Who was diabetic before starting keto?

I also read a study from China that linked higher instances of AFIB to keto eating. AFib is what put me in the hospital.

Meds have been changed and I not longer completely avoid carbs, just refined crap and low amounts of other carbs.
I don't know much about the AFib stuff, but it seems to me that the "moderation" that you practice makes good sense. For most people, it's not necessary to cut all carbs/sugars/fats, etc. Just cut back. Food is one of the basic pleasures of life, may as well enjoy it sometimes.

Now, if I could just follow my own advice...;)

After further review I have found out that the study has not been published in any medical journal nor has it been peer reviewed.

Another instance of the media jumping the gun.

I found a Dr Ken Berry and watched a lot of his videos. Because of this I am now back on track and doing mainly a carnivore diet the last two days. I can already feel a difference in my alertness.

Blood sugar in half again, down from 240 to 124. I am going to beat this diabetes with a large ugly stick.

Ok here is an update. 4th day on a strictly carnivore diet. Blood sugar has been under 120 for three days now. Did not take the diabetes meds today.

Blood sugar was 93 first thing in the morning, 117 after taking other meds and breakfast and 89 this evening.

I will say that the current heart medicine will cause a rise in blood sugar. With that, I am very pleased about the results today.
