I know this is pretty redneck but I really needed a tool box and I just can't afford one right now and I was cleaning up the yard. I had an old refrigerator, a small one with one single door and it even looked kinda like a big tool box. Well I could have scrapped it for a dollar or two or make it into a tool box and save about $300 bucks. Well I'm cheap, I'm Irish and I'm redneck so it was a tool box build.Besides, I like to re-purpose things rather than send them to the landfill.
First I gutted it, then I put trim around the door to form a drip edge because water would run through the rubber seal when it rained. Then I put a sheet of tin on the bottom which is now the right side to dress it up and make it look nicer. I added a hasp to lock it and then spiffed it up with some white paint. It was really pretty simple. All in all I think it doesn't look half bad.
Here is a link to my build, please tell my what you think, Have I gone too far redneck or not?

That is excellent. If water becomes a problem build a grate in the bottom. You can salvage some thin boards off those pallets of yours or if you have some lattice laying around that would do the job and be thinner.
