OH YES! Perfect pan size wild trout. My wife prefers salmon but I grew up eating trout caught in the high mountain lakes and there is nothing better.
Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of different fish and venison is also a favorite but the memories associated with getting up in the morning mist and casting a fly line to catch native trout are very strong.

Mmmmm. Fresh caught, rolled in a little flour fried in butter with some potatoes and onions over a camp fire. I love that we have more than 50 fishable lakes within an hours drive

Not going to mention the miles of blue ribbon trout fishing here. Biggest that I have caught is around 26". Not bad for a rainbow.

For campfire trout...
Johnny's seafood seasoning
Butter
Mayo
Onion
Bacon

Slice of bacon in and outside the trout. Butter, mayo and seasoning also. Does not take much. Wrap tightly in foil and place in coals. Mayo will keep the fish moist. I hate have a dry salmon or trout.

Only 50? Canada has somewhere around 60% of all the fresh water lakes in the world.
I'm not a big fan of trout but that does sound tasty.

We are in a mountainous area. That doesn’t count the walk in or fly in only lakes. The numbers get big if you include several hours. The terrain makes driving distances long ... to give you an example my favourite spot is 14 km (about 8.5 miles) but it’s 50 minutes by road, when the road is driveable.

It's a good thing that i be working on fixing some lantils with 2 precooked pork chops in the fridge.after reading all that.. :p

We should set up some sort of fishing adventure trade! We have a very limited number of stocked trout streams here in MO, but I could definitely take someone out on a big river cat fishing adventure!
