If it's meant to be, a dog will pick you. Even if it's just a picture on a website, the message will be unmistakable. We went 5 years without a dog, then for an "unknown" reason I was looking and Teddy Ruxpin, the current resident, an Australian Shepard/collie/Chow mix took up residence. He knows the front/back "ring alerts" and God help you if you mess with his pack, be it cats, chickens or his peeps :). I sleep really good now,

Our Becks and Molly mother was a registered Aussi shepard. A dog jumped the fence and made Molly Becky Wiermeiner,Aussi mix,so they gave the puppies away.Got them from " Free Puppies" sign on road.

So we make our own for the one dog. A small dog is not logical out here but can't afford make up food for a medium or large dog.
Post an ad on Craigslist saying you're looking for old freezer meat. It can be old or freezer burned but neither of those will bother your dog.

Thanks Zoom. This is rural and most have dogs,But you never know so may check it out once Paul Bunion stops trying to mess himself up. Hubby is trying to get huge tree off fence that feel couple hours ago.

I've always had dogs and can't imagine living without one. They bring joy and excitement to our day.
We have a Yellow Lab, a Brittany Spaniel, and one cat. I buy food in 40+ pound bags from the farmers supply house. I usually keep five bags on hand in case of a shortage, and rotate the inventory to keep a fresh expiration date. I think it best to have two dogs, so they have company when you are not around.

The best love money can buy.
Maggie is 16 months now & we were contacted by the breeder yesterday. Her mom is due to have another litter ..... so a brother is in her future.
One is good ... two is better.

Momma is pure Bernese and dad is half Bernese and half Poodle.
Hopefully the mix will improve longevity .... only issue with Bernese is the short lifespan ( 8 years maybe )

Pretty pups Sarg.

So far the answer is no to another dog.One dog would be easier in a way nut don'y like to have one dog without a buddy. And sure don't really want 2 dogs.
I see digging out of yard ,illness, have to travel with 3 dogs ,food becoming short store brands that is ,etc, etc, etc,no way can we do homemade feed for 3 dogs.
But I also see the joy the dog puts in your life, the protecction letting us know if someone is snooping around in the woods here,

Too bad we don't know the future.
