Lastly, I made a basic utility quilt with nine patch blocks and plain squares. The blocks and fabric had been hanging around forever and I finally just put them together to get rid of them! I'm hoping to get at least one more top made this week and then I'm going to put up my frame and start quilting for the next few months.

Like this one too.

I worked on a piece "Peace, Love, Appliqué " that was a block of the month I started with a group several years ago. I got stuck in April and just got back to it this past year. Believe I am now on August or September. Like @CalicoKatie Ive been trying to finish some things up rather than start new ones. I've also been trying to do the bulkier things in order to try to make room. Little by little.

Decided to make sampler quilts this time for Christmas.
All those blocks from various swaps now have purpose.
Also when I'm learning new block to me, I make up several extra blocks.
All those blocks will also be going into sampler quilts.
Still trying to use up and finish several more quilt tops before I start on the children's quilts.
Seems soon as in October, I will have 3 new grandchildren,
Jake age 8- Legos
Abi age 6- Cheetahs
Gwen age 4- Turtles
And of course Estelle age 2- Monkeys, Lady Bugs
Least they are diversified in their animals.

I really like your red, white and blue quilt in the last picture. Very simple, yet beautiful. Oh how I wish to have my work space back. . .

Since moving in my MIL, my table is gone and Grannys moved in to replace, but hunny is using her table to keep track of all her paper work and heaven forbid I stack it in a pile. That would just confuse him. Hoping he can go thru everything and get it all organized to go on the desk. It honestly is driving me crazy. . .

Woke up at 3:15 AM when hubby left to go hunting so had a little extra time. Mom had given me some homespun scraps so I made 3 crazy quilt blocks. They will become hot pads once I get the seams covered in turkey tracks. That was the first stitching I've done in a month. It did me sooo much good.

That is a lot of cross-stitching!

Incredible, beautiful detailing. Please tell your wife she's a wonder.
Has she ever entered her work in any adult 4H fairs?

She has never used a machine for one stitch...all by hand.

No, she has not showed any of her quilts. We live 30 minutes from the biggest quilt show in Paducah KY.

She mostly makes them to put back for our 3 daughters and 6 grandkids.
She is even making them for our great grandkids that we dont have yet.

It's just a love for her .
She has been making them since we have been married 53 years.

When she is sitting she is sewing.

Aw! That is so perfectly beautiful. You're being sneaky! Thanks for showing us her exquisite handiwork.
:quilting:

She will work on that one for a while, get tired of same colors and patterns, then see he has a couple more started, so she works on one of those a while.
She just ordered a set of new ones from Amazon yesterday.
She makes them all for Queen size and adds a little to be larger.

This one is on order..called Americana.
