I'm always looking at cars and trucks,

I have always been a gearhead... hot rodder in my younger years, still in my blood,
But back in the day, 6 mpg, was not too bad.. and thats what I was getting from my Mopar.
But nowadays, can't have that.

So the wife and I need something a little more sensible, and frugal.

So we ended up getting this one.
It's a 2016 Mazda CX% Touring.
We bought it new , have had it 2 years, and absolutely love it for our family transportation.

It gets an average 31 mpg , is very easy enter and exit:cool:, very quiet running, very comfortable.
Has about every bell and whistle available...
It even points the headlights around corners..:cool:o_O

What do yall drive daily?

Jim
I'm wanting another truck, to keep my truck company...:D;)

Mainly this,a '94 4X4 Ranger XLT that gets 24 mpg

and also a '94 F150 XLT that was originally my uncles then my dad's (there's no cap on it now,I sold it) that gets 21 mpg and I'm also half owner of Bill's '99 4X4 Ranger Sport Supercab that I'll probably take today since Bill passed but I'm going to clear it with the guy in charge of his Estate,no pictures yet though.

We have a Honda Ridgeline pickup. It gets 18 to 22 MPG. Shorter and narrower than a full-size pickup but I still can haul 4x8 panels laying flat in the box. It also has a large sealed "trunk" under the box. Very handy for get home bags and other gear that is out of sight and locked up while still being easy to access.
The truck is pretty ugly but it sure works good. And the 4x4 part works great. Here is a stock picture..........

One of my cars is 52 years old and the other two are 45 years old. All are V8 powered and the two newer cars are automatics.

My 20 year old GMC was down too often and hubs was still working away from home. I still needed a pickup to haul stuff so I bought a 2014 GMC half ton again. It's got more crap on it than I will ever use but I do like the phone feature. Hate the backup camera. I can see a use for one when hooking up a trailer. I would much rather having the warning alarms the hub's truck had.

Daily driver for me is a 2017 Honda Accord. I actually like it and in the summer it get good MPG (32-34) plus it will get out of it's own way. But the biggest thing is "I fit in it"! LOL My other car is a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500.

I will never own any truck again without the Cummins Diesel..

So much can be done to it.
Ive seen them pushing over 1200hp and 1000 ft lb torque,

I play with most of the hotrodders around here...fun.
If I am serious , I use 4x4 to get off the line, otherwise just spin the tires.

Well. Empty I can out accelerate the farm boys with their black smoke rolling out the pipe from the bed but yes, my 5.7L can't haul crap at highway speeds up a hill without downshifting to third.

I put 1800 miles on it last year...
It hasn't been out of the new shed since the day I finished it..

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Jim
Mine is 15 years old and only has 52,000 miles because it only gets used for local trips that require heavy loads, off road motorcycle transport and moving the tractor around when needed.

I don't roll black smoke, you can tune them to not waste fuel like that.

Don't want to sound like a snobby snot, But I can haul or pull about any load up hill,
it never down shifts and stays barely above an idle., tremendous torque .

And I eat Hemi's at half throttle...
Cummins 5.9 is an awesome motor.

Like I said if I knew then what I know now..... I'd have paid the extra $6-7K.

I had to wait till I was an old fart before I finally could get one,

I wish you could drive mine once,
I have done quite a bit to it , only half what some of these guys do,

You would love it.

So much power.

We had a hard working 2500 diesel ram at work that was awesome and often was pulling the Ford 550 out of places since it had less power than a moped.

That is my 2005 GMC 2500HD with an 8.1 liter gas engine, it's MPG should be measured GPM! I am fortunate to get high 12'sMPG wise on the highway and anything above 10 off the highway is a good day. It has 250,000 miles on it though! Paid $30,000 for it in 2004, a new one would cost twice that so I am holding onto it until it dies!

Is it just my computer or did that turn up as a ridiculously big picture for everyone else, too?
Not so big that scrolling was necessary to see the whole truck loaded down with firewood.
