What would he do if you shoveled both sides before he got to it?

We aren't physically in a position to shovel for one another, but he is happy to blow all of the leaves from his yard into mine including blowing them under the back fence. My son has seen him do it. He is the type of neighbor who thinks his property is hallowed ground. Used to send his kids into other people's yards to play. That is gospel.
