I can not get motivated. I don't know why.
Maybe stress or depression. Christmas does that to me.
I continue to eat things I know I shouldn't.
I'm an impulse eater. I eat something before I even think about it.
I will keep working at it and hopefully get enthused.
I don't even try to not eat sweets this time of year. What I will do is try to counter-balance what I eat. If I eat a cookie, I also have to eat some carrots or a salad or . . . . that puts something good in my system and it does keep me full longer. Not a perfect solution, but at least I don't just fill up on junk.
After Christmas, I will get more serious about it. We don't eat horribly even with the extra sweets, it's just eliminating the sweets that really helps.

Today I completed blood work for a follow on checkup, my A1C was 6.4, not normal but much better that 11+ of 6 months ago... The fall from 11 to 7.5 only took 3 months, this last reading was not where I wanted it but considering there was virtually no exercise in the mix, it isn't all bad. Plus it covered the Thanksgiving Holiday.

I just got some new hunting boots, maybe if I start walking to break them in it will help.... ya that's a good story, a good reason to go walking... I'm just working on my A1C... Now, if I can just think of some extra "weights" I can carry to complete the mix... :)

That's amazing! Good job. Was the drop of A1C all on your own or did you get help from meds?

Urban: I don't know what A1C is but it sounds like you did well!

I am starting to feel sick, like a cold coming on. I guess the vodka didn't prevent the dentist germs.....
We'll see what happens to my diet if I get a full blown cold, or flu, or ...covid ( haven't had it yet as far as we know)

I am taking a pill with every meal and I changed my diet (dropped 20+ pounds in the first 3 months). My sugar numbers were dropping with the diet but not as fast as I was hoping for.. So, I asked for the pill my son suggested (he is an MD) and the first fall from 11 to 7 was diet, the last little bit has been with the pill. Honestly, I am just trying to avoid the needle....

Bone broth my dear and a soak in a nice hot epsom salts bath. (Some extra vit. D wouldn't hurt either.)

didn't get sicker, feeling better today, just went to sleep early, had another shot of vodka plus a gummi

Week 2 day # 6

going to make chicken noodle soup today, just in case

I figure this is the right place to ask this question, when is the right time to dump your old "fat" clothes. In the last 7 months I have gone from a 42" waist to a lose 38", but now I have a pile of 42" dress pants and jeans... Same with shirts.. So I am trying to figure out should I take all the larger sized items and donate them to GW or should I be cautious and hold on for a bit?

I keep a few sizes, ya never know!!

My size never changes much so I never get rid of anything based on size. I am size large even if I am perfect weight, or things will be too short, too small on my hips etc. What I have noticed lately, there is shrinkflation in size also. Older clothes I have I still fit, but if I order something new, or try at the store, that same size is now too small

I am in the same predicament. I began at a size 42 waist, but now I'm at a very loose 38. Since I wear shorts 99% of the time, I figured it would be an easy swap, but cargo shorts are unavailable around the globe. I did toss all my 42 and 40 waist pants, but am keeping my 38's until I can find replacements. I'm hoping that it is due to being the mid of December, they are not stocking cargo shorts (my other half calls them purse shorts), but as the weather gets warmer, they will get them back in stock.

When do you plan on wearing them again?
If your answer is never, set them free just as you set those extra pounds free.
Note before you donate them, weigh them. You’ve not only lost the weight of your midsection on your body, but the weight of those clothes from your home 😁💕

They are trying to make fat people feel better. Yeah sorry, I am not politically correct.

I still wear the size jeans I wore 10 years ago.
Granted, it was a sad day 10 years ago, when I had to graduate from 33" to 34" :( .
The good news is, inches are still accurate:).
The last 2 pair I ordered online, fit perfect... same as the old ones.

weigh naked !

weigh naked !
Since @havasu now has accurate digital scales, you need to do one or the other consistently.
My clothes and shoes add 4.8 lbs to my 'naked' weight (yes, I just measured it).
Doing both and thinking they should be 'about' the same, will drive you nuts!

i weigh in morning before breakfast for my official weigh in for the day.

i am keeping my weight within a few pounds so far of my lowest weight. i feel real good about that since being less active right now. i am doing various exercises to stretch my bad leg tendons and get more mobility in it and hopefully reduce some of pain from past troubles..seems i am gaining on it too.

i fully plan on come spring time to be ready to hike hard and be the morel king in finding that tasty shrooms.i have a spot remote and very hard to get to and want to be ready for it...along with new places i want to search out.

i started in on crunches/half sit up things this week. i use to do 300 a day...thats a ways off i can tell you that..only doing 20 at a time...next week i will double it if i can to twice a day. do 90 reps with dumbbell twice a day too. its not much but anything and everything ads up.

found i can join local place for $37.50 for 3 months since i am a senior..over 50 is a senior. i may join just to do step machine.

day # 7 of week # 2
tomorrow I will weight myself again

today I am going to make fajitas, promised husband and now have meat to use for them
I won't eat a lot of that, really don't like tortillas, what not to do with bread lol
I might have the leftover chicken noodle soup

well, you have that backwards, they USED to, now they care more about using less material and maximizing profits
I have old pants size 12 that fit perfectly fine ( now , me 25 pounds overweight) , I ordered size 16 to have extra room for barn work and to put stuff under, and I can't get them closed.
