Walked the dog, blew some snow away, went to worship service, did some admin work on website for B&B, booked in some new summer registrations, made supper. Looking at the 18 inches of snow that has accumulated this morning and thinking I will blow snow away again tomorrow, and from the forecast every day for the next few.
 
4 of my siblings and I had a 60th wedding anniversary party for our folks today.

Our landlord had the loose tiles in the kitchen repaired on Tuesday. They grouted the tile on Thursday. The workman cracked one of the repaired tiles and tried to slip out of the house before I could look at the finished work. I saw it seconds after he drove off and called K about it. I sent him photos to text the landlord and the workman was back to replace the tile within 30 minutes. A few hours after he left AGAIN I slipped and fell on the newly repaired tile and BROKE it! I pulled it out of the mortar so it would be easier for us to replace with a new one. I found that the workman put very little mortar on the replacement tile and I had broken it where there was no mortar to support it. It was going to break eventually. So K mixed up some mortar and laid a new tile in the hole. In 24 hour he'll grout the tile and we will be done with this BS.

I am almost done with the closets 100%. I keep putting off purging the baby's closet but I did pass on some of my maternity belly bands to one of Roo's classmates mom. She is in her first trimester and is a big girl like myself. I figured if she wanted them it would be one less thing I had in my closet or dresser.

I got K to pull out the 2 totes of clothes in Juju's closet. One is her current size and the other is one size too small. I need to go through them and get rid of the small stuff that isn't an heirloom or handmade by family. The current sized clothing is all summer stuff and it has been chilly here.

After the closets it is on to the bathrooms then the kitchen.
 
To the chiro this morning. Then to Hobby Lobby to get material for my rocking chair project ( pictures soon on the arts and crafts thread), then home to get caught up and make sure everything us ready for my upcoming foot surgery. Sheets washing, furniture dusting, etc...
 
I shaved, feeling more Human. Went to town for Tacos. Got a Man A Cure and a Hair Cut. Talked to Friends on the Phone. Got a Text from "The Dark Side", going "Back Down" 2moro. Love Night Ops. Keeps me out of Trouble.
 
Roo has been sick with a small cold all weekend. I got up this morning to get her ready for school and she had a fever. So she stayed home. Normally she is bouncing with energy when I keep her home but she was mellow and sleepy today. No arguing or whining. She really was sick. If she has a fever again in the morning I'll keep her home again and take her to the doctor.
 
Strangest thing just Happened. Safecastle just got real insulting on my FB page. Doode went on a Rant. That was weird. He shoulda looked up my account to see how much I spend there, before acting like a child. Needless to say, I notified Safecastle of the fact that I will no longer be in need of their Products or Services. When he was done with his rant, I told him to stick his head in a toilet to sober up, before I reach through his computer screen, jerk out a nose hair and strangle him with it. OK so I listen to Mark Levin too much. The guy was a Shlum, he deserved it
 
Ever had one of those days where you have what you think is a perfectly laid out plan to get things done and it goes completely pear shaped ?. Today we planned in the early morning to dig out our carrot seedlings and transplant them into one of the newly amended garden beds and then cook some granola and a chocolate cake.

Here is actually how it went got a phone call that a friend was coming over in the morning so there went plucking and replanting the carrots in the cool of the day. So instead we DH did a load of washing in the washing machine and hung it out and I watered part of the house paddock back lawn with saved grey water. While my friend was here DH put our smoker BBQ together that arrived in the post. We then planned before 4pm to cook our granola and make our cake but then another friend called and said he was coming over. We have just finished cooking the granola and making the cake at 9.30pm at night and are waiting for the cake to cool to put on chocolate buttercream icing and for the granola to cool so we can get it in the container and add the sultanas to it.

Carrots tomorrow now, oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men :rolleyes:.
 
That's how my yesterday went, too, Sewing Creations. Went to work as usual, and was anticipating the electrician to come in and finish up installing burnt out lightbulbs and a ballast in the super high ceilings of the school. Also expecting the plumber in to replace the parts of one of the small toilets and take a mystery item out that was flushed down another small toilet, to clean the commercial dishwasher inner filter, and to replace a faucet unit in the science room. Instead I was greeted by the children youth and family inspector for our semi annual surprise inspection. So I spent an entire half day with her as she wrote up all of those above listed items as demerits. Wouldn't you know, a half hour after she left, both the plumber and electrician were there to fix it all. Then rushed across town to the hospital to meet my husband for a dr appt with a spine specialist. They can't take out the cyst until the clots go away, but they scheduled him to have fluid removed and steriod injected in a couple of weeks. Then home for a short time and off to take granddaughter to American Heritage Girls. Didn't get home till 830. Today needs to be uneventful. I hope.
 
Oh bugs @Amish Heart on the demerits from the school inspection, you would think that they would take into account that you had the tradesmen coming to fix it.

Not good to hear they can't take out the cysts yet on your DH but the steroid injections should help. I remember having those with my back when it was really bad and it helped a lot.
 
Off to vet with our Big Molly this morning to get knocked out and have teeth cleaned. She is 9 and needs it done. Next to insurance company to do ap for life insurance for DH. Then to VA clinic to see if we can get someone to talk to us about DH's breathing. And then to a nursing home for me to get signed up and find out best times to read to folks. Probably stop at a couple of thrift shops. At some point pick up Molly, get milk and come home. That is busy enough for us at this point!

Molly is home and recovering. She did well, 2 teeth extracted, 1 broken and the other really loose. DH's breathing problem is bronchitis. Glad it isn't heart or emphysema type of problem! Coming to take blood for life insurance tomorrow. And have to call nursing home tomorrow for hours to volunteer. Pretty much all completed and done for the day!

I had a doctor’s appointment today. A referral by my regular doctor to a clinic I’d never been too. I always try to surprise the new people I meet at such a place with plant medicine. Today I found Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) growing at the edge of their parking lot. It has a pretty purple bloom. I gathered a couple plants that were blooming and put them in my shirt pocket with the blooms showing.

Several of the clinic staff said “Nice flower” or “Where did you get those?” They were all surprised to learn it was medicinal and growing right outside their door. It’s a nice way to start a conversation about alterative medicines. Henbit is very mild. I’ve never used it as a medicine but I have eaten it on a salad.

Before the holidays I had new business cards professionally designed for my medicinal plant class. Everyone at the clinic got a card. Even my doctor and (especially) her nurse practitioner wanted cards. :)

I wish I were close enough to be in one of your classes. That stuff has always interested me. That an wild food plants.
