Hi everyone I am new to homesteading or as we call it in the UK smallholding. I am hoping to become more self-sufficient and a little more 'green' in the process. I want this process to be as frugal as possible and am looking to start my journey with a community of support behind me. We used to live in Wales, where we had space but very little actual land to do anything on, but we have moved to England now and are living in a suburban area but with a large backyard.
We have a website documenting our progress and I am slowly filling it up with all of my homemade crafts and homegrown ideas! I would love to have the support of people with more experience and to share some of our trials and mistakes with you all. I hope that we can all inspire each other! I know that the next 12 months will be life changing for me and my family, so all help very welcome!

Many thanks in advance and I am really glad to have been accepted into this forum.

Good Morning from Texas...windy here today....Love England, my grandparents came from there...I can still see granny standing at the top of our hill waving the teapot...time for tea and biscuits...best wishes on your voyage of homesteading...grow with love and make happy memories for the years ahead.....

TMS, welcome to the site.
We have a few discussions ongoing that include BREXIT and globalism in general. I'm curious what the average UK citizen feels about these subjects. Also, what is the web address for your web site?

Hello @The Mini Smallholder and :welcome: to the forum from Australia.

We are moving to our own larger property in December from a smaller property rental but have been practicing being self sufficient for many years. You will learn a lot from here so feel free to just jump into the threads and start some of your own on subjects you want to learn about too.

Welcome from Oregon, you have come to a great site, lots of very good info and experiences that can be helpful in you're homesteading endeavors.

Welcome from Missouri. My Father was somehow related to the Prince of Wales, way back in time, don't know how he was related, distant Cousin I think. Anyway Welcome, and if we can help please ask. The only Dumb Question is the one you don't ask.

Welcome from Alabama, I live on the farm where I was born, 3rd generation. I too would like to know how things are done on other continents.
