I twisted my left knee playing football as a kid. I had to shave that leg from the groin down so the trainer could tape it. Looked awful funny to have one hairy leg and one smooth leg. But after a month, I got used to it being smooth and after the season when it grew back out it actually felt kinda strange...

Btw, I didn't mow any more today .
About 1 pm , we got rain for an hour.

I did go to eat fish.
He gave me a bowl , free to evaluate, of home made pineapple ice cream.
I was expecting chunky , but it was smooth , creamy and awesome.

I been his guinnea pig for 7 years , since he opened.

If I don't like it he usually don't sell it.

That ice cream sounds wonderful. I need to break out our freezer and make some of that.

It didn't have any pineapple pulp in it , but was really a smooth easy flavor of pineapple.
First I've ever had.
This guy is a genius with food.
You should have his brown sugar bourbon ice cream .
He makes lots of flavors , my favorite is cherry,
Banana,
Strawberry, blackberry, butter pecan.
Lemon
Orange

I hate peanut butter ice cream

Last Friday my boss dropped a mess on me. His boss figured out she had a bunch of $$$ that she need to spend before mid September. We've had a big over all project that we've done parts of, but have 3 facilities left to do. They wanted me to get them a quote for all three buildings RIGHT NOW. Why couldn't they have ask for that 2 months ago when time was available to gather all that info? Any way spent a good bit of time last weekend and most all this week trying to gather the needed info. 2 major problems, the main vendor needs 8-12 weeks to build a unit for us. We need 8 of them for this whole project. And 2 of these buildings are huge and all broke up. Just not a good way to estimate coax runs. SO I had to take a guess at it. Went a little to the high side. I pretty much got everything gathered up and started running into delivery problems. Spend yesterday afternoon and most all day today trying to nail down last few items. I finally most of my answers around to, at least enough I felt comfortable with my quote. Sent it to the boss to work out with his. :dunno::dunno::dunno: If I get the funding then the fun really begins.

I'm glad the weekend is here.

I'm glad for the weekend too, but i stay up too late.
A couple of weeks ago I was fussing about the deer mice in the yard. They were running all over the deck/patio during the day for several hours at a time. I put out neck breaker traps, no go. Kindness trap, no go. Zapper trap, no but I did fry an ant. HAHA. I was going to put poison out but you know how i am, ok maybe you don't.
We haven't seen them for a week anyhow and last night when the dog was let out she was barking and rushing at something. It was a possum! YAY! They like to eat rats and mice, did you know that? I say that was what caused the demise of the adorable possibly hanta virus carrying deer mice. Hopefully they are gone for good.
@Sewingcreations15 do you ever see common brushtail possums around outside? Your possums are cute, ours are kind of ugly, but I think they're okay.

I just went out and picked the peas , before the furnace comes on.
They're slowly coming in, but if you don't pick them daily ,they dry on the vine quick in the heat.

So we get a little each day , keep in fridge till we get enough to blanch and bag for freezing.

Wife picks the green beans , I can't bend over that far. Kills my back

So we will be canning green beans today, then lunch , then mowing ..maybe. the dew is not leaving ...high humidity, just makes a big mess mowing wet , and not good for the equipment.

May get another batch of sphagetti sauce made today.

Just giving my elbow a workout right now with this coffee cup.

Bringing my two boxes of peaches over to my cousin's house this morning, and we will be slicing and getting them ready for the freezer. I'll be bringing an empty jug over for some raw milk, and some yeast bricks I picked up to leave for her daughter. . Then they're making lunch for us, and the grandkids can play with her grandkids. My fav cousin has a hard time leaving the house, her husband needs care, is not well, so I try to go to her as much as possible. Other than that, hope to get some boxes out of the front room, get the laundry done, and be ready to leave for Denver tomorrow morning.

Today I am working on the kitchen, I am installing floor to ceiling cabinets, I've already installed the base and wall attachment rail, so it's just unpack the flat pack boxes, assemble and hang.... easy peasy.

When I set out the water supply lines in the kitchen, I just installed stubs into the cabinet space, the cabinet is in now and the countertop should be installed on Monday, so I guess I will have to cut off the stubs and install the T to the outside spicket and the supply valves for the stuff in the kitchen. I found compression supply valve fittings made by sharkbite that are dual 1/4 turn valves, I have one that has 2 - 3/8th fittings that will supply the hot water and the dish washer, I have one that is 3/8 and 1/4 for the cold water and the fridge... will see how they work in reality soon.

The garden stuff is doing okay, have to pick okra every day or else... the squash is kinda like an easter egg hunt.. My summer spinach experiment seems to be working well, I planted some in a flat container (concrete mixing tub) and placed it under a picknic table, I have trouble in the summer with spinach burning up, this seems to be helping.

On the okra, we bread the sliced okra like you are making fried Okra, place it on a wax paper covered cookie sheet so the okra are individuals, think little cookies, and freeze it overnight, then take it out and store it either in ziplock or seal-a-meal bags (don't over vacuum or you get okra cakes!).

The spinach; we blanch, shock, drain a little, make 1 pound patties, freeze and store like the okra.

Break's over ;)

Strawberry has been walked several times.
She's been outside several times this morning.
Grand daughter and oldest son has been over.
As grand daughter says we went on a adventure today.
Youngest son and his beautiful wife may become parents this weekend.
Watching two female neighbors being more stupid than normal.
And here I thought that wasn't possible.
Well they just proved me wrong.
My bedroom is pretty much packed.
Will finish packing up closet, shoes, pie safe and the rest of the bathroom stuff today.
Entertainment center is packed, labeled.
Will start in the kitchen tonight with the packing.
Taking a break right now.

This morning I get to deal with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles............................................................

I have to wait until the 15th.

Just got off the phone with some friends in S TX. We used to live next door to them. They are west of Baffin Bay and are expecting lots of flooding. I do not miss living there!

You're moving?
Hopefully this next week.
Also trying a new lifestyle- Minimalism.
Extreme decluttering too.
My sons have picked out the things they wanted.
Which I have already gave to them.
I have picked out several things I want my grand children to have.
My toy collection will be donated to the Toy Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.
For all children to enjoy.
Everything else will be donated to various places or trashed.
This is the year, I decided to finish projects or get rid of them.
So far I have completed 25 projects completely.
Working on Christmas quilts now, those will be done by Thanksgiving completely.
I have already donated 8 large trash bags of various yarns to a group of ladies that crochet for Veterans, Ronald McDonald House, Domestic Violence Houses.
I have already donated 8 large totes of fabric to group of quilters, who does quilts for Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City, Missouri, Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri, Quilts of Valor for Veterans.
Donated big boxes of books to a home school group, they also got my back up printer.
Wasn't enjoying any of my hobbies, because I had too much stuff.
You had to go through stuff to find fabric, yarn or paints, or my chalks.
The clutter tried to take over, but I am fighting back.
My family is finally realizing I don't want or need their arts and crafts stuff.
My house was becoming a dumping ground for anything they didn't want.

Didn't realize you're moving next week, Mo. I hope you get good neighbors this time. I would be a lousy minimalist (says the lady with a huge building full of boxes to unpack). Canning stuff alone needs it's own large space. Went to cousins, all us ladies (and the little ladies) peeled 40 # of peaches in very short order. They are now in the freezer. Had lunch there, and husband helped her son in law with a fax machine that needs hooking up. He'll be running it off a battery and inverter. Needs it for the organic feed/hay orders he gets in. Worked in the basement a bit. Need to pack to go to Denver tomorrow. I think grandkids are a little nervous about having a 3 night Amish babysitter. They'd better behave.

Finally got all the mowing done today.

Canned green beans ..

Grandkids and daughter visited for 2 hrs..always happy to see them

They want my wife to make them 4 mask each for school. They picked out material, from wife's storage... She has more than any store.

Tried to get them to take a cat. We only have 7 out there. 😳

Thats great Jim, haven't seen an of my family since Feb26th then saw all 3 of our kids. See pictures of grandkids and great grands.

@Meerkat one of my young adult daughters has been using shaving cream on her legs for a couple of years. I finally tried it on my legs and what a difference! No wonder guys don't use soap on their faces. So maybe you should try that until your new Remington shows up. She uses Barbasol brand. Helps the shave to go smooth, and afterwards, ah, perfect. LOL

Good luck with the move Mo. Didtn' know you were movin.
Loaded the trash up and headed for the dump. I noticed a strong smell of gas, but went on anyway. I had a quarter tank of gas when I left the house and a little over halfway to the dump (maybe 6-8 miles my fuel light came on, drove on the the nearest gas station and started pumping gas and head something strange, knelt down and looked around the tire and could see fuel shooting out. Crawled up under the truck enough to where I could find the hose running from the fill neck to the fuel tank. Didn't take long to find the spot it was leaking from. I was so low on fuel I knew I'd never get back home, so got to digging around in the truck to find something ti patch the hose enough to put fuel in the truck and head home. I couldn't find any tape, or clamps. So went in the store and got a small roll of electrical tape and cut up a heavy piece of plastic and taped it around the hose to cover the hole. It still leaked but I got 5 gallons in it and got back home.
Wife canned 4 jars of tomatos, we picked almost a 5 gallon bucket at various stages of ripeness. Almost a pint of blueberries, they are about done.

I will be one of the youngest in the new neighborhood.
Moving into 55 plus neighborhood.
If I could live my dream, I would be moving into a house with a yard for me and Strawberry.
But that's not practical and I couldn't afford the price of the house and all the upkeep too.
Hopefully I will be moving next week, won't know for sure until next week.
When I moved into present neighborhood, it was for safety reasons.
I have been on the waiting list for the new place for almost 2 years.

That's great to hear, @MoBookworm1957 you were keeping it on the down low. Glad you're getting something of what you want.
Your attitude about your projects and books, all your stuff, you changed your mindset. It is not an easy thing to do.

Actually Patch,
I am getting a lot of what I want with the new place.
Now I live in unsafe neighborhood, with weird neighbors.
Before I lived in drug infested, neighborhood, but it wasn't when I had moved in 7 years ago.
Before I lived in 2 bedroom apartment with 4 closets.
Now I live in 1 bedroom with 2 closets.(1 closet is as wide as my file cabinet and that's all).
I will be moving into new neighborhood, my new apartment has 2 bedrooms 5 closets, huge bathroom, open floor plan.
8 x 10 patio walled on 2 sides, U shaped kitchen with modern appliances.
By modern I mean refrig with ice maker, stove with storage under oven, range hood that's the microwave, sink with garbage disposal and a dishwasher. Upper cabinets on 2 sides of the area, bottom cabinets on 3 sides of the area.
Breakfast bar, laundry room with closing doors, walk in master bedroom closet, second bedroom is smaller, but it's the same size as what I have now. Dining area, area by the laundry room I can put my sewing stuff and my desk, printer etc.
And 1 car garage too, covered front porch.
No it's not a house, but we are only 2 miles from the park and Strawberry and I can walk to the park for exercise.
I think I will be happy there.
Yes, I would rather have a house, yard for Strawberry, grandchildren and myself, but that's not feasible.
Can't afford it.
And I can still garden with my raised beds and won't have to worry about neighbor's grand children damaging my garden or hurting Strawberry.

I had a really good day. I lost touch with a good friend about 3 years ago. His life was in turmoil at the time… I lost my phone with ALL my contact info going back a dozen years about the same time. I’d been to his house a few times at night. I knew it was across the street from a school, I’d driven by the school a dozen times since looking for his house but never recognized any of them.

Today I had to run an errand in the big town. A traffic accident prevented me from making a left turn… I went straight knowing I could cut across by that school again and get to the produce market, my destination.

I turned left 4 blocks to soon having never went to the market this way… There wasn’t one school but two of them!!! I drove right by my friend’s house, recognized it and stopped. All those times I drove by that school I never knew that 4 blocks over was another school. A neighborhood high school and elementary back in the day.

Anyway, it was great seeing my old buddy! He’d tried to reach me dozens of times as well. His sister knew someone I knew but Mr. J. died about 3 years ago… The email addy he used for me was an old one from 10 years ago…

We’d usually meet up in town, play pool, have a cold one… Always on Tuesday … Saturday afternoons during football season. I always knew where to find him. That “hole in the wall” bar closed about 3 years ago as well… I was never one to hang out in bars… I had the phone numbers of a couple of the people that hung out there but those were lost with my phone.

Well, I never did get to the produce market but found something more important, an old friend. :)

@Peanut that's so cool you were put in the right place to find your friend!
@MoBookworm1957 new place sounds fantastic! Strawberry will get enough exercising just running around inside.
Today I went through a nearby small city to visit some folks. So-called "protesters" were on the square again, different area of the square. Family said there was supposed to be a bigger one at one of the city parks later in the afternoon and I skedaddled out of there before that got started. They didn't know which side of conflict this supported and we decided neither would be safe to attend. The traffic was getting thick.

Incoming outer band clouds from the hurricane kept things cooler but more humid.

These are the 2 grands that visited today . They only live 4 miles from me.
I see them almost every week.
