Another quiet day, not much happening. I did fill up another 39-gallon trash bag with shredded paperwork. I’ve now shredded everything from 1987 through 2002.

Before everyone thinks I’m totally OCD… Out of the Navy I got a job, a salaried employee. This meant there was a great many things I could put on weekly expense reports depending on the circumstances, mostly auto and meal expenses.

After the first year and a couple of grand out of my pocket because of lost receipts I finally started to get the hang of it. The second year I figured out how to duplicate my receipts. Mainly putting everything of gas cards, Shell etc and meals on credit cards. I’d get a receipt at point of sale, it would then appear on my monthly credit card bill, a duplicate.

After a couple of years, I got a new job. This time as a salaried employee with international travel thrown in… and I thought things were complicated before! o_O

Then there were the pencil pushers... During an accounting audit I once had a lady call who wanted to know where I ate for a week 15 months earlier. Off hand I didn’t know what country I was in that week much less what I had for breakfast on a Thursday. So, I learned to keep every scrap of paper and file it away for years.

These old receipts are like a stroll down memory lane in a way, things long forgotten. It’s sort of enjoyable. :)

Yesterday we went to town to DH's psychology appointment and that was interesting. She thinks he has improved to the point where he will only have to go in once a month instead of fortnightly which is good. He then went and did a paid mowing job.

We then went to the auto store to pick up some more chain bar oil and to the hardware store to pick up another chainsaw file with handle. Then stopped and had lunch paid by our DVA meal allowance. Then went to the supermarket to pick up our online grocery order and while there found discounted bread rolls and whole leg hams with a $10 off special on them bringing the ham down to $6.44 kg so we purchased a 4.54 kg half leg ham. We are slicing it up today to freeze as it is too large for us to use all at once.

Round 1 of today is that we have dated, rotated and put some groceries away. Got out in the garden and planted our sprouting sweet potatoes, I planted lettuce seed and DH planted some cucumber seeds and we watered them in. DH has built a wire enclosure and gate around the last two beds with star pickets and some more of our recycled chicken wire from our grape yard enclosure demolition.

Got DH's fuel and meal allowance in and put the meal allowance into an account to use for future meals and banked over $300 in the fuel allowance of that into our 3 month living expenses emergency fund.

About to date and put away the rest of our groceries and date and mark the medical items that turned up yesterday and rotate things and put them away in the medical cupboard.

Round 2 of today is we washed the dishes and I dried them and put them away. We also did a general tidy up of the kitchen table so it isn't so cluttered. DH sliced the entire 4.54 kg leg of ham and I packaged it in meal sized portions for the freezer.

I stain removed some clothing, put on a load of washing on, hung it on the clothesline to dry and brought it back in. DH watered the gardens and potted herbs and fruit trees and I set of the grey water to water a mulberry tree in the yard and then once finished moved it to the mandarin tree to be watered next. I emptied the hand washing water for the day onto some of the canna lilies in the side garden bed.

Another day at work. Just living the dream. OMG . I never thought I would be working this long. Preps are in good order. Holidays are in good order. I got my Avatar and signature in good order. Why does that feel so satisfying? Now I am starting to feel like part of the group.

Oh great, now I am going to have to figure out which one is you and which one is @Bacpacker! :D

I like that avatar Morgan. We must be brothers from a different mother.

Thank you, Backpacker, as I do yours. There is a story that goes with it. I have always felt that I was born 100 years to late. I grew up in Southern Arizona, and always loved the cowboy lore. Still do to this day. If you share a passion for the Old West, and American History from about 1830 to 1900 your are a kindred spirit.

I am a history buff for . Isure. I've been told more than once I was born 100 years to late. Lol
I like the period from late 1700s to civil war times most. That when most settlers came into this area and started farming .

Since its national cookie day I made some chocolate chip cookies lol
I also made some chocolate walnut clusters. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'll take them in to the ladies there. The sea salt sprinkled on top really makes them tasty( its that salty sweet thing lol)

Went over to the neighbors to learn how to do chores over there. They are leaving today and won't be back until Tuesday. He has moved most of the livestock so I don't have to work with them. I only have to take care of 5 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and some chickens. And I have to watch for wolves because they have moved back into this area after being gone all summer:(

Been a busy morning..
Small inside chores done.

I'm feeling pretty darn good today.
The new knee is funny...some days , seems no progress...some days it's like holy crap it has jumped by leaps and bounds in improving.

The PT gal came out today, (today is 2 week anniversary...wow)
She is very happy also.
She put this Kenesio Tape on today . Suppose to work a miracle.

I'm ready to go to riding....
Went outside , up/down steps and walked the driveway.
We shall see..

Anybody familiar with this therapy ?

He put me on Mobic for now. Try to settle down the inflammation.

Natural anti-inflammatory foods:

Celery
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Blueberries
Bone Broth
Walnuts
Coconut Oil

All of which are part of a balanced keto diet. ;)

@Bacpacker https://www.homesteadingforum.org/threads/poke-sallet.1721/ Poke is a wonderful antiInflammatory and even better antiviral. It's why I haven't had a flu or cold in over a decade.

I take it for arthritis along with a dozen people I know. Now would be a good time to harvest some root and make a tincture. For next time and flu season will continue for several months.

I'm sitting here not happy. My log splitter that is supposed to be here today is aparently confused. The tracking says that it left Phoenix then went to Holbrook, Casa Grande, back to Phoenix then Albuquerque and is now loaded on a trailer that will be heading back to Pheonix!!

One year my aunt’s Christmas present which I sent from Oregon to California spent some time in Florida before making its way to Cali. Took the scenic route I s’poze.
Also @phideaux not sure of the details but i know athletes use it.

Made yet another mistake in another Christmas blanket.
So took it apart again.
I think instead of trying to crochet for awhile.
I'll just sit, rock, think and pray.
Might be gone for a little while before surgery.
My grand daughter is ill.
So as I sit here rocking, with tears flowing down my cheeks, I'm praying.
She's my reason to get up and face a new day.
If I don't post for a while, I'm just rocking, reading forums.

Peanut, I will look Saturday, but I'm almost certain I've got some poke growing in a couple spots If so I'll dig the roots up.
Do you mind sharing how you make your tincture?
