I do know of this “mans” name.
Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
There are other suspects and multiple states involved.

We have a lot of farm crime in Ohio. It's mostly low life drug addicts but every once in a while it's a farmer who is doing well and is just taking advantage of the situation. Their actions often destroy their families lives not just there own.

About 10 years ago I saw signs around town saying that a rancher had been sick and when he was well enough to check his herd he found he was missing 40 bred cows. At the prices back then that was over $30,000. They never found them, he was pretty sure they went over the border. That was a huge financial hit.

Cattle theft off ranches and farms has sky rocketed in CA in recent years.
Last year I think it was there was a rash of fences cut, semi’s brought in and herds gone by morning. They took them back ways including cutting other fences to avoid main roads and checkpoints.
It’s getting really bad.

Glad you are a skilled marks-woman.

Just another day in paradise is all I can say. If they aren't persecuting them they are robbing them. Most private ranchers have been under attack for quite awhile now.
Hammonds and Bundy's and many we never hear about. Nothing we can do about it.
Looks like prophecy is happening all over the world. I keep putting myself into it too so it is not easy watching your world or what you thought was your world fall apart.
It has been happening to most of the world forever.:dunno:

There was some of that here a few years ago. The LEO's even found people hiding calves and goats in their trunks. Several truck were unloaded near the border and the cattle chased across. That quit when one cartel was pushed out and another took over. I guess they didn't want the attention it was causing.

Interesting!

LEO hands are tied. Look at the acts our LEO have to stand by and watch because some mayor or governor tells them to stand down. Stand and watch cop cars burned up, peaceful protesters attacked and while millions of cartels rule our streets and cities. While the leaders send them after Americans with a vengeance.
Anyone who thinks we can't stop all this border crime is not thinking at all. We have the most advanced survalence systems in the world now that can spot a pissant 6 feet underground from space.
Yet we can't see millions of illegals flowing in and many tons of drugs, Bull Crapola .

Not to mention the "good ol boys clubs" many farmers have become accustomed to where they get into office and then use their power to favor their friends and partners in crime. One town near Columbus was literally dissolved because the mayor and police chief were using ticket revenues for the entire income which became lavish for a town of thirty people. LOL

And then there is that too.:ghostly:Doesn't help the good ones when this happens.

Years back we had a Farmer that owned a large cattle truck. As a favor to his farm neighbors he'd take their livestock when he took his to market. This went on for years until one of the neighbors became suspicious. Farmer with the truck was selling the heaviest weight livestock as his the lightest in weight as his neighbors.

A man from my hometown, had a son with the same name, only junior and senior. Senior died, leaving his wife with his property. One day, Junior showed up with a shot gun, held it on his mother and took more than 100 head of cattle. I know nothing more. Junior had a sister who married to my dad's brother. They were rough people.

Back in the day, it would get a thief hung for rustling/raiding. In Texas, some of the towns still have the markets that ended up occurring because of the hanging. There'd be a hanging announced, people would come into town for the event. Eventually they'd start bringing items to sell at the town square where the hanging was going to take place...chickens, pigs, food, farm items, etc. So that, at least in some towns/cities, they have First Monday Markets or First Monday Trade Days even today. So, once a month, say on the first Monday of a month, there's an area set up for the vendors to sell their junk, I mean stuff.
You guys already knew this, right?
Wait, I'm editing. ...the weekend before the first Monday of a month is when the first Monday market would be. Sorry for misinformation

We have these in my neck of the woods, but we call them trade days or swap meets now days. :)

If I saw that movie, it was long ago. I don't remember anything about it. I will have to look for it.

Weedy you would love that movie. He was known as the hanging judge and if I'm not mistaken it is a true story.
Bean was the poster boy of power corrupts absolutely.

Trailor not very good so I put this up.

It looks like he was an interesting man. I have heard the name before. Maybe there was even a restaurant named after him?
