This “Chip Kit” gave me a good laugh this morning. I used to fly with this as part of my carry-on luggage. Can you imagine trying to get this past a TSA screener today? :D

Waaay back in the day… catscans and mri’s were repaired at component level on circuit boards… resistors, capacitors, even chips. Chip Kits contained components with high failure rates.

This is just a plain old fishing tackle box with foam glued into the pockets. I actually have two of these. This one was for older model Catscans the other was for newer model CT’s and MRI’s. If I were sent to Denver or Pittsburg or where ever to repair a system I’d take the appropriate Chip Kit with me... And hope I had what was needed in my kit.

I have a couple I use for electronics tools and for radio set up and repairs.

I still have mine out in the shop.
I worked at the Trident Sub base in Bango, Wa and the 2 guys that maintained the modems had 10 of every IC made at the time. They were all sorted and stored in special static electric dissipating metal drawers 5 feet tall. No reason to ever use them but they had an unlimited government budget so their reason was why not. I never saw either one ever do any work.

I want to see where he hit it.

Yours truly.
The Rifle is a BCM, lightweight cut barrel, with leightweight rail and EOtech 512. It is my GO rifle.

One of my bikes won a spot in The Cave Bike calendar this year. When my wife found out there would be another woman modeling with my bike she added herself to the race for model position. She got the votes and beat out all the 20 year olds. I couldn’t believe she would actually put herself in that sort of position. She’s the quiet antisocial type but she didn’t want another woman on HER bike! We are April in the calendar this year. We just got the calendars and I think it was very good for her.
