This is NOT my list, but I always like to view other people's lists and see what I might have missed in my planning or how their ideas differ from mine.

This list was put together by a man who said this is the list of what people are to bring when they come to his house after SHTF. The list is broken down by one month's ticket, two months, and three months. I don't think it would fit in one vehicle, but having a utility trailer would work.

Me? I am not giving any requirements of what to bring, because I am not announcing anything to anyone or inviting anyone.

This list comes from:

Wow! Now that's a list!
I believe your first comment is correct; he only left out one thing....
21_tatra_t810_1r0r26_pancerovane.jpg

One of these to carry it all in:rolleyes:.

It's really obvious to me we (my family) won't be allowed to join that "group", so I will be rolling along :antiqueauto: . Items should be "per person" , a family of 7 needs a lot more than a family of two. It's a good thought exercise, but whomever put it together needs to give it a lot more thought. Their loss quite frankly, they have missed a lot of valuable, longer term items that we will not be bringing.:quilting:

Yeah, even though his list is very comprehensive, it fails to take into account why SHTF.
Let's see what I would have that is not on his list.....
Maybe something to detect stuff that you cannot smell, taste, hear, feel, or see, that can kill you:

Yep. I won't have any mouse or roach traps:rolleyes: but the people with me won't die of radiation poisoning because I WILL have the above.

*Orphan sandal not included.

Supervisor42, yes. I was just looking at docimeters on Amazon tonight. Yes, his list is missing some necessary items. What is on his list that I have never had any interest in is the Mountain House foods.

What else is missing from the list?

You've done your homework.
The dosimeter pens and charger are the most important parts of my kit.

Not even 1 umbrella on the list.gaah

No chainsaw.
He has gasoline, but no generator

Maybe he assumes these will be bought by people, but a tablet PC, cellphone w/solar charger and a simple AM/FM radio.
All not on the list.
We live in hurricane country and practice drills every year.
This year's drill was 07-12-19.

Pretty realistic too!

24 rolls of toilet paper per family

He has 24 rolls of toilet paper for the 30 and 60 day but only 5 for the 90 day. He clearly doesn't have any females in his family.

1 package Feminine Pads (can double as First Aid Dressings) per adult female
1 package Feminine Tampons (can also be used in First Aid) per adult female

I keep more than 1 pkg on hand for a "Month". Some months need more than others.

I've been told by a trauma surgeon that this is a bad idea. Those items are designed to absorb blood, not stop the flow of blood. Its much better go have something that's not absorbent and doesn't allow the flow of blood to continue.

I hear that FEMA will have very nice camps. It will be fun, to go camping. Why waste money buying supplies for 30-60-90 days...??? Nothing bad will ever happen in America.

Like the Baoefang radios, I have done research, but have never purchased. It is time for me to do so.

The items on the lists? I can have them scattered under beds, in closets, in the garage, and I do. I am thinking I really need to get them into well labeled and sturdy crates, piled together in the garage, with easy access for quick loading into my utility trailer.

I'm guessing that he has a generator and that you are expected to provide gasoline to run it. Twenty gallons of spare gas would also fill your vehicle so when your resources ran out that you could depart and not be a drain on the community.

I hope so.

You know "Virgin Prepper" as "IBME" and others know as "Sourdough" or "6.8 SPC" or "Albert Johnson" or "AGL4now" or "Wilderness Wanderer" or "Lake Clark".

Any time someone makes a list, others can pick it apart. And every person would make a different list because everyone's circumstances are different.
As far as sustainable living, just think of the hundreds of canning jars you would need for even ten people if you can everything (including meat).

there are plenty of jars out there, no problem getting as many as we need.

That's why I bought the jars at the estate sale a few weeks ago. It added around 500 to the supply I already had. I'll have to count them this winter to see what we actually have.

I had to actually dispose of a lot of jars and empty cans I was saving as I am having my workshop shed replaced soon and I cannot store everything I had in the smaller shed, I can easily replace them after the new workshop is built.

When it comes to canning jars, it seems that you can never have enough. Whenever I have a canning jar, something goes into it, even if I am just dry canning, or just putting dry food in their for storage. I still have to go and get more canning jars every month or so, and more during canning season.
