Got to go back and get caught up on this thread. I made cabbage rolls last night. Thay were good. Hadn't had them in a long time. Hubby loved them and wants me to make them again. Since they are very time consuming I think we will do a bunch of them and freeze some the next time .

My husband likes cabbage rolls, too, so I freeze leftovers in small containers to pack for his lunch. They are time consuming. Our fillings change all the time, though, depending on what he's eating that week on his diet. Sometimes they're normal, hamburger, rice, cheese...sometimes they are vegetarian with mushrooms, rice, and cheese. Sometimes he is eating vegetarian but no carbs, so it's mushrooms, cheese and chopped zucchini.

Today I plan on making chili and cornbread. Hubby has to have crackers to eat with his chili lol

I just make cabbage rolls as a one pot meal instead of the original way. Less time consuming and much easier lol
Tastes the same so....*shrugs*

I know growing up we had chili with macaroni in it to help stretch it. I had 2 brothers who were eating machines. They could eat a whole loaf of bread at one meal

Stuffed rib eye...chopped onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, with mashed potatoes/white gravy, and artichokes. Blueberry pie and French Vanilla ice cream for dessert. Banfi Lambrusco for the wine. Bo and Lilly will get the leftovers.

WVDragonlady...love homemade chili!! Have you tried making it with ground sirloin?

No we prefer pork in our chili. I use leftover pork roast thawed out

That's what I intend on doing.

This afternoon was "clean all the containers out of the fridge day". I made a nice garden salad with ham and had a little of this and a little of that...

Oh, my "Fry Daddy" arrived this afternoon. I got the smallest one they make, only holds a liter of oil. I love my air fryer and use it daily but there are certain things it can't do, especially when it comes to Asian foods. Most dumplings and wonton are a disaster in an air fryer. Both are things I enjoy. From time to time in the warm months I had access to Bream and Bluegill which I love fried.

This morning I had a breakfast wrap filled with egg, bacon and a split English breakfast sausage and a spicy BBQ sauce
wrapped into a wheat flat bread.
I split the sausage so it drains more fat and I do it and the bacon in the air fryer.
I scrambled the eggs in a glass bowl and nuked them in the microwave for 2 mins without fat. They turned out perfect.
If I fried the eggs, bacon and sausage in a fry pan the normal way and ate them I'd be bent over
double and bed ridden for the entire day in agony.
This way - using the air fryer, means I can have my Saturday morning fry-up without killing myself or something
that feels pretty close.

Made a fish curry in the Instant pot thing. Over riced cauliflower that I made in the food processor. So easy and fast. Froze 3 bags and I just cover and nuke for 3 minutes. I had brown rice last night and this saves about 100 calories and with the curry, I couldn't tell the difference! Cantelope for dessert.
