Look behind you in that dark corner.
You might have noticed some pharmacies putting "two sided" lids on their medicines, one safety, one not. Here's a fast way to illuminate an area that you'd rather not shine a light into or just walk into.
(Something made a creepy noise outside/ Burglar in the house?) Take two bottles of the same size and hollow out the center of one lid with a spade drill, discard the other lid. Now you have 2 bottles that can be screwed together. Makes a neat little waterproof container, but we're not stopping there! Spray the outside of the bottles with WD-40 or sticker remover and remove the labels, be sure they are squeaky clean. Now for the fun stuff, go to the electronics supply or whatever took Radio Shack's place in your area and get a 6 pack of LED white bulbs, a small touch switch and a battery compartment for a single AAA battery. assemble the LED Lights + to - In a series and solder your switch in the line, then attach it to your battery receptacle and insert the battery, if all goes well,it should turn on and off. stuff the lights into one bottle and the battery compartment into the other. Now cut a heavy cardboard Sleeve to fit somewhat loosely over the bottle with the lights. Now when you need to light something up that might be dangerous, unscrew the battery end, press the switch, screw it back in and slide the sleeve down over the battery end and pitch it into the area, it should light a 12X 12 room up fairly well and if you use a larger size bottle you can have 2 AAA batteries and more LEDs for more light and longer burn time. makes a pretty decent lamp as well.

Bonus project.
Take a small "L" shelf bracket a 1/4 inch nut and bolt set, a strip of 1 1/2" x 1' wood and half a dozen medicine bottles Drill a 1/4" hole in the bracket and 1" down from the end of your wood strip and assemble with your bolt, just tight enough it swivels fairly easily, then put a drop of crazy glue on the nut to lock it into position, next using some 3/4" Sheetrock screws, affix the lids of the bottles safety side down and screw the bottles on. attach it to the wall in your shop, loading bench or kitchen for those tiny things you always use or for cooking spices. when you get whatever you need, screw the bottle back in place and swivel it out of your way.
