I've created a monster,
My wife is loving the Eufy robot vacuum sweeper so much.
I'm glad but she now wants to know about a robot mop , just for the kitchen and bathroom.
Ok , I'm always willing to help...
So I'm looking..and there ain't that many mops on the market.
Just seen a commercial for this one today.
Looks like something that would make her happy.

Anybody got a robot mop?

Jim

I been researching , reading, and watching YouTube.

Looks like these moppers are not for the deep scrubbing clean, but more like a Swiffer mop.

My wife does the Swiffer thing 1-2 times a week, so this may eliminate that.

It's the only one that has a vibrating action .

I'm still looking but so far , the Irobot Braava 240 jet is the highest on my list @ $169.

@Terri9630 , that Scooba is out of my price range @ $1400, and all I want is simple.
But it works pretty good?

Just a general cleanup couple times a week.

For us old folks with bodily ailments..

$1400??! I didn't pay more than $150. I'd never pay that much for a mop!

I guess I have run out of research material.
These robo mop machines are fairly new to the market.

So I decided to jump in and try one out for the sake of satisfying our curiosity.

I ordered the Irobot Braava Jet 240. Not a super smart machine, as far as technology , but not totally stupid either. No docking station for charging, no remote control , but will learn patterns ,and has long battery life, plus spare ,larger batteries are available@ $19.99.

Sometimes more is not better, I appreciate simpler things sometimes .

The machine should be here late next week...I will report back .

No docking station, but does it have a way for you to plug it in and charge it back up?

As I promised...I am reporting on the new Irobot Braava Jet 240 robo mop.

Wow I ordered it last Friday, and had it in my hands on Monday.
My first impression is that it sure is small.
But, that's ok , because it is a smart , hard working machine.
Plugged the charger into wall, then plug battery into charger ....took 1 1/2 hrs to full charge.

Slide a pad on to it, fill with about 2 cups of warm water.
The pads have a cleaning solution built in.
3 types of pads, wet, damp, and dry.
We selected wet for the kitchen tile floor.
You set the machine down , press start button, it will mop forward and to the right..mapping it's pattern.
It mops each area 3 times in different directions until it has covered entire room
We had to refill water tank one time. It sprays water as needed to keep the cleaning pad wet.

My wife absolutely loved this thing so she named it Molly.

It took about 1 1/2 hrs to do kitchen. About 16x20 room.

It is really smart , if you sit and watch it mapping and working around table legs.
It will not leave kitchen, will not cross transition strip .
So quiet you don't know it's running, except when it sprays water, and once the pad is desired wetness, it don't spray often.

The floor hasn't been mopped since I had surgery , 3 weeks Wednesday.
It really did a great job..it is clean. The disposable pad was very dirty.
I ordered a pack of 10 WET pads , washable, reuseable, for $13, a spare battery for $13 , double ah rating of original.

Yep this is the cat's meow.

I want one, but my want list is long and that comes after other things, such as a whole house generator.

I believe this is the most excited I've seen my wife in a long time.
She is going to turn it loose in each bathroom today .

It doesn't hurt her back at all
And does a really good job.:)

I think it's a little pricy, but is smarter than I thought it would be. It knows where it's been and where to go to cover every square inch.
It actually goes over the entire room 3 times. Once it mopped the entire room 3 times....it goes back to where it started and turns off.

This is our mopping robot, not the same model but close. Plus it works for cookies.

Looks like a shotgun target to me.

Too slow for a shotgun target. Size and speed says a 50 yard pistol target or a 200 yard rifle target.(maybe 300 yard because it is big)
It would be a very expensive target! I think using my silhouette targets mounted on wheels would be less expensive and they are reusable! Hey! I might have a 12 volt motor I could.... that humming noise is my brain working.

Update...
It's been about 2 months now since my wife got her Irobot mop.

She lets it go for about 2 hours, every Friday night in our kitchen, which is (between cabinets) about 13' wide by 24' long.
She has to refill the water reserve once , the battery holds up full time.

I'm impressed as I watch it , it covers every square inch, 3 times. The floor really is clean when it stops.

The reusable pad is holding up really well also.

She also uses it on both bathrooms each week, different days, doesn't take long.

Best thing that we have done in a long time.

Jim
