    Storage Places

We don't find any of the fifo can dispensers any good as they take up too much room and stock very little for us anyway. Instead we bought 5 shelf gorilla type garage shelving and stack 3 flats of tinned whatever in the cardboard cartons they come in in the stores in each row of the shelf in 3...

    Hello from Utah

Most welcome @TeeJ yes I think we all need tin foil hats at the moment as things are rather crazy everywhere . Inflation at least can't hit that aluminium hard hat but people may want it to melt it for the metal that costs a fortune nowadays 🤣.

How did I save money today?

@TeeJ probably the layers you put in the dehydrator trays were too thick and they didn't dry properly. I find that about 5- 6 eggs per dehydrator tray works well and 10 hours in the dehydrator on 65 oc works for us (let you convert to F) . Also really important to mix them properly in a food...

    What's everybody doing today?

Today we got out in the gardens and weeded two garden beds and planted some more turnip and carrot seeds in one garden bed that had snails and slugs eating the young plants. We found the slugs and snails and they are now dispatched :). We then shoveled up all the dirt the builder left in a pile...

How did I save money today?

The last two days I have dehydrated 4 dozen eggs I purchased on sale for $2.50 a dozen using our free solar power and saved $40.56 over buying the commercial ones that you have to use twice the amount of :). I probably won't be saving a lot of money but instead spending it to stock up with the...

    Preparations Update

@UrbanHunter I would agree on a 4 - 5 year supply is about right and what we are aiming for :). Of course some things may not last that long so have to look up lifespan.

    What's everybody doing today?

@UrbanHunter now why would the government want you to know what the actual inflation rate is on the things you use . Doing similar over here and we know it is not 3.8% it is more like 30 - 40% if you take into account all the things you mention and we use. Fuel for e10 here is $1.519...
