Thanks for thd pics Meer. I need to prune mine as well. I tend to not cut so much. Thinkin i need to get into them more after seeing yours.

Your :welcome:, hubby said old guy said not to leave more than 6 or 8 shoots on fig tree so he did number on it.
And get rid of all shoots laying on the ground .
And of course we got all info from ' youtube'.

As y'all can see these trees have never been pruned since we got them. Both in bad shape and pear tree never produced mature fruit. Fog tree last didn't either. I need to do a soil test on them both.

Ive never touched our figs, prunin should help for sure. I have pruned on the pears some, but never that deeply. I want some pears badly. They are so good and much better fresh.

BacP we have had figs for years and never pruned them either. But this year for the very first time the figs would not ripen so we gave it a try.

I love figs so much. I can't find them anywhere. As a dried fruit they pack more nutrition and fiber.
Scroll down for info on dried figs on this link.

Some people in my household prefer dates. Dates remind me of giant roaches in looks, I wouldn't know about flavor since I've never eaten roaches.
