Me four. Hubby brought in a large bundle of fresh turnip greens last night. got them washed and wilted. Gonna cook some for supper and can the rest. He surprised me with them ,he usually brings home meat, not veggies. He doesn't eat turnips but he said he knew I did and I hadn;t had any fresh ones for a while. Sweet

It was one of those days where nothing really went to plan today but oh well there is always tomorrow :) . We had planned to do more house packing today nope that didn't happen and do garden work, yep that happened.

Started off the morning with seeing my friend in the aged care facility turns out the nurse was wrong and she didn't have a stroke (like she told DH) she just slept on her arm wrong during the night and it went numb  . She is now sitting in her usual chair but her Parkinson's is getting progressively worse unfortunately and she has more days where she cannot walk and her balance is impeded. We did have a wonderful time together though :) .

My VM companion then texted me to let me know another Sister had had a nasty fall on concrete and refused to stay in hospital but insisted on coming home to look after her husband who has the beginnings of alzheimers and just had a hip replacement operation. So now the both of them are limping and shuffling as my friend has put out her back, damaged her shoulder and has severe bruising. We decided to put aside our packing for the day to roast a chicken and some sweet potato and pumpkin and pick some fresh silver beet to take around for them. They were most grateful and it saves our friend from cooking when she is sore and injured.

We then went into the garden and weeded one garden bed and in between it in the back gardens and one in the front and mulched the one we weeded as well.

That was it for the day but we were happy to be able to help another family with our food storage and garden produce.

He is a thoughtful husband, Timmie.
I have a thoughtful one, too. But he can't get out shopping much anymore.
So he orders stuff online for a surprise. Baby chickens or turkeys usually.
Overslept this morning, just made husband breakfast with my first cup of coffee. Work and quiet night. Yesterday had grandson's eye dr appt after work and that took a long time. Am hearing a baby rooster first type crow this morning...thought we butchered the extra. Will have to track him down.

Childhood memory is a dish with potatoes and turnips cooked together, then mashed with butter, salt and pepper and daddy would put just a drop or two of vinegar over his. it was how he was served it when he was a kid.
I make it once in a great while but for some reason turnips are hard to come by around here and I don't know if canned turnips would taste the same as fresh in the recipe

Finally got the house put back together after having Estelle yesterday.
Granny has new game to play with her; "It's called pick up the toys before you leave."
We worked on it a while yesterday, she did pretty good.
So far this morning :
I'm up dressed, had at least one cup of coffee.
Took medicine.
Fixed my laptop back to WiFi not airplane mode.(Guess who)?
Vacuumed the whole house.
got trash gathered up, will take it out about 1100 hours.
Will get in partial walk with that, will figure out rest of walk later.
Need to finish up using the rest of that flat iron steak.
That was 5 pounds, big steak for me, tender though.
Need to do up a few dishes, dust furniture, see if I can figure out where to put Christmas Tree without moving lots of furniture.
Wonder how that flat iron steak would do as smothered steak, mushrooms, gravy, with homemade mashed potatoes?
May try it.

I found me a spot along the ditch behind the house for deer season that has a few trails going past it. Also saw some deer tracks in the edge of the field along the ditch. Then I went for a little ride on the ATV since I was on it anyway, nothing like taking a spin when the temps are in the low 40s :D.

Feeling more stabil today. I still get dizy when I lay down, look up or down but its so much better.

Went to the grocery store and bought hamburger meat. Haven't done that in quite a while, it was $3.20lb for 80/20!! Last time I bought it the price was WELL under $3lb. Holey moley!

Looks like I'll be cleaning the garage on my own. After cleaning our parents' garages years ago, I do not want to leave that kind of job for my kids to do. I mean inheritance.
Working later today.
I think this is a big problem all over America, myself included! I just keep sorting and hauling it out. Today I took a car load of my daughter's stuff to a thrift shop as she is doing a big clean out and sorting of her home, which was overdue.

Busy today in the mountain cottage.

Started the morning with hanging DH's load of washing on the clothes line as he was mowing and whipper snippering our neighbours home for which he gets paid. Last night I also found out that our online chemist was having a 5% off everything promotion so decided to order our years supply of iron tablets, arnica and peroxide. Just the arnica cream is $6 per tube dearer in our local pharmacies and each packet of iron tablets is $4 dearer per box  . This will make it easier and give us some breathing room when we move into our new home.

Then we went and took Tabatha to the vet for her yearly injection and teeth check, went and got a hose clamp for the ride on lawn mower to stop the deck sliding across and finally our cheap local independant service station got their bowser repaired so we filled up 3 jerry cans of fuel filled with E10 for the cars. That makes 2 more jerry cans of fuel we have built up our fuel stockpile with. This afternoon I ordered another brushcutter helmet with ear muffs, hard hat, visor and neck protection flap and a years worth of flea and tick drops for Tabatha for when we move as we will be near a creek where ticks will abound unlike here. Tabatha has now put on .89 kg since she turned up here as a stray and the veterinary clinic is really happy with her condition :) .

Back home again where we packed up most of one large pantry with paper plates, cups, bowls, plastic utensils and vinegar and bicarb in it. Then I packed all of the saved jam jars and a glass serving tray into boxes and that is 2 more boxes packed. We have now packed up 3/4's of the house in boxes :woo hoo:. Starting now to get rather muscle sore but it will all be worth it when we move on December the 12th.

DH is making pancakes and we are having cream and or butter, golden syrup and homemade strawberry jam for dinner.

Our children will be cleaning "our" hoard. Wife refuses to part with anything. Unless the wife goes first...

Got so tickled....had to get up early, help hubby in backing up the truck and attaching the trailer....and off he went to grandson's …..Kenny and he then left to go to the hay field and on the way, they found a helicopter on the ground with two guys there...one was working on the engine with a pair of pliers but needed extra tools which hubby did not have, but a truck soon appeared and someone produced tools...after the hay was loaded, hubby noticed the helicopter was gone..said he wondered about it..was not sure he would fly in it with a guy just working on it with a pair of pliars...LOL...so then he got home with three huge bales, 1100 pounds each...took awhile for us to figure out how to loosen the rachet strap...two dumbos working on it...LOL..and hubby had the bright idea we could roll the bales off into the yard...LOL..could not budge them..he left to get the tractor and I called Jay, the other grandson who appeared with his friend Patrick and they pushed them off like nothing was hard to do..and I wish you could have seen hubby's face as he came around the corner on the tractor and the job was done...now the fun begins when it has to be taken later to the critters.....

Did some grocery shopping (stocked up on chicken on sale) and hit the thrift shops. Came home and visited with shut in lady next door and then wrote three eBay drafts. So far, that's it. It will get cold today and tonight so I need to bring pepper plants in and find a place for them to be houseplants.

Space is at a premium in my home workspace. What to do with the spare ammo magazines? Saw a idea on Amazon! Then I can hang them on the backside of a shelving unit!

Last night I helped my son and his wife celebrate his birthday. I picked up the tab and asked his wife to pay the tip. I don't like putting the tip on the credit card and I didn't have enough cash on me. She was happy to pay the tip.
This morning, with less than 3 hours of sleep I went to the range and set up my silhouette targets and fired a 40 round match by myself. I did well enough to be happy with my score. It was 30 out of forty possible. It was one point higher than my best posted previous score. We got about 5 snow flakes while I was setting up the targets and then it started warming up. The wind was down around 7 to 10 mph from the SSW but I was dead on today. After drinking last night I thought it was going to be a waste of time but it turned out much better.
My upper back is trying to fall off so I am running a hot bath to soak in for a few hours. I am hoping that will relax the cramping and allow me to do the rest of the work I planned.

I have had a great day and am paying the price but I think it is a short term discomfort that will pass quickly. I hope you all had a better day than I did - just cause I love you all.:green man:

We went out to breakfast like we do every saturday.
Had to drop off one of hubby's trucks to get worked on
We went to the local Veteran's Day parade today. It was good turnout for what the weather was like
Wind was HOWLING today. Nasty cold wind chill. Never got out of the mid 30's and at 5pm it was down to 33 but thankfully the wind stopped.
Hubby's been hanging out watching war movies on tv all day lol He loves those things
We could be looking at a winter mix monday night. Have to wait and see
