My GoTo dies are made by Lee. Very inexpensive, but I've had no problems with them. I get very accurate .308 and .223 using them. If you're looking for high end target rifle dies, those are available at Midway too.

Nah, I thought maybe someone had some they might no longer use. I'll just order new ones they aren't that expensive.

Me too initially. "30.06 Dies" ... I thought, "Oh No! Granted, it's an older cartridge, but still pretty popular. I hope it will remain around for a while longer."

Which is a really strange initial reaction for my brain to have, since I reload too. Not .30-06 however, - I've never owned one of those. I should remedy that some day. An M1 Garand or 1903 Springfield would be nice!

I actually have some 30/06 dies that I do not use but I don't want to get rid of them. I guess kind of a prep item for me because it is a common caliber. I do have bullets and suitable powder too of course.

I have one and I want to try some longer range shooting with it. I bought the rifle 20+ years ago and all I ever do is take it out and give it a rub down, lol, I haven't put a round through it.

At 1000 yds they still have the punch of a 9mm at close range. I figure I have it, why not. The ammo is capable, but the next question, is the rifle or me capable. If I could get out to 3 or 4 hundred yards with accuracy and consistency I'd be happy.

Grab you a good .22 rifle, good ammo and try things out at 100 yards. That's roughly equivalent to centerfire at 400 yards in terms of the technique and skills required. Wind is a different matter though. Much harder to estimate direction and velocity "way out there". Plus, wind direction/velocity often changes a couple of times over that distance, making it even tougher. But unless you're one of the lucky ones to have a 400 yard range close to you, .22 at 100 is a great way to practice.

If the rifle is one moa at 100 yards, it's gonna be that at 400 yards too (one moa would be 1 inch at 100, 4 inches at 400). The difference out at distance is more ammo and shooter and wind than rifle. But you may find that your rifle appears to like "Ammo A" at 100 yards, but doesn't like Ammo A as much as it likes Ammo B at 400 yards. In other words, two ammos may appear identical at 100 yards, but their differences could show up at 400 yards. Just make sure your bullet weight does not cause things to drop from supersonic to subsonic before your target distance (that shouldn't happen with .30-06 at 400 yards - you should be supersonic to at least double that, or more, depending on bullet weight/style). And optics too - you have to be able to see it to hit it, and your turrets have to be precise and repeatable if you will be using those for elevation compensation rather than holding off. Assuming your rifle will be sighted at 100 or 200 probably, not 400, you'll need to have some way to figure ballistics so you know what compensation you will need.
