Another family member has passed away. Four in 5 months. Ex bro in law who had contacted me over the last few months, I had always considered him family, my in-laws were the only family he had left but he was too conservative right wing for them. He had cancer. By the time he was diagnosed, he had less than a year. Make that phone call. Send that card. You never know.

The "new" Club Car! Previous owner put different seats on it! Gotta go inspect it thoroughly! Think I'll hit the pool float for a while (🍻) and let Hubby mess with for a bit!!😃

Wishing you EXTRA luck!! Say hi to the Karens!!

Well, it's your fault, lol. I went to the regular store that we use, and then decided I would stop at another store that I haven't been in for quite some time. So I walked through, grabbed a couple items and headed for the checkout.

I get in line only to notice the lady running the register had the ultimate Karen cut, so much so I actually laughed out loud. Now I have the people in the checkout lanes looking at me like what's wrong with you, that made me laugh harder, lol.

I swear whomever cut her hair had to be using a tom turkey for reference. I reached for my phone as I was gonna grab a pic but left it in the car.

I am not joking, they must call it the tomtom. Her hair looked just like this turkey.

I won't say welcome to the 4in5month club but your not alone here. And expecting it doesn't make it any easier. My condolences...

Taking a break, got all my jalapeno and thai peppers cut up and in the dehydrator. Serrano's are next.

..Ideally, it's Always Best before, when possible, ie: If you know you've got a surgery / heavy-duty course of Antibiotics coming up - Load-up on the 'low-key' Pro-biotics (ie: unsweetened yogurt, kefir, etc, as MB, there, suggests..) and that'll help 'counter-balance the die-off' (of Much of the 'good' bacteria-sets in the gut / throat, etc, which get wiped out along with the 'Bad' bacteria, etc) so you don't end up with an over-run of bacterias / yeast-growths you Don't want an excess of (Candida, etc)

..But, you Can also take them 'in parallel' / post, ie: Acidophilus is a good one for that 'counter-balancing', mid-course..

I wonder if having to take 4 antibiotic pills 1 hour before dental procedures counts. Anytime I get so much as a cleaning I have to take antibiotics because I have prolapsed valves in my heart. I'm guessing more than one day of taking probiotics would be good. I saw discussion of Acidophilus but have no idea what it is. I do like yogurt though. That sounds the most appealing to me.

Patchouli, I'm sorry for your losses. Losing just one family member is tough, but so many in such a short time period is extra awful.

Curmudgeon, I've seen people with those hairstyles and it always looks weird.

Backpacker, I feel the same way. But then I also wonder if maybe they like how it feels and don't care? I don't know. I don't care what people think about what I wear. I wear what is comfortable whether other people like it or not. But I don't get crazy hairstyles or anything. I don't even wear makeup- but I never really have.

I slept until almost 3pm today because I was up late last night and am exhausted from yesterday. Trying to motivate myself to do something productive. Might get up and do some cleaning and cooking. I need to cook the mushrooms before they get slimy.

Sometimes I see people and think to myself, who in the world thinks that looks good.

I swear, point those wings more forwardish and lose the beard and that IS what her head looked like, right down to the coloring :D.

I blew out my outside water lines, drained all the hoses and put them away. Turned off the gas to my lawn mowers and ran them until the ran out of gas, took the batteries out of them and set them in the shop on trickle chargers.
I have been wondering why there was always a wet place in the pasture. I figured it out today. I have a leaky shut off valve and a broken pipe. Something to fix next spring.
I'm about 99% ready for the cold. I'm usually not at this point till sometime in mid November.
For some strange reason we still have irrigation water on so my pasture sprinklers have to wait till they turn it off.
OK, I could walk across the pasture and turn the valve off but I think I'm suffering from Covid lethargy. 😄

Do they not have a mirror and and a hairbrush!??

:dunno:

She even had the back cut and it was brushed straight up just like the turkey tail feathers. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be that way, lol.

If we hadn't been talking about Karens before I left, I might have been able to get by without laughing.

I really wish I had gotten a pic, I've never seen anything like it.

The gas tank had the rubber seal from the cap in it😮! So Hub cleaned the tank ( had to lift the body to get it out) and now cleaning the carb!! Was a really nice one in it's day (it's a 1996)! Has a new starter, carb, and fairly new battery. The guy that owned it bought it new and worked on it back in March before he had a stroke. He had a heart attack 5-6 years ago and stopped golfing. It sat all those years. Hub will have it humming along!!

Hope you never see it again😁😉🤪

I may make a special stop next time I'm in town just to get a pic. I'm serious, I have never seen anything like it, lol.

Pearl, that looks like the Rolls Royce of turf. I'm happy with our 1988 Samurai, it's not much bigger than your golf cart, it's a tin top so it keeps us dry and dust free and it's been highly reliable and it does go pretty much where any four wheel ATV goes, the big plus was it only cost $1,700 and even when I installed a bigger engine it was still less than the cost of any new four wheel ATV I've looked at.

Pearl, I used to wrench on those carts for the City of Benson, along with the EZ-GO TXT Fleet carts, all gas-powered, though we had some electric Yamaha utility carts that didn't require much maintenance. I used to adjust the governors and make the carts go faster, but I had to ratchet the fleet carts back down after some moron laid his cart over while doing donuts or brodies or whatever, lol. Tell Hub he can find manuals for the carts online, and if he needs to turn up the speed (i.e. adjust the governor), I can help there... meh, I'm sure he has it under control, but the former owner might have cut the top speed of the cart with the governor. BTW, I have some dog-related pics I'm gonna put in your 'Bear' thread, I saw a signboard for 'Dogtoberfest' today and whipped in to check it out, lol. ;)

Anyway, I decided to run to town (again) since I'd have to go tomorrow if I didn't go today... I hit the library, which was open for business today, and picked up a stack of excellent Western novels, so I'm set for the next three weeks, lol. I like that RED CLARK O' TULLUCO series by Gordon Young, those are very entertaining... those books were written in the 1930s, so there are expressions in 'em which you won't find in modern Westerns. Gordon Young lived much closer time-wise to the Old West, so perhaps he picked up expressions which are long out of date... I also picked up some more books by Carter Travis Young, I still don't know if the two authors are related, but they both write decent Westerns. I bagged several novels by Walker A. Tompkins, haven't read his work yet but I'll give it a day in literary court, lol.

After leaving the library, I noticed the 'Dogtoberfest' sign and gathering of people, so I stopped to check it out... didn't bother buying a bracelet to drink beer at a bar they had set up in the compound, as I was gonna buy more beer at the store in a few minutes, lol. Regular admission was free, so I walked in and took a few pics, I'll post 'em in the 'Bear' thread shortly... went on to AutoZone to see if they possibly carried AMSOIL 4-stroke motorcycle oil, but no dice, I'm still waiting on word from the place that reportedly sells it, but they're closed till Monday. No worries, I can wait for the AMSOIL, though I may just buy synthetic Lucas 4-stroke cycle oil if I have to, it's supposedly compatible with the AMSOIL synthetic oil. Meh, I'll try to find the same brand first, then go with Lucas if necessary, both outfits make good oil. 😒

Went to WallyWorld to buy another 40-lb. bag o' birdseed, which is stupid expensive right now, GRRRRR!!! Also bought some dental floss, large buff envelopes for mailing newspaper clippings to my best friend in Coronado, canned cat food, beer, and a pack of hot dogs... dunno why I bought the dogs, I still have beef sausages or brats in the fridge, but some whim drove me to buy the dogs. "Health food, baby, health food!!!" Lol. Damn. After WallyWorld, I drove home, checked the cluster mailbox (empty, no news is good news, especially no bills), and parked at the ol' hacienda to unload. Watered the fruit trees and melon & pepper plants, but left everything else because it might rain tonight. Gonna chillax now and post up some material which is classic! Cold beer in hand! Not hungry yet either, so I'm good to surf the web! Lol. 🤪

P.S. Speaking of stoopid expensive, some of those golf carts go for $10K and more, even the electric ones!!!

@Patchouli my condolences. losing so many so close together Otis hard on the spirit.

I got to spend the day with bunch of my cousins. It was a wonderful day! I brought my dad with me and two of my cousins birthday her dad. Because in that hosted, her husband took the two of them out to lunch today so all the hens got to spend time together. They came back and join us for dessert. Abundant food and more abundant desserts. I’m always sad when I come back home though. Most of them live in South Jersey an hour and a half away from me. Do they want me to come down and teach them how to can. They are very concerned about the future. One of my cousins (only one left from my mom’s generation) is 82 years old and just took up basket weaving. The pics that she showed us were beautiful. She hast to get busy making baskets for all of us now.

Called it quits for the day, tired of cutting peppers. Tomorrow is pepper sauce day. Got 4 more regular pepper sauce bottles to fill then I'll make a big batches in quart jars. I'll order small bottles, fill them for gifts. Lots of family love pepper sauce.

(it's a 1996)! Hub will have it humming along!!

You can turn it into a '57, maybe?

Thanks Wingnut, if Hubby needs golf cart help I'll send you a PM! He's worked on carts for years, gas and electric. This was a nice one in it's day! The older one will be sold!

It's 0700, I've been at work for three hours already and got 11 more to go. It's a perfect way to spend a Sunday...🙄

Tomorrow will be more of the same. Then I'm not sure what we'll do for the next 6 days. We've got 3 switches to install next Monday, in a little town about 25 miles from this job site that we're at now. Then hopefully we'll be heading down to Bonner Springs, Kansas...

My older daughter came down from North Carolina for the weekend.
Today we are going to visit the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.
It’s only about two miles from us by air, but by road about 15 miles.
