@backlash a shave stick is similar to what you are using for your shaving but instead of coming in a bar of soap in a mug it comes in a stick form of soap that is more compact to store. You wet your face rub a little of the shave stick on your face, grab a damp shave brush and rub in a circular motion and it all foams up ready for your shave with a razor. It is designed similarly to your soap to soften the beard and condition the face to make it easier to shave.

1 shave stick will last DH about a year instead of shave foam, gel only lasting a couple of goes so they are far more economical to use.

Here is what we purchased for $3.36 ea instead of the usual around $9.95 ea -

I thought it was something like that.
I have never heard of it much less seen any.
I switched to a brush and mug years ago because of the cost.
I buy it on Amazon and put it in my shaving mug and microwave it so it fills the cup perfectly.
On block of soap will last for years.
Thanks for the info.

I bought two of these cute chicken coops for forty dollars each....and they gave me three large hens and a rooster....

Cut up ham that has been thawing in refrig.
Shaved about a third of it for sandwiches.(with knife).
Made up 2 packages of 3 each ham steaks bout 1/2 inch thick.
Cut the end off chunked up for ham and beans
Put the remaining third in freezer for Christmas day meal with all the trimmings.
Eating at home, when tired of ham and beans will turn it into white bean chili.

- By asking questions on our new insurance policy we found out that the rideon lawnmower is covered under our accidental damage cover saving a further $270.33 over insuring it separately.
- Today I purchased a backpack pole chainsaw and hedge trimmer off eBay using a 5% off promotion code save $14.75 on usual prices, around here we can only buy them for $800 plus and we purchased this one for $280.25, bargain :D . We have a lot of trees, shrubs and bushland to hack through so this will come in handy in combination with our chainsaws to clean up our new to us home when we move in.
- DH also purchased a 250 metre roll of 8mm sisal rope for use on the farm using a $10 off voucher saving us around $93.50 over purchasing it in the local shops here by the metre.

Picked up a sample of a new med from one of my docs. Gotta follow up with her next month and didn't want to do a 3 month script in case she decides to take me off of it. Meds are so ecpensive in not generic, I have to pick and choose what to do. She is good to work with me some on samples of stuff.
Also picked up some reloaded ammo from out local fun store. Never got any from him before, so I'm interested as to how good it performs.

This pension I could go 1 of 3 ways -

1) Buy silver.
2) Buy a 1 year pre-paid data voucher that are currently on sale ( was $525, now $315 ) and hopefully will stay on sale until Friday.
3) Stock up like mad on shelf stable staples.

I've got a full $300 to "play" with which is a crazy amount of money for me considering how I've had to make do and scrape by
with a grocery budget of $20 per fortnight for the longest possible time.
The shelves are looking a bit bare but I do have enough in stock to do without for another fortnight.
It means that Christmas will be a whole roasted chicken that I have been saving in the freezer and a lot of gratitude
to our Saviour for the gift of courage, stamina and endurance in getting through a horror year.
It won't be a whole cold ham, seafood and festive drinks for Christmas dinner if I go the voucher or the silver route.

This has only been possible because I've been digging deep and throwing everything at
getting rid of debt and now I feel very rich indeed - even on a pension.

The wife found a great sale on meat and bought some Lowe's gift cards. Combined with the 4X points certificate we now have enough points to get $1 off on gas for 35 gallons which will fill all our cans. So, a $35 savings on gas plus more than that on meat.

I bit the bullet and made a very hard choice.

I brought the one year data voucher.
So, this pension I paid rent and brought the voucher with nothing left over.
No groceries.
No nice Christmas goodies.
Nothing.

This sacrifice means that I'll have no more internet or phone bills for the
rest of next year AND I brought it for $315.10 instead of $525.00.

Sometimes making the right, adult choice is hard.

Regardless I'll chose to live with gratitude in my heart.

Still crocheting.
Got to run errands this afternoon.

Need to do dishes this afternoon sometime.
But will probably take nap when I get home from errands.
Had breakfast for brunch, probably have grilled cheese, turkey, and ham for supper with chips.
Was supposed to go to doctor Wednesday.
He cancelled just as well transportation forgot me.
Rescheduled doctor appointment for Feb.
Put up small desk top Christmas tree on end table.
Grand daughter is just touches the tree with her fingers.
Might straighten the star tonight, might not.
All in all fairly good day.
