I love pizza for breakfast, but I don't eat pizza very often. I have long thought it is healthier than cereal from the box that is coated with sugar. The traditional crust is not Keto, but there are ways to make it Keto friendly.

Pizza Is a Healthier Breakfast Than Cereal, According to a Nutritionist

One dietitian explains why pizza can be a healthier breakfast than cereal. Pizza lovers, rejoice!

A nutritionist just called pizza a healthier breakfast than cereal—a win for those of us who love a good slice. It turns out that all kinds of delicious pizza recipes could be a better choice than a bowl of America’s favorite breakfast food.

“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories,” registered dietitian Chelsey Amer told The Daily Meal. “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full and boost satiety throughout the morning.”

That may seem counterintuitive when you consider that pizza isn’t exactly a health food. But according to Amer, “A slice of pizza contains more fat and much less sugar than most cold cereals, so you will not experience a quick sugar crash.” Basically, it’s a more balanced way to start the day than with a bowl of sugary flakes.

To put things in perspective, a single serving of the very popular morning treat Frosted Flakes contains 110 calories, less than a gram of fiber, 10 grams of sugar and only 1 gram of protein. Still, there are even worse offenders: Honey Smacks is made up of nearly 56% sugar by weight, which translates to 16 grams of sugar per serving (about the same as a Twinkie!). That’s nearly two-thirds of the amount of added sugar an average woman should consume in a day according to the American Heart Association. Of course, there are cereals on the market that are healthier than a slice of pizza, but most any with a cartoon character on the front of the box falls short of a being part of a balanced breakfast.


Just keep in mind that while pizza may be lower in sugar and higher in protein than your favorite morning cereal, it can be very high in fat and salt. So, it’s probably best to save this breakfast-of-champions for when you have limited options and choose a better-for-you breakfast most mornings.
 
We dont eat pizza often. But when we did I always liked a cold slice the next morning. Makes since it will stick with you better than cereal.
Almost anything is better than cold cereal for breakfast. When I was teaching, my students would crash at 10 to 10:30 in the morning. It was just so apparent how breakfast in many American homes is missing the mark. I began talking to my students about how important a good breakfast was, telling them about protein and that some peanut butter, eggs, or some type of meat would stick with them. I also had a standard note that I would send home that let parents know that their child was hungry mid morning. It was all to help them figure it out so they could focus better.

A local pizza house here is the best Ive ever had. I avoided it for over a year when I moved here. mainly because I was on a roll to get into good shape again and I figured, I wont miss what I haven't had. Although all the locals swore by its quality.
Other than this place, fresh pizza is about a hour away and I rarely do frozen pizza. If im going to eat the calories,it will be 100% worth it and all the miles Ill have to huff to work it off.
So I finally gave in and had the best pizza ive ever had..
I don't eat it often mainly because between me and the dog..we will eat the whole thing. It will take us about two days..lol..but it is one of those occasional treats. I had some this summer, large thin crust, easy on the sauce pep, sausage mushroom extra cheese...
I was on a firewood choppin role, I wanted a cold beer. This activity is the only time Ill drink a few ice cold brews anymore, brew is just too fattening anymore. But this time I figured I might as well go all the way and get a pizza too..
So as I attacked 2 cords of firewood..I had beer and delicious pizza as I watched the timber across the mountain burn in a wildfire well into the night..kinda ironic but it was memorable.
Pizza is a new years treat too.. :)
 
I only eat 2 meals a day, don't need the calories of 3 meals. I eat breakfast around 11 or 12, then dinner around 5pm. Once or twice a month I go to the little town around noon. There is a guy from Chicago that has a little pizza place. I can get a slice and a trip to the salad bar for about $8, a good salad bar.

He has really good Chicago pizza, however I prefer NY style pizza. I guess beggers can't be choosers. Pizza Hut has an all you can eat lunch special sometimes, salad bar and 4 or 5 pizza's to choose from, as many slices as you can eat. 3 thin crust slices are my limit.

So, 2 or 3 times a month I have pizza for breakfast.

I had to google what Chicago style pizza was. I have had it, but it was more than 20 years ago, on a trip to Chicago. I knew that the toppings are upside down, but this explains why.
 
I love cold Pizza for breakfast! Had it this morning as a matter of fact.

Being a bachelor all my life I usually have simple breakfasts. Usually what is leftover from dinner or from the day before. If I have a day off I would cook something, but it wasn't often.

Now retired I could whip up whatever I wanted for breakfast! ... And usually eat cold pizza or leftovers from the day before anyway. Old habits are hard to break.
 
By leftovers I do not mean takeout. I always spend a day cooking for the week. Big pot of stew, soup, casserole, lasagna, roast… Then eat that until gone and fix another long-term dish. I do not mind eating the same thing for several meals in a row. I eat to live not live to eat, sustenance is sustenance for me. Grab something cold from the fridge, eat, put the rest back and I am good to go.

I have done this, cooking one day a week for the rest of the week. But, I don't eat food that is more than a couple days old unless it goes in the freezer. I cook and divide into meal sized servings. You can build up a variety of options over time this way. I used to buy sleeves of deli containers and lids to use for this. They stack up nicely in the freezer. The containers can usually be re-used a few times.
