night! Woohoo!
Already did laundry.
Made s/f jello and pudding.
Made a turkey pot pie with all leftovers.
What I haven't done is walk or exercise.
I need to cut collard greens before our second hard freeze tonight.
Paid bills.
Dropped off turnip greens to a friend.
Need to call Ninja about my air fryer/ toaster. It doesn't toast well anymore.
