    Skills vs Stuff

By the same token, if you are in the country - you need to be able to limit access to where you live. "One way in, one way out" isn't ideal for some reasons - - but it's AWESOME for setting up a checkpoint for anyone trying to enter (in my case , a VERY rural "subdivision")

    What's everybody doing today?

Sooooo many construction projects lined up! I have a LOT of machinery/equipment to repair, also. Overtime $$ at work has slowed down, so I am thankful for all the "side-hustles" that keep extra money coming in. I haven't had any problems getting the groceries I need.

    Concern about missing members

Yes, I am friends with his daughter on Facebook. She and her husband have *quite* the fabrication shop.

How Women Ought To Treat Their Husbands

Hi Weedy! Probably a man. I'm sure the final edit was a man. HOWEVER... I have (in the past) met women who loved to serve. They were treated with kindness and respect by their husband, though.

    What's everybody doing today?

I have been fixing up an early 1970's Ford 3500 Backhoe. It's been a *real* project! I'm getting close.....

How Women Ought To Treat Their Husbands

Quite honestly - all I ever cared about was food & drink lying around or spilled (needing cleaned up). I can't have a house with nasty floors - - - - I was happy doing all the other housework.

How Women Ought To Treat Their Husbands

I have always always, always, always, always, always wondered about the authoring, editing, and publishing process of that li'l tidbit of wisdom

    Can new cars make sense?

I just bought a Kia Optima with only 17,000 miles on it from the estate of some friends of mine (Her dad passed on) - It was $10,000 (2.39% APR from the credit union) and I don't think I could have found a better deal on anything anywhere else. Some really good deal are still out there.

    Yanmar tractors

Yanmars are Japanese - but just not as durable as a Kubota. I had a John Deere 850 (made by Yanmar) - I bought it broken and fixed it. it's just not as tough as an older Kubota. Newer Kubotas are built pretty "cheap" anymore. Kioti is a very good make, solid & tough tractors. So are Branson...

    Concern about missing members

Davarm doesn't live far from me - his garden is as huge as usual, but he's a NEWLYWED! He and his new bride has been very busy with family. He still does a LOT of canning, and I see him post regularly on the No canning police (food group) on facebook fairly often. He still has a special jar of...

    What's everybody doing today?

I’ve been working 16 hours a day, 6-7 days a week for the last couple months - I’m fixin’ to drive up to Elizabethton, TN in a couple days to pick up a Kubota backhoe I bought on eBay.

    Finding a wood stove

Yeah, but they are at atmospheric pressure with a large gravity reservoir. Circulation pumps will likely keep the temps ever getting too hot.

    Can new cars make sense?

My advice is: Don’t get emotional about a car purchase. Too many people by what they want instead of buying what they need. A few years ago, I really wanted a diesel Ford F-250. I did not want one with more than 150,000 miles, though. My budget was no more than $15,000………… Which I found was...

    Selling my bunker

I have worked on aircraft turbine engines for many years of my life. They do NOT like to "sit". There may be a little more effort required to get them going than just adding batteries & fuel and hitting the "start" switch! ;):dunno:

    Bartering/trading for materials

My goal has always been to try to build this house debt-free. I know the finishing of the interior is going to eat some money, but so far I’ve done really well looking for (& finding) really good deals.

    Bartering/trading for materials

Since I am still recovering financially from my divorce & losing my job last year, I have become pretty creative in my ability to procure building materials without having to spend money! One thing is for sure…… Tearing down old structures to salvage the materials is almost a wasted effort...

    Finding a wood stove

Tractor supply company used to sell US Stove models, And the exact model I was lusting after came up for sale on craigslist for about half price… I kept it from my old house, it’s in storage so I can use it in the living room of my new house when it’s finished. I have so much wood, & keep...

    Selling my bunker

450kw?!? It’s a good thing you have the small unit with a Ford Straight 6, no way you could feed those twin turbine power units unless you were Bill Gates or Warren Buffet
