They wanted to replace the battery in the sensor in the tire. A mere $605 for that service. I told them I thought a $3 tire gauge was the more appropriate "fix", and the new engine had a better chance of being installed in their rectum than in the car.

When our forester started flashing warning lights and messages, the computer couldn't find anything wrong. It was suggested to us to use only premium fuel; we had been using regular. After just one fill with premium, all the crap just stopped. Although they are rated for all fuels, subarus object severely to low octane after a few years.

I bought a FIXD for my Xterra, another for Dawn's Honda Civic, as well as another for my son Andy's Ford Focus back in AZ. Unless you really enjoy being ripped off by unscrupulous mechanics, I'd recommend one of them highly.
 
I agree that if something comes up when you have an appointment, the least the office staff can do is let you know something happened and there was a delay. When I was an infant, I was very ill and the doctor had to rush me over to the hospital. He stepped in to the waiting room and told all of the patients he had an emergency case to handle and their appointments would be delayed.

But, I've also had appointments that were delayed because the doctor chose to come in late and it wasn't over an emergency. Had a doctor who was chronically about an hour late for his shifts when we lived in Guam. He would decide he wanted to go for a jog instead of going to work and then he needed to shower and he'd take a long shower and be late. So patients just had to wait.

My mom once walked out on a sleep apnea appointment because the doctor took in a walk-in at her appointment time. There was no emergency, but apparently the guy was a squeaky wheel. He would aggravate the staff and rather than ask him to leave, they caved to his demands. There were no other patients there but this walk-in and after an hour of waiting, my mother said "To hell with this!" and told them she was leaving and that she was very pissed off that they took a non-urgent walk-in when she'd been there early to make sure all her paperwork was filled out. She was getting low blood sugar and tends to get very cranky so really crabby. I think she actually shouted something as she got up to leave and the doctor came out and said if she would just wait longer she would see her. Mom said "Hell no!" and stormed out. The staff later called and apologized and rescheduled her and promised it wouldn't happen again. Mom can be embarrassing when she gets in those moods.

My current frustration is over my friend's deteriorating health and inability to get treatment. Neurologists here won't see a patient without insurance (and not having the right insurance is the same as not having insurance in their eyes). He spent all day on the phone on hold trying to switch his Medicaid plan to a different one that is accepted but after hours on the phone they closed down for the day and hung up on him. He's getting weaker and having debilitating headaches. He also just narrowly caught his bank allowing an early charge from his car insurance. Not due until the 14th and they let them charge it on the 10th. Had to take him to the bank and give him $20 to put in so it wouldn't overdraft his account again. He really needs to change banks. He also needs to send them all written notice saying not to let him be billed until x date for each thing and also needs to write to the places that are billing him early and tell them to stop trying to charge his account before his bill is due. Other banks don't allow that crap but his does.
 
My rant is for the United States Post Office idiots.
I ordered 4 large CERAMIC piggy banks in October on my birthday.
Said banks should have been to me before Thanksgiving.
My Ceramic banks have been residing in Los Angles California Post Office since 10 Nov.2020.
My Ceramic piggy banks have mated and produced small plastic banks.
While they were reproducing into small plastic banks, they took a little trip to Des Moines Iowa Post Office.
They were in Iowa from 15 Nov 2020 until they left to go to Kansas City Kansas Post Office.
Then it took those small plastic piggy banks 8 days to go to Kansas City Missouri Post office.
From Kansas City Missouri Post Office to my local Post office that little trip took 17 days.
I received 1 of the small yellow plastic piggy bank Saturday 12 December 2020.
The other 3 Ceramic piggy banks are supposed to be delivered Tuesday by 5 pm.
I ordered 2 white and 2 pink Ceramic piggy banks.
I got a small yellow plastic piggy bank.
Not a happy camper.
On happy note though I still waiting for my VA prescription that's been tracked to the local Post Office.
It's 10 days late.
All Piggy Banks, Ceramic and Plastic will be a return for Wal*Mart.com.
Had to purchase something else to get it where it was suppose to be in Texas.
 
It's all because of the China Virus. Every time something happens it's the China virus's fault.
Package delayed? CV.
Can't see a doctor? CV
New furniture takes months to deliver? CV
Amazon Prime takes longer than 2 days? CV
Biden won? CV
Democrats stole the election? Absolutely but it's because of CV.
And the list goes on forever.

No meds 'yet' I drink my anti anxiety thank you. Mostly I just deal with it music really helps and exercise helps but at times evey few month I need something stronger usuailly I have a drink. I had one and less than half of another beer last evening, got a good buzz and fely ok. At mt age now you can smell the stuff and feel better.:woo hoo::dancing:
 
My rant is people not discussing things without getting upset or insulting those they disagree with when in reality many don't even know what they are disagreeing with becuase they can't comprehend what the heck the person actually said or what they are reading.
What they are doing it seems is sitting on ready to attack about something they were peeved off about earlier but wouldn't discuss civilly before. :rolleyes:. Or playing games with the little emoli's aka smilies whatever. Just ignore or discuss it if it bothers you than much, but firrst know what the person saidor ask them to be more clear.:peace:

Doggone it, Meer, that is the same impression I get a lot. Once in awhile when I read my post, I don't understand it either. Other times I understand it, but can see how the other party got the wrong message from it.. But - the other 97.44% of the time - the problem is that I'm right, and the reader is wrong.

See, I can be humble . . . :cool:

Received another piggy bank yesterday.
It's purple with gold writing on it.
Still no medicine.
Go figure.
 
Went to open back patio door, which is an old Millgard top of the line door, about 20 years ago. Something sprung, now the door won't open. I disassembled the lockset, but it just won't open. I have to get a service man out here to just open the door, then determine if the lock plate is repairable, extinct, or I need to install a new $2500 door.

In my house the term"service man" makes me wince.

The pejorative "we" as in Ben.
