I remember pumping gas at those prices.
A common order was, give me $2 of regular and a quart of bulk oil.
The station would run the used oil from oil changes through a series of filters and sell it for 25 cents a quart.
Check the tire pressure, check the oil, wash all of the windows and give them a free glass or 1 piece of dinnerware all for a quarter a gallon.
I don't know how my uncle raised a family with 4 girls on what he made.

Anybody that drove one of those over 90mph, had a death-wish.
A motorcycle with 4 wheels and made out of beer-cans.
But they loved them.
The thought of filling up my car for $2.50 is like something out of the twilight zone.
I had one.great milage and it was quick.93mph I'm not sure about that. My bil had one with a turbo diesel and he got 50mpg. He was a VW mechanic and could tune them for milage.
Was my favorite , and could get 3 cents back on bottles.

I loved my "Steelies", lol
1/2" steel ball bearings dad would bring home from work.
Sold them for a buck a piece back in the late 70's.

I worked at A&W Rootbeer on roller skates carhop.We sold many a rootbeer floats. I was 16.
