Thanks fro the memories.
I also liked the service station attendants ,it meant seen to it you didn't have to work fro your gas at the pump' fill her up' 'or a dollars worth'.
Windshield cleaned, oil put in.
Also liked soda fountains except when mama would send us to get castor oil cherry or lime sodas!
. What a way to ruin a perfectly good fountain drink. Druggest and soda clerk were saddist. That stuff would sit on top of the ice yet you could still taste it on the bottom. Like trick or treat at the fountain, mostly it was treat though since that didin't happen real often.
They also sold leeches for blak eyes so guess lots of black eyes back then. Or why bother with raises leeches.
