Ok y'all. The kitchen cabinets are "new Hope gray" with cream walls. The black splash is going to be slate "brick" tile. The bath room walls are "iced slate gray" and the walls are "Seattle gray". On the beadboard down the hall, hubby wants to do the "iced slate gray" on the beadboard and the cream/country white for the rails and the "Seattle gray" on the wall.

The hallway starts in the kitchen and goes down to the bathroom. What do y'all think?

Gray is THE color for home decor now days. I was just thinking that every house that I go to to house sit or walk dogs has a gray couch. Most have gray walls, carpet and wooden flooring.

Costco has a door mat that is around $15 that many people I know have at least one of.

You are in the right color palette for the times.

Think outta the box , like I did when I did our living room ,dining room.
2 and 3 times of a color light/darker/and darker on different walls all the same time.

We love it, even did angles in corners with reversing triangular colors...same tones

Fun .Creative.

The color of most of my walls and the ceilings is essentially this, lighter and darker of the same tone. Someone asked if I painted the ceiling the same color as the walls? No.

Colors are so tricky. So I do white. White everything. White walls.
I add color maybe with the bedspread, a colorful quilt. Otherwise white .
The old joke is if I'm painting, and someone asks what color....ha.
I am closely related to Der Weiss, the Amish guy who built the giant Jesus chair. He only wore white. My favorite cousin is like this, too.
So, we decided it's because of Der Weiss.

@Terri9630 go with antique white on the walls it is a classic off white and looks beautiful with everything.

I am another one in keeping the walls a plain colour and decorating with splashes of colour is things like cushions, bed spreads, colourful curtains and vases. That way it is always classic and will suit everyone if down the track you decide to sell.

I swear sometimes you sound like my husband but he's sitting here next to me and not near a computer so I know that's not possible.

Oh, and he's not overly fond of the cold or cities.

We got the same mind control chip implanted at FLETC. His just must have been the Southwestern warm climate model.

He was like that before FLETC. Georgia or South Carolina? Hubby was in Georgia, kept going on about some cop shop.....

Glynco, Georgia. I remember a cop shop in Brunswick. I think it was called Sammy's or Sally's or something like that.

My wife says you need a splash of real color.

You don't have to listen to her - I never do.
I had a designer come to my house before I started painting. She is the cousin of a friend. I did what she recommended for colors, arrangement of furniture, how to install curtains (way up by the ceiling above the window), etc. Her recommendation about color is that it is in the fabrics--pillows, curtains, table runners, rugs, etc. You can change out a whole color scheme by replacing them. Walls, trim, counters, doors etc., are fairly neutral. I asked her if one wall in rooms should be a different color. No.
