I've needed to go grocery shopping since last Thursday... Guess I have to tomorrow... I hate shopping... if starvation wasn't the alternative I'd never go in a grocery store.

I need socks, lots of socks. I just used heavy bleach on all my wally tube socks, didn't get the stains out. Time to buy another 18 pairs and start over... (its the white ones with grey bottoms). I have to buy a new batch every couple of years. I could just buy a pair of slippers but then I'd have to buy a pipe... I hate pipes... ;)
I'm with you about shopping. I prefer shopping alone so that I can stay focused and get in and out quickly. I write a list by area of the store--produce, meat, frozen food.

I have a couple thoughts and suggestions for you and your socks. Bleach does remove some staining, mostly in natural fibers such as cotton, linen and wool. It does not work so well on synthetic fibers. Non-chlorine bleach works better on synthetic fibers.

When I have something that has a difficult stain, I soak it, sometimes for days. I started soaking when my daughter was in cloth diapers. I used a 5 gallon bucket and used the smallest box of BIZ, a non-chlorine bleach. I put some water in the bucket. Diapers were pre-rinsed as soon as they were changed, and then soaked in the bucket with the BIZ. I would think that soaking your socks in a similar fashion would work as well. Those diapers never had stains.

How about socks? I find it can be a challenge to find good socks. I really prefer natural fibers, but I find many socks that fall down and get into my shoes irritating. I did discover that Costco carries a sock that is around 80% wool that are my absolute favorite socks ever. They are not the typical bulky wool socks, are high enough on my calf to cover the gap under my pants, are very comfortable and keep my feet warm. They come in a 6 pack. There are men's and women's varieties and I just paid $19.99 for a six pack. A six pack for men is a little less expensive, maybe $17.99. They do suggest washing them inside out because they get fuzzy otherwise.

There are two types of countries. Those that use the metric system and those that have put men on the moon.

Love this. And to the moon before all the fancy large computers these days. Slide rules and pens and paper did it.

I voted. Too many people died for me to have that privilege to let it go to waste.
Have dishes to do after I eat lunch
Have some new clothes I ordered online to wash and dry
Otherwise another rainy gray day to sit and read

Our moon shot success was due to a bunch of women doing and rechecking all the computations on paper. That was NASA's first computer pool. No kidding, those women were called "the computers".
My first electronic computer had the same power as the computers in the lunar capsule. 2 MHz and 4K of memory. After a month I upgraded to 48K (more memory than you could ever use). My "time/space" game needed 512 K just for the array and another 2.8 K for the rest of the code. It had to wait for the 386 computer a few years later.

Most all of the thrust and speed math is performed in metric notation. You won't find pounds or feet per second at NASA. They convert everything to the imperial notation for the public. The science fields use metric notation.

Took a early lunch so I'd miss the noon voting crowd. I was wrong! Never saw a line this long. I'm proud of my fellow Voters for turning out in mass!!!!! I asked one of the Officials if it's been like this all day? No all of the voting terminals in the entire county were down for an hour. They just got everything back up and running.

Now I got all of these scenarios running though my head. Hacker intentional or unintentionally brought it down? How many Voters left in anger and didn't vote? A programing bug that's national? Hillary revenge?

Voted. Post Office. Thrift stores, new doctor and then Walmart. I actually bought a new fake Christmas tree so I can quit getting crappy ones from thrift stores. $40. A lot for me but it should last. Already set it up but that is as far as I have gotten. I love Christmas season!

Went for follow up Orthopedic appointment, he cut me loose.
I can go back to regular yoga class, pain will tell me if I can do something.
Started weight training this afternoon, 1.5 pounds ankle weights for my 5000 steps.
He told me I could try gradually working up to 10ooo steps.
He was happy with progress. Whew! Got my first walking marathon 17th November 2018.
Next followup appointment in January at 0800 hours.
Took 3 tries to find parking around the court house, but finally go to vote.
Went on line to local company, I never shop at to be removed from their mailing lists.
Can't shop there:
#1 reason to expensive
# 2 reason overpowering scents they use in the shop, some of that stuff triggers seizures,
those I would rather do without if possible.

I also love this time of year. Mine goes up this weekend . We will decorate this weekend also. Along with all my santas.

Wow, Sewing. Didn't know they make you vote. What if you're sick or your car breaks down?
I worked. I voted. Came home and picked green tomatoes for an hour. They are starting to freeze. Most of them are the small yellow ones. Got 4 buckets full and they are laying on newspaper to ripen. Our upstairs room looks ridiculous....9 watermelons, 150 kiwanos ripening, and a floor of tomatoes. The bed has plates of herbs drying.

The television is full of election results. As I was looking for something else to watch, I heard someone who is representing oil and gas speak about the loss of jobs, etc. if one of their agenda's is not approved. I am sure my blood pressure just went sky high in a matter of seconds and I turned it off, completely off. I for one will be so glad when this is over! I am so sick of the oil and gas industry getting so many subsidies that they turn around and use to hire lobbyists with to ram through their agendas. They have been driving all over with their big signs on trailers, trying to convince everyone how essential voting yes was. There was a home that blew up, killing a couple of people because of their negligence in Colorado. I'd bet if they had no regulations they would be drilling in school yards and back yards. I will always vote against anything that has to do with the oil and gas industry.

I am going to watch movies and go to bed early.

I've been having dizzy spells since Fri night so decided to go to the Dr this morning. Took the kid with me. We were eating lunch and she gets a phone call, caller id says Fed Beu of Inv. My mind says scam, no way is the FBI calling her but its a New Mexico number so I called it back. The lady that answered said FBI *** office. She started laughing because the first thing out of my mouth was "Holey *&^# what did you do to make the FBI call you?" The kid, being my kid and a smart alec said "I'll never tell!" and started giggling. Turns out someone in the office had mis dialed a number and hung up but not before it rang through. Good thing the FBI lady had a sense of humor...she probably has a smart alec teen girl too.

Started off the day with sleeping in as we were both tired from packing and gardening etc. We then decided since it was really hot outside to separate the lavender and thyme we had drying which is now done. I then listed them both on eBay for sale.

This afternoon I stain removed some clothing, put on a load of washing and brought the washing back in as it was dry in just a few hours. DH then filled both cars with fuel and put on his new tow ball and part of our load stabiliser bars and put the other bits for it in the boot of the SUV.

Tonight's dinner was the other half of our chicken, mushroom and corn pie and dessert another 1/4 of our homemade cheesecake between the two of us.

Fixed the chicken water again. Would someone PLEASE show the Chinese how to galvanize plate a steel waterer?! PLEASE!

Waterer was two years old when I noticed it would not hold water for more then a day. It's a vacuum type. Chickens drink the water, level lowers and allows air in the water reservoir which in turn refills the rim for the chickens. I found a pinhole leak, bad galvanize job allowed water to rust though the steel. Wire wheel to buff the bad area and a touch of solder. Waterer is back in business.

Fast forward another 2 years. Another pinhole leak. This time a wire brush and epoxy to seal the new hole. Time will tell if the waterer heater will mess with the epoxy.

When I worked inside sales to government agencies I had my boss bring a stranger to my little office. FBI, and I immediately wondered what my ex had done now. Fortunately it was just background check for a secretary I knew better than rest of department. I did have to work with FBI about my ex for 5 years after divorce, and so I got nervous about them coming to dig up more stuff I never knew. But, those days are over. Ex passed in 2007.

Just got back from a run to Sam's club. Hate the traffic to get there and back. Should be set for about 3 months or so. They rearranged the darn thing again and people had to wander around looking for stuff which made the time involved that much longer *sigh*
Saw a total of 3 dead deer along the roads. I keep reminding the hubby to be careful in the mornings when leaves for work. They're the color of the tree trunks now here
Found out that the local grocery thats selling the store here was bought by the same company as the grocery in the bigger town near here. Now I don't have to fool with that traffic to get the same deals ( yay!) Can't wait for the change over. The new store will so much better price wise
