A few of his thoughts really struck a chord.....Like the paraphrase on Churchill's words " Never in history have so many been fed by so few from so far away" and the example of how information is stored and used and how it can just all disappear in just an instant!!! It has shocked me recently by the number of people when in a discussion instead of working on their memory processes whip out an electric brain and use it for the reference. also the lack of writing and paper to store the info when the power is out ...In times of stress and someone shows or tells you how to do something you had better write it down cause ya aint gonna member. Someone said once " Most everyone believes that there is a great gulf between civilization and barbarity, But it is only the thickness of a sheet of glass."
So true, ssonb. I get really tired of being in a random conversation about whatever, and someone in the group pulls out their smartphone to look up a "fact" about what we're talking about. What happened to just "talking?".
