My dad had a Citation Turbo Twin when I was young. I know I can fly that little plane landing it might be a problem though. 🤣☠️🤣☠️
Landing is easy, walking away from it isn't. I hated landings.

Today was busy! Worked about 4 hours this morning. Oldest made up two loaves of sourdough to rise and then went with his dad to work for the day. Accompanied the youngest on his driving test and then to the DMV for his test and his license. Took him to lunch to celebrate his accomplishment. As we were leaving the cafe, he spied a for sale sign in the window of a 1968 C10 Chevy step side that both the boys slobber over every time we stop at the cafe. It’s in rough shape but he called and left a message asking for details and price. We then went home and I baked the bread and made a German chocolate cake that we will be selling at an annual charity auction tomorrow. It has a dozen eggs and three sticks of butter between the cake and the frosting. My previous time of donating it at the auction it made $800. Based on how things seem to be going this year between donations and ticket sales, I’ll be happy if it brings $50. Now I’m lounging on the couch with a large purring cat on my lap.

Wondering why I heard something that sounded like an M80 out front. Likely some punks. Scared the critters. And that was all, that was it. Nothing else. No peeling wheels, no hooting or hollering. And no police either. 👮‍♂️ Darnit. (And how would you know what an M80 sounds like, Patch?) 🫠

Was trying to get rested but the dogs were going berserk and I heard Princess tearing stuff up in the kitchen. Went in and found her attacking something. An empty plastic cereal box had gotten knocked down and I saw her biting some poor possum on the behind. It had climbed inside, curled up, but its feet, tail, and but were sticking out. I got between her and the container, told her to back off, gently picked the thing up, got Princess and Fippy into the living room & shut the door, took the poor critter outside and dumped the container out. It stayed curled up playing dead until after I went back inside. Fortunately it absconded before Princess got back out there and looked for it.

Listening to thunderstorms and watching lightning off to my east, southeast. That batch will miss me. More coming my way shortly, going to be a rainy day! I'm home today, doing laundry, really need to do some cleaning 🙄! Coffee seems extra good this morning!
My coffee seems extra good this morning, also! Woke up at 3:15. We get the rain starting tonight and through tomorrow.

I'll walk first.
Make copies of some papers for taxes.
Fertilize roses and fig tree that I finally pruned, yesterday.
Clean in pantry as there was a mouse, who has left the premises.
Make Crazy Crust pizza.

Yesterday was an off day, had to get a new "real" id.. PIA, then did some work in the raised beds, followed by a walk, and ending the day helping the wife fill pork/spring rolls.

My back has been out for 3 weeks and I finally got/started wearing a back brace, it's helping but I also need to start walking again but lack motivation. So I found that I can walk to the local market? (small mom&pop joint like 7/11) grab a soda, and walk back, the circuit is 1.5 miles. But that didn't do much, so I decided to do my next walk to the Target store (grab a soda and a red vines), 2.5 mile circuit. It was 40F outside, I'm walking at about a 5 mile per hour pace, with the back brace, vest, and light jacket I was sweating by the time it was completed.

you would not get me into a little plane if you paid me a billion dollars

I hate flying to start, big regular ones are bad enough
Hate landings love take off in the big planes.

First time I ever flew it was up in northern Maine in a little prop float plane. That was fantastic. That pilot (still remember his name, Scotty Skinner) was something else. When he found out it was my first time in a plane (I was 28), he had me sit in the seat next to him so he could tell me every move the plane was going to make so as not to frighten me.

Two things on my bucket list involve planes, but unfortunately I'll never be able to complete one. Always wanted to fly on the Concorde. Other is to fly in a Stearman.

A ‘69 chevy stepside is my favorite rig. There was a real design flaw though. Those rocker boards are going to be toast and will need to be completely replaced- not a horrific thing but if not obvious, they’ll wanna look 👀

have you gone to a chiropractor?

After tallying up the latest aggravating health issues, I am only slightly damaged. Getting ready for my morning 5 mile country road walk.

Looking forward to warmer spring weather, sunshine and frocking lambs, kids, and calves , but not tearing down and rebuilding my small tractor, feed, and tool barn. We had rain almost daily since fall and somehow, unbeknownst to one such as myself, it rotted out the footers and floor around the edges. It had been going on for years, but not noticeable until all the rain this year.

Since I no longer keep leather goods or feed in there, I will build a single wall on a concrete slab this time, but will have to raise the ground level in that area so water runs off. I thought such construction days were behind me, but alas, I was wrong.

Good to see you around, it's been a while since you posted!!

I had too much porch sausage when I cleaned mine out, so I canned a bunch. Now it's ready for white gravy and biscuits.
Animal chores this morning, then little granddaughter, Levi the neighbor boy, and I went into our town to drop off a bunch to the thrift store. Then some thrift store shopping, a stop at the hardware store for wire, the post office to pick up mail, and the amish grocery. Lunch at home, and need to get some energy up to go pound in t posts to get the turkey run straightened out. It's cold out. A fire later for sure.

I second the suggestion for a chiropractor. But not just any chiropractor, find one that graduated from Palmer College or Chiropractic. 1/3 of all chiropractors graduated from Palmer so it shouldn't be to difficult to find one.
I have been to many different chiropractors and most of them just want to push, twist and crack. Maybe it will feel better for a bit but it isn't fixing the problem. Last September I was visiting Michigan and my back and hips were really bad due to sitting all day in the cars and on the airplanes, and because my back always hurt anyways. A good friend is a chiropractor and she took X-rays and showed me the problem and gave me an adjustment which helped quite a bit for my week long vacation. When I got back home I went to my chiropractor, showed him the X-rays and the written radiologists report and he shrugged and said I am getting old. Called the friend and she said he didn't know how to fix my problems so she looked up a Palmer graduate in my area and sent me to him. He took more X-rays and called my friend and compared each others X-rays and opinions and started me on regular visits, 3 times a week for a few weeks then twice a week and now once a week. I am seeing very noticeable improvements in my discomfort, my walk, my sleep, and my overall health (digestion, mood, energy, etc)
At the 3 month mark he took new X-rays and every thing that was out of place is at least 25% better, with several being over 30% better and a couple being 90% better, meaning my hips, back, and neck are getting closer to where they belong.
If the other chiropractor was doing any good why did I have so many things out of place?

This what a good chiropractor will do on your first couple of visits. This is the first and only time (aside from my friend in Michigan) where a chiropractor started with X-rays and showed the X-rays and measurements and related problems. (Subluxations are places where things are out of alignment.)

(read this part real fast like at the end of a TV commercial: I am not a paid spokesperson for Palmer College of Chiropractic, the testimonial is given voluntarily and without compensation, do not try chiropractic adjustments yourself, do not have a chiropractic adjustment while skydiving or scuba diving, do not use my credit card to pay for your chiropractic adjustment, chiropractic adjustments should only be performed by Palmer graduates.)

Woke up early, again, watched a bit of YouTube and then sat at the computer. Mocked up a few ideas for stickers for my boss (at my real work) and printed them out for him to consider.
Today is my daughters 21st birthday. (she doesn't drink so no thoughts of buying her the first legal drink) I sent her a text and she replied. I then offered to take her to lunch, but she had just eaten but offered a later time of 3pm. Since her mom and I separated she has mostly avoided me and barely talked to me so I am happy for this opportunity. I will let her pick the place but hopefully it is somewhere I can get something low on carbs, I am a full week back on a no/low carb diet and feeling better. But wherever she decides I will enjoy the time and the meal.
Cold today, about mid-30's, and mostly cloudy with scattered very light flurries. The weather morons claim the skies should clear as the week goes on and temps should rise a bit. Maybe the snow will slowly melt and soak in real good. But hopefully not soak into my driveway, the mud trenches started forming in my driveway a few days ago. I guess I should toss some more wood chips into the ruts.
