We see tons of deer on the golf course. Tuesday when we were playing Mama deer ran out in the middle of the fairway, and a few seconds later two little ones followed her. She suckled right in the middle of the fairway. The course is tucked back in the woods, so we see several every week.

We've been seeing a lot of deer this summer - more than usual.

The new house will be interesting, I have no idea what lurks about. Once we have internet, I will program the BLINK cameras, then when I/we move, the rings will go active. Lori is scout on this mission, overwatch is 30 minutes out :(. Backup is closer, it will be OK.
Teddy will have in close overwatch, he knows his pack.

Pretty sure the guy next door will help, we will see. Mike and Andy can take care of business while i am enroute :)

Actual Armageddon is within 10 minutes :). Both can bury a Body.

Whoa Dave!! Meteor shower tonight??!! Or the Space Station dropped a lot of tools!! Nice quiet (few cicadas) night! Only came in because of pizza!!
I don't know, it's my job to be worried 1/2 to death. Who knows what lurks in the soybean fields :p

The soybean fields are full of death - the zombie kind. So GMOed and sprayed and tinkered with that even if they're not harvested, they will stand there and simply turn black without rotting. The soil is dead and the beans are zombies. I had to do some work in a field that shouldn't have been planted, (the wells for a community were there) and the farmer wasn't allowed to harvest. Those damned things just stood there for two years - maybe more now, I haven't been back - and never rotted. No weeds, no bugs, no life, just perfectly formed plants with beans in the pods that never rotted or opened or even fell over. It was truly creepy.
But, I doubt they are hiding anything that could pose a threat to your homestead, unless you try eating them.

Today there were turkeys and their chicks all over. Was on the road for four hours or so and it seems they were hanging out on the sides of the roads everywhere I went.

My white power possum is back. he's not as smart as "Smokey" He takes crackers right out of my hand and knows not to get on the counter.

the trash panda that was knocking on my front door hehe

This evening was AMAZING!! Four big bucks in the pasture to our east!! No fighting (yet), and many baby deer!! All going south to the spring fed tank. Many grasshoppers on the posts. Bluebirds were trying to bath in Bear's water bowls, he wouldn't allow it!!😮😉 And the big show....the neighbor to our south (cows got taken, he doesn't live on the property), brought a new boyfriend!!🤔😮🤮 They had an argument and the guy friend left! Yay! All in a day of the pool!;

A roadrunner is making a nest in an oak tree in the pasture to my south. Odd time of the year, unless it's going to really cool off!! I think she is a little off, there is no husband, they always build together! Two pair of scissor tails hanging around! A lot of deer, until the coyotes went off!!😮

Big buck day again today! Saw a few turkeys too!! The little bit cooler temps make a big difference!! Not related to the pool, but I just took Bear out, TWO OWLS!! One on his yard fence, and one on the carport!! Annie cat was hiding, no Baby Cakes to be seen, but Sammy was right at the door!!😮😮 Eeeek!

Beautiful night tonight! May have been the last 'night pool ' night!! Blazing hot day. No wind and very warm tonight. Great clear sky! Awesome Milky Way, big glow to the east, DFW area! The city lights are far away, but really light up the eastern sky!!☹️ Tomorrow will be hotter, 🙄🤔🌡️, but the last day of that, rain soon and cooler temps! It gets dark too early now!
