The Lies
“General did you read this morning’s paper? You killed over fifty civilians, women and children!”
“Congressman Johnson. This is a common tactic of the enemy since the Vietnam War. The enemy cannot successfully attack us directly so they lie and exaggerate to the media as a means to attack our credibility. Then we waste resources addressing their false claims and the waters will be “muddied” to the point it will be difficult to tell who is telling the actual truth. Here is the infrared video taken at five thousand feet showing four subjects entering the target vehicle, Abdul-Obama, his Driver and his two Bodyguards. You will see the Drone Operator waited until the vehicle left the city and was in an isolated area with zero chance of collateral damage before launching the missile.”
“Interesting. Thank you General for clearing that up for us. You can leave now.”
General gathers his papers and places them back in his briefcase. Stands up and leaves the conference room. When the General had turned his back to the Committee he allowed a small smile to briefly appear on his face. Another battle won.
The members of the committee waited until the door behind the General had closed before moving their meeting to a smaller conference room without any audio or video recording capabilities.
“That’s how I get reelected! My election staff generates lies about my opponent faster than the opposing staff can address them. The best and quickest liar wins! Works on those idiots on the other side of the aisle too!” Chuckles from most of the other committee members along with nodding heads from the more cautious ones.

“Colonel. Mark that video as ‘used’ before refiling.”
“Yes Sir. Did they believe you?”
“Yes. This batch is awed by anything that appears ‘high tech’ to them.”
