King Snake!!!

@Neb When I had work like that done I found myself starving for protein. Hint, fried chicken in a blender is a viable option (de-boned). Get the crispy or extra crispy, blend it just enough to be digestible when swallowed, very tasty. I even put a ribeye steak in a blender one night, MEAT!

Looks like a good afternoon HB. With the Rat snake around, probably no close vipers. Good thing all around.

Short week at work which is always nice. Finally got funding for a project I've been dragging my feet on for months with all the other crap going on. Already got the needed parts ordered, already had some on hand, so this will move quickly.Gotta be done by end of September. I hope to be done before end of June....if what I ordered comes in quickly.
The nasty project I've had is on hold waiting on the Lead samples to come back. Rad techs should finish their work tomorrow, then we wait. I think things will be done in just a few days after we find out what all we are really dealing with.
Mowed last night, need to finish that up, but took the night off to spend the evening with the wife.
Niece gets to do her graduation thing tomorrow after graduating last year. Her Fiance graduated this year so they get to do that together. Then meet and eat italian after that. Goin to moms Sunday for Mothers day.
Hope yall have a great weekend

Family Farm for bird food, then to Rural King so my DW could get some "summer" muck boots. Rural king had some small amount of ammo on the shelf, but at 9 bucks for a box of .22 it can stay there.
Nine? I paid 16 this week and grabbed it! Ammo is seriously scarce. Probably not going down for a long, long time. These boxes were 100 count, nothing special, but it was there. Even if I won’t be using it, I think I’ll have more value in that than in the paper I traded for it.

@Neb Years ago I was going to be drinking my meals through a straw for over a month, at least that's what the dentist told me. After 5 or 6 days I wanted meat so I went and bought one of these little B&D food processors, cost about $25. It worked great. Want bacon or sausage with mushed up scrambled eggs? Toss it in the chopper! Chicken, steak, pork chops, ribs, just cut the meat from the bones, you're only limited by your imagination. You don't have to turn them into soup, just chop them to the consistency you'd normally chew something before swallowing. Besides, with something this major you need protein for red blood cells etc to heal up.

Actually I used that little chopper for years. Mine only had a pulse button. It was really handy for chopping plant material for tinctures.

Thanks.

The Princess has a similar device.

But you have me thinking...

Those bacon bits she purchased last week would go well with eggs and shredded hash browns.

You do what you have to do!

This made me think of the movie "Red River". Walter Brennan lost his dentures in a card game to an Indian... The indian kept them in his pocket except when Brennan had to eat! (John Wayne movie)

Beautiful snake.
Somehow meat, eggs, bacon, etc in the blender sounds absolutely disgusting.
Excuse me - NO! No such thing as a beautiful snake!!!! EEeeewww!!! Bad. . .bad snake - bleck! (Can you guess my phobia?) I've never met a mouse or spider bigger than my foot. Also, 99% of the snakes I've ever encountered are rattlers so am good with not liking them.

Have had company from out of town.
Texas.
Grand daughter and I went shopping.
Granny needed more dirt for another raised bed.
She helped Granny pick up few more plants.
She got to pick out 2 plants.
She was thinking of me and Strawberry when she picked them out.
I now have 2 healthy looking Strawberry plants in a window box.
So to her thinking, she has Strawberry the dog at her house.
And I have Strawberry(plants).
What she doesn't know is I have allergy to Strawberries.
It's the thought that counts.
She's coming by Saturday to help Granny finish planting garden.
I still have to get more dirt before Saturday.

Grandkids are so nice to have around, ours are all grown up sure do miss them not having time visiting time. Most have families now.We really enjoyed them when the ywere young.

@Peanut, we just got a new food processor yesterday! Raccoons managed to smash the old one. My brother used it on some liver and cucumber I believe. We're having an experimental concoction for dinner tonight.

Been having internet trouble and been distracted. I've been having kidney stones again. I did manage to do more cleaning and finally unboxed mom's NuWave coffee maker and set it on the counter (after thoroughly cleaning the counter). I next need to find a way to make it easier for her to make her own coffee or something. I don't know where to begin with that machine. LOL. I fell asleep trying to read the instructions. Maybe my brother will use it (since he likes coffee) and be able to make some for her. It would be nice for him to do more.

Friend's tortie cat had 4 adorable kittens. I'm fighting the urge to bring them all home. Our youngest male cat got out of the isolation room that he's been in with his sister. He got beat up by another cat and went into hiding. I went to show my brother that I'd found him and the poor thing panicked and ran and hid in my brother's closet. The cat's sister is freaking out because she doesn't know where her brother is. I'm hoping he'll come out so we can put them back together again. They've only spent one night apart ever (when she was getting spayed).

Been fatigued and trying to get myself motivated to do stuff. I need to force myself to work on my bathroom floor this weekend so I can have the sheet vinyl installed before my friend comes out to finish hooking up the water supply lines. It's going to suck crawling under the house again, but it needs to be done. I'm waiting on my brother to empty the kitchen trash can (it's too heavy for me to lift).

Since our landline phone system's base unit got fried during a power surge, Mom had to order a new one. It just arrived today-- base unit and 4 handsets. I set up the base unit, helped Mom set up her handset, gave my brother a handset and charger, and set up the one in my room. I'll need to run the power cord through conduit so it doesn't get chewed.

I also need to get some pest block great stuff to patch a hole in the ceiling of the pantry where mice are getting through. They even chewed through wire mesh.

Sorry about the kidney stones Zanne. Hope you canpass them ok. Hubby had them twice once in 1996 and again in 2000.

His mother sent him a write up from the paper from a reputable place like Mayo or John Hopkins [ forgot who ] that said coffee helps decrease them,so he has been a coffee addict since, but so far it or something is working,he hasn't had one in 21 years. :dunno:.

Had some kittens.

Long story short...friend came to visit in brand new car. I asked him to pop the hood to take a look at the engine, found a cat that had hitched a 150 mile ride.

Kept cat, found out she was pregnant.

As of today, I have kittens.

This morning I did the weekly shopping, got home and repackaged the meat into 2 person size. Everything is put away now, need to work outdoors. I noticed that while I was putting thing away and running the seal-a-meal it started raining..... Might try to do a little in the rain, but I am not happy... But Hey, it's a nice day if all else fails the TV works ;)

Cool today , high in low 50s, so not comfortable outside for me.
(Blood too thin)

May tinker in garage a while.
Might paint the tailgate I made for the trailer I bought last week.

Wife says we're not going anywhere today , and we're having Sloppy Joes for lunch...I like them once in a while.😬

Watching Tombstone Territory , waiting for Bat Masterson.
Be glad when they bring back Rifleman.

Y'all have a pleasant Saturday.

Jim

The garbage company parked a big dumpster at the crossroads over by the river. They do that every couple of months for large items that can't be picked up by the weekly garbage truck.

Anyway, took a large truck load of trash over, had cleaned out the shop, picked up all the baler twine and bale wrap left over from feeding cattle this winter. Intended to come back and get another load but the dumpster was almost full. They haul it away once it's full, have to wait until next time now.

It is auction day here at one of my cousin's farm. Her husband passed two years ago, and she passed a few months ago. Their children took their special treasures, and the rest goes to auction and the children get the proceeds. The amount of stuff that was there, they'll be going all day. So much stuff...3 buggies, 3 wringer washers, a huge tent of household stuff, at least a dz different harmonicas, yard stuff and furniture galore. I got a box of hand embroidered pillowcases and dresser scarves that cousin Alice had made ($5) and an antique kids tea set with an antique kids puzzle for $5. Little granddaughter wanted the tea set. Lunch was put on by the Amish school, Whispering Pines. They served burgers, potato salad, a drink, and a piece of pie. So much more stuff that would be interesting to bid on, but three hrs there was enough for me. Thinking about going to the bigger town for some fruit trees.

You do what you have to do!

I managed sloppy joes last night but had to use a knife and fork. So The Princess will brown some ground meat for me to go with an onion casserole tonight. After all ground meat is ground up steak. She will have a real steak .

I got out to the shop to replace the flex shaft for my Dremel tool. I have no excuse for being a brute last week when installing the flex shaft on the tool last week. I ended up forcing the drive end of the shaft up into the sheath rendering it useless.

While packing things up I realized I didn't have small drill bits so I placed an order for a set on Amazon. I theoretically already have a set but my buddy has adopted that set so I will let him keep the old ones.

Getting back at it.

Ben

woke up feeling fine, did sleep 9 hours
Glad you had relatively mild side effects, Sonya!

We're going to Sams in the big city today
At Sam's, were there lots of shortages or price hikes?

Ben, I'm so glad your surgery is done and you are mending well!

Last couple of days, I walked and walked dogs. Big surprise. LOL
Yesterday, went to visit a friend and on the way home, DH's jeep died at the grocery store. I had been driving his since mine started dying randomly a couple of weeks ago.
Just got his jeep towed to the mechanics. Will be glad when our issues are resolved with both jeeps!

I did make and PC the mac and cheese and is a much better consistency than the last time and the noodles are not mush at all. We will have some this evening.

Grandkids are so nice to have around, ours are all grown up sure do miss them not having time visiting time. Most have families now.We really enjoyed them when the ywere young.
2 Nieces and great nephew and great niece came in to celebrate my youngest sister's birthday.
These were her grandchildren.

Grand daughter and I planted the strawberry plants into the coal bucket.
I had long sleeves and rubber gloves on.
As I am allergic to strawberries.
We also planted four Celeories into the window box.
We painted the water pump red, coal bucket is painted black.
We got few chores done.
So we celebrated with sugar free chocolate popiscles.
She curled up in my chair, tooted, sighed great big, took 45 minute nap from all her hard work this morning.

Grand daughter called Granny, "I need your help"?
She was crying, upset.
Seem she got a Duck for Easter.
Donald Duck is getting too big for his area(small dog kennel).
And her dog at her mom's house keeps trying to eat Donald Duck.
So Granny will be taking Donald Duck off her hands.
Already informed my cousin that grand daughter and I will be bringing Donald Duck to her house next week.
Ahh! The joys of being Granny.;):):dancing:

Today at work our crew pulled the planks out of a railroad crossing and it was full of snakes. They were about 2-3 feet long and their coloring mimics the coral snake, but opposite. (Red touches black not yellow.) They looked like scarlet king snakes. Only thing is, scarlet king snake range ends 400 miles southeast of here. I've been looking up snakes with that pattern for an hour with no luck. Still haven't figured out what they were...
