Yesterday we folded up 3 loads of washing and put them away and washed the dishes and went for a swim in the afternoon. A really hot day so no work done in the gardens. I also in the evening set off the grey water from the tank and watered about a third of the back yard lawn with it and we are starting to see a little greenery happing but the rest of the grass is hay coloured. Last night emailed a few friends to catch up from church and did some work on our soon to be monthly newsletter and caught up with a friend of mine who is 90 that needs a hand on her property so organising via email a service project with the Young Men for her through church.

Round 1 of today so far being a Sunday here got up late after sleeping in , oh the joys of having darker curtains in the bedroom as we are now sleeping like logs after not having the one and only street light in our town shining through our bedroom window. Been on the internet a bit catching up on preparedness blogs and emails. Shortly we will start our scripture study and lessons for the morning.

Round 2 of today is I cleaned the benches in the kitchen and found a recipe for making homemade yoghurt using a starter of purchased yoghurt. We have just made in our easiyo yoghurt maker and it will be ready in anywhere from 10 - up to 24 hours depending on how thick we want it to be. Busting to find out if it works and if so bye bye buying yoghurt from the shops as we will continue to use this as a starter for the next batch and so on.

Spent time emailing still trying to organise a service project for a 90 year old lady I visit minister with and still waiting on details from her to organise a date and other issues she has.

Sitting here drinking coffee, Strawberry is stretched out on my lap snoring.
My oldest son came by to check on me.
He got my internet up and working again.
He said it was OE problem.
For those who don't know what OE is.
It's Operator Error.
Got to love him, and I do.
Sitting here reading forums and crocheting a really long chain.
Will figure out later what to do with it.
Wine color knit-cro-sheen thread about 24 yards left on ball.
It and all the other colors will make a nice rainbow scarf.
Just trying to stay busy and not think.
It hurts to think today.
And it will hurt tomorrow too.

Won't be online for awhile.
My mom passed away unexpectly this evening.
My mom was only 15 years older than me.
I found her tonight thankfully instead of my dad.
Today is my dad's 80th birthday.
Dad is 18 years older than me.
Mom had a massive heart attack.
At least she went quick.
My siblings have been called.
They will start arriving in the next few days.
Some as early as tomorrow.
keeping you in my prayers...

Let's see. I put in the new water softener the other day. Today I made a small wall mounted shelf/work spot for my new chainsaw sharpener. Been dealing with the new ducklings I got,2 aren't doing all that great. Tomorrow I'll put the new sharpener on the shelf and try to get it set up and my chainsaw sharpened so I can cut up the fallen tree by the pond when the ground dries. Then in the middle of the week I'll try to get to putting the new manual locker conversions in the front end of the Ranger and do a "How To" right up for a forum I'm on. Then after I'm done with that I'll see if I still have enough left to order a new incubator.
Oh yeah, this past Friday I got a new CXT tire for the rear of the Ranger. Hopefully next year I can get the other 3 tires,if not I'll at least try and get the other rear tire.

P.S. I tried a new way of fixing rabbit last night, especially since it's been a few years since I got 1. I tried making it with ranch & herb Shake N Bake, turned out too tough though so there's no way I'll try it with squirrel, which had crossed my mind.

We coat rabbit with some olive oil before the seasoning. Maybe that will help?
Made a big breakfast this morning, fed my nephew and his wife. Spent time with mom getting her shopping done and her groceries put away. Visited Uncle Melvin a few doors down and his sons (my cousins) were visiting, too, so we had an apartment full. Had dinner at my favorite cousins tonight with lots of family...had meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, peas and carrots, asparagus, bread rolls, strawberry pie and peanut butter pie. Too full. Checked on their killer geese that are now in a big fenced area for a reason. The kids took me on a tour to show me the guineas that their chicken hens hatched (they found eggs), and to see how their army of silkies are doing that we started them with. Also had a calf that they are bottle feeding. Nephew and his wife went on back to Oklahoma. Just hopped out of the shower, and threw clothes back on, daughter will be coming in on Amtrak at 2 am, so should take a nap and then go get her in the neighboring town.

Round 1 this morning early before the heat we got to cleaning out the grey water tank as the sprinkler won't work on it without blocking up. DH tried his best from the top but couldn't reach in far enough so on went my gumboots and in I went after we pumped out as much water as we could. There was about 20 - 30 lts of sludge in the bottom and DH lowered the bucket in and I filled it with an empty ice cream container and when I got to towards the bottom used a dustpan to scoop the rest into the bucket. Got to say not my favourite job in the world but it is clean and doesn't have vines growing or floating in the water anymore blocking it, I adjusted the pump location as it was too close to the wall and the float was getting stuck and not setting off by itself and did an inspection of the inside of the tank for any breaches and please to report there isn't. I think DH would have got in there but probably wouldn't have got back out again with his back injuries. Just as well I am not precious about getting smelly sludge and dirt all over me :) .

Then went over to our neighbours home who is Thai and speaks little English to help her fill out some online employment forms and upload her bank account details which all went through fine. They were threatening to cut off her payments but all is good now. She also asked us to have a look at her grey water drain and it appears it is blocked and it looks like a plumbers job to us so we gave her the phone number for our trusted plumber to call. Last time the poor woman called a plumber in a local town he charged her $400 to change a tap washer, talk about highway robbery  . I really despise tradespeople who rip people off  and especially a single woman who speaks little English. She was rather worried her payments were being cut off so we went over dirt and all all over us after washing our hands and face.

Finally had a nice loooong shower and washed our hair each to get the smell off myself and DH.

Into town to get the results of DH's blood tests and CT scans and even though I was worried the results were good with only slight age related (apparently everyone's spine starts deteriorating after the age of 35) deterioration on 2 vertebrae and the area of his back he had operated on is stable and we got a referral for 5 free physio sessions for his back for up to date exercises which will be covered by DVA as part of his injuries in service. His cholestrol has gone down from 2.6 to 2.1 and his kidney and liver are doing well and he got some more up to date medication for his radiating pain with less side effects so he can sleep.

Then we stopped in at the irrigation place to see if they had a pool pump that filters and heats for our collapsible water tank pool but apparently not, bought another watering can from the hardware store and went to an op shop where we picked up a easiyo yoghurt maker with all attachments, 2 gardening books and 2 cd's for a grand total of $3, bargain. Last stop was to fill up 2 empty jerry cans of fuel which we had added fuel preservative to before leaving home.

Got home and found a lovely homegrown watermelon on our back table from our neighbour as a thank you, she is such a lovely bubbly happy person and DH and I tend to keep an eye out for her and look after her when we can.

Yesterday, Church first, then washed sheets, did up my vities for the month into their containers, more laundry, gave DH manicure and pedicure, called a few friends I will visit. No Church last night. Ate the last of my jambalaya with riced cauli for dinner.

Today! More laundry, call in refills for DH, pack suitcase, go to Post office about an eBay issue, pick up meds at drug store and a couple of things at Dollar General. Our friend, who will stay with DH while I am gone, will be arriving this morning and un packing either into our shed or a storage unit, don't know which yet.

I've been checking on my gardening supplies and figuring out what I need for this year
Have a load of laundry in the dryer
Yesterday hubby cut down all the huge pine tree limbs that were in the way of us mowing and also the ones that snapped off during the ice storms and wind storm we had this past winter. We moved some over the fence to the meadow but I'll be outside here directly working on getting more moved. Of course the pups will want to "help"
For some reason this year my oak tree really shed a lot of limbs but they're small so I have to rake those into a pile before I can pick them up. Guess Mother Nature did a big time job of pruning for us this past winter lol
I'm thawing some pork sausage for supper ( making unstuffed cabbage)
Even though I slept well over the time change both nights, I'm still just a tad "off". I can feel it. Hate having to change twice a year. Its ridiculous. And the days seem to be going by fast for some reason.
Have to pick a day and go in to the hardware store and see if they have some of gardening supplies I need so I can mark them off my list

Sorry for your loss.

Finally have a doaganosis for the kid, Neurocardiogenic Syncope (NCS) . its a form of disautonomia. She starts on some meds today that are supposed to help keep her blood pressure from dropping and triggering the rest of her symptoms.
What a relief for you all. I hope she adjusts to the meds quickly and you can breathe again.
We've got adult kids visiting from near and far, helping me with stuff, sharing fun stories, loudness abounds.
Glad they're here.

I'm so pleased they managed to get a diagnosis.
That takes the guess work out of treating her.
I'm praying the new meds work and give you and her some peace of mind.
You've been under so much stress so I hope lessens the load a little.

Today I a big day physically.
My delivery turns up later this afternoon.
They're putting in on the footpath so I have to get it moved
onto my property today and then I may just leave it overnight and
start processing it tomorrow to break the heavy handling
into managable chunks.
It'll be a hot epsom salt bath and soak and I'll try my best
to stay out of the local Base hospital.

Thank you Tank Girl. Be careful moving that load.

Continuation of last night is we washed the dishes, cleaned the benches and I dried them and put them away and then went out the back and composted the vegetable scraps into the grass clippings pile.

This morning not much happening as my muscles are a little sore from the grey water tank episode yesterday but we are heading to a friends farm to look at setting up an irrigation system for him for 30 trees he has planted. We will let him know what he needs and he will buy it and we will set it up for him. He offered to pay us in pork and lamb he produces which is great, but not expected, he is a good friend who has helped us out so much in the past that it is good to return the favour. His wife is in remission from cancer after treatment so he is trying to run the farm by himself and picking up paid work off the farm to make ends meet. Also we have paid some bills online.

Hope this new medicine helps her, Terri!
We are back from Uncle Mel's apartment, full of carbs from that meal. Had lots of laughs. Mom is a nutcase, and Uncle Mel is 95 and cracks us up. Have the woodburning stove going, and the kids are kicking back reading comics with the old record player on. Daughter had laundry to do and had a chuckle on the little circular hanger with clothespins on it to hang your drying unmentionables in the laundry room. I'm sure she wants one now. Internet is so spotty here, even with husband's phone for a hotspot...we'll see how much time I get. Sounds like fun, Patchouli, with the kids home.

The Brown Snake just killed a chicken.
I'm NOT going out there because the other chickens were attracted to it's death throes
and got the snake even more worked up.
Browns are very unpredictable and over excitable under the best of circumstances
but when they're upset they are very very frightening.
The dead chicken can stay there until tomorrow.
